Foundation Teams Up With Grammy Award-Winners for Upcoming Nonprofit Grant Award
AUSTIN, Texas, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- (www.ctkfoundation.org) - The CTK Foundation Philanthropic Fund and Los Lonely Boys announce a unique nonprofit grant opportunity -- The Heart and Soul Grant Award Program. Starting on July 1, 2009, nonprofit organizations from across the U.S. will go online to submit an original poem that expresses the "heart and soul" of their nonprofit mission. After the August 15, 2009 deadline, a jury panel of recognized independent music artists and producers from around the country will select a winner based on the quality and impact of the lyrics. The selected nonprofit organization will win a $10,000 cash grant and Grammy Award-winning recording artists Los Lonely Boys will create a song, based upon the poem, which will be professionally produced in a recording studio. "We think that the process of writing lyrics to a song, and submitting it as the basis for a grant, will be an inspirational process in every community," said Jim Tullio - an internationally known musician and the producer of the upcoming Heart and Soul Grant Award recording. "Our goal is that both the song and the accompanying $10,000 grant will help the selected nonprofit to better educate the public about their important work." To qualify for the grant, submitting nonprofits are required to be a registered U.S. 501(c)3 organization. Beginning July 1, 2009, Heart and Soul grant applications will be accepted on the CTK Foundation website at www.ctkfoundation.org. Grant applications close on August 15, 2009. The winner will be announced on September 21st, after which time key members of the winning nonprofit will be flown to Austin, Texas, for an evening gala where the song will be premiered by Los Lonely Boys. For more information about the Heart and Soul Grant Award and application guidelines, nonprofits are encouraged to visit the Foundation website and click on the gold Foundation tab. llblady, I too have a son with Autism. He is 17 and has to go to a school 2 1/2 hours from where we live. I think it is so important for people to understand the need for better education for our schools on how to deal with Autistic children. I hope all is going well with you and your children.

For those who have not heard, Our LaOnda sister Kimann Senna from Florida who was a die hard LLB fan has passed away on Mother's Day. There are no services. Here's the Obit.
http://coxgiffordseawinds.frontrunne...799&LinkId=221 OK, Soooo, I think the best thing for us to do,(and Kimann would like this, I think) is, donate to the Fender Music Foundation, because... "Your donation will allow us to continue to put instruments into the music education programs that need them most. We are contacted daily by teachers and program directors who desperately need help: school music teachers who usually receive no funding for musical instruments, after-school program directors who see their students in desperate need of music to get them involved and off the streets, and nonprofit organizations who see the value of music therapy but have no funding for the instruments. Your donation will go a long way for these programs. Just $50 will put a guitar in a school so that it can be used by about 20 children throughout the year; $500 will fulfill a small grant supplementing a music program that already has some instruments; and $5,000 will fulfill all of the instrument needs of a program, directly reaching hundreds to thousands of people." https://www.fendermusicfoundation.or...ex.cfm?sec=why Also, You get a necklace I could send to her hubby as soon as I get it. AND, I'm sure Los Lonely Boys would love this also. I am going to put the word out and see if I can raise more $$$$ So we could make a bigger donation to the Foundation in her name. I just think it's bigger & better to get Music into the classroom, since Music Classes are the first to get cut in the budget. Or if you just want to send a card, send it to: Charles Senna 5040 NW 20 st Okeechobee, Fl, 34972 (This is the address I had in my address book, anyway.) So, Let me know if you want "in". I will wait until June 1st to hear from you, and then get it all together & send it in. You can go to www.paypal.com to pay $10 each (or more) by Paypal to: JBOUSQ1017@aol.com or send me a check at Jeanne Bousquet 347 Miller St, Ludlow, ma.,01056 I THANK YOU ALL. Have a nice day, Rosie

Hey all! I am going to as many fronts as I have to ask for prayers. I am the director of the afore mentioned ministry. We are overflowing with clothes and household products. The problem, we don't have a building. I have items in 4 or 5 different locations. We have a couple we are looking at getting, but it is slow going. I am having to turn donations away and I also can't adequately fill the needs with the way it is now. So any prayers you could say for us would be very helpful.
Thanks and God bless, Sherri |

Sometime last night people broke into the building that we have items stored in. The local food pantry that we are part of has stuff there as well. They cut themselves when they broke in & got blood everywhere. The majority of the items out there are ruined. Including over1000 lbs of pasta & quite a few packages of diapers. Please pray as we clean. They were able to get fingerprints. Also pray for those who did it, as they obviously don't have God in their lives.
Thanks, Sherri |
