Carrie has presented us with a great idea (on FB), which is being moved here so we can get organized.
She wants to start a collection of our funny (or not) stories about road trips to and from LLB shows. I've offered to help get it edited and published, but we need to know who all is interested in this.
If you are, please sign on below. Thanks!

Sounds like a good idea - maybe if it is only to be posted and shared here on the forum, it may get some people back here on the fan forum.
There are only a handful of people who keep this thing going - and I thank you.
That may be something to brainstorm on - getting LaOnda back here on the forum.
Looking forward to reading some of LaOnda's roadtrips.

Interesting Topic
I'll have to think hard on this because road trips are sacred and a lot of what happens on a road trip stays between us in the car groups. haha-nothing bad don't even go there hahah
But with that said I'll try to think of funny moments to share

ONe of my many funny stories. I was on my way to a concert three hours away, as I pulled away from the house, my kids call and say they are out of toilet paper! ughh.. anyway, I stop at the store rush home and drop off the toilet paper. In the process our family dog decides to jump under my tire, well enough said, I squished her to death. :( Me and the kids were devastated and I comforted them for a bit then wrapped the dog and put her on the bench on the front porch and said "kids tomorrow we will give her a proper buriel". I headed on the road to the concert speeding cause I had already lost an hour of road time. Well during the second song of the concert my phone rings its my honey, "what happened to the dog??? I came home and found her wrapped up on the porch, at first I thought she was just snoozing!" I said, "honey, I needed to come to the concert, I had front row and besides, it was already getting dark, I didn't wanta bury her in the dark". My poor doggie RIP BABY :) All you dog lovers, I don't mean to offend you, I as well love dogs, but this was kinda funny after the fact :)

I'm a dog lover too, but I have to admit that your story is one funny way to get this thing rolling. What we do, or postpone till tomorrow, for LLB.
Belle, I know Cree and I would like to get in on this. So do you want us to our stories here? :)

I got one ...but nothing dies!! LOL
November 2006, Boston at the (then) Avalon theater...
Waiting outside for the doors to open, my cell goes off...it's my senior in high school daughter, home alone at the farm...(over 3hrs away, mind you)
"A car was just here" she says
"What'd they do?" I ask
"Nothing...they sat in the drive for like 10 minutes, then left...what do I do?"
"Uh, nothing, they aren't there, right?" I ask
"No, oh wait, here comes a car again..........."silence!......"It came back. I think someone got out..what do I do?" She is freaking out
"Is the door locked?" I asked
"Yes" she says
"BOTH doors?" ( there is an outer door for the woodshed area, & the inner door that goes into the kitchen)
"Yes, I think so" she's now whispering
"Stay away from the windows"I tell her
At that moment, they decide to open the doors EARLY cuz it was Freezing outside & LLB was worried about us!(awwww..how nice!)
I missed what she said next cuz i had the gaurd guy going thru my purse...
"What? What did you say?" & I look at my hubby "I think someone is trying to break into the farm"
"I'll go in and get a spot, you keep talking to her"he tells me, and LEAVES me at the door & he goes inside cuz it was general admit, & I wanted the Stage!! LOL
"THey got back in the car" she whispers.."Now what do I do?"
"Are they still there?" I asked
"Yes"
"Alright...head upstairs and hide in a room...." (there is a way out from up there)
Silence on the phone..I thought I lost signal
"They left again.......what if they come back again, I don't like this. Can you come home? Please? I really don't like this all that much"
At this point I"M starting to freak out too....
Then the gaurd who looked in my purse asks me "Everything at home okay?"
"No" I tell him "My daughter is alone, its pretty deserted area & this car keeps showing up."...he motions for my phone, I give it to him
"Hello? Yeah, what you do is make sure your doors are locked, and stay hidden....can you get out if you have to? Then you got nothin to worry about, but you can call me if you need to, okay?...." & he gave her his number!!! LOL I got my phone back
"Who was that?" she askes me
"I don't know, he works here & over heard me talking to you" I told her
"Well, okay. I"ll call him so I won't INTERUPT YOUR SHOW" she tells me.
I'm laughing now
"I think you're okay, don't worry. Prolly just someone thinking they could get in some night hunting & was surprised to see lights on....call the state police (just down the road a mile) if they come back again..and call me too. Love you" & we hung up.
I thanked the gaurd guy & went to the stage where, hubby had saved me a spot on Henry's side.
"Everything ok?" he asked
"Yeah, she's to callthe state police if they come back again...and then us."
We didn't hear anything else from her that night..but I worried untill after the show when I called & left a message on the answermachine, for her to call me in the morning (long story- but we had 2 houses-an hour away from each other- at the time so she could go to a different school)
So i REALLY remember that show because I was so freaked out over her being so alone! LOL
Oh & add to that---- windows were being replaced..and the livingroom had a big picture window HOLE in the wall covered by plastic!!!...so if anyone had gone Around the house, they could get in Very Easily!! LOL

Here's a recent one....
Last June we went to The Hamptons..................Rode the ferry over which was kind of cool...........
Show was good- meaning the Boys played very well, we just didn't like the Place or the People there much! LOL.....
So we're at our hotel the next morning, eating our "Free" continential breakfast...which actually had ALOT of options.
Then we go into town to look in shops while we wait to get in line for the ferry back......
On the Ferry, Rosie starts to feel funny............driving back, she says she's REALLY not feeling well, and when we get to her house, she goes to bed as the rest of us head out homeward bound......Debbie gets home & isn't feeling well either....I pick up my car & start driving home to VT, and after an hour or so, I'm not feeling great, but not feeling "Sick".........
By the next morning, I was a GONER! Totally sicker than a dog...EVERYONE who was w/ us, was so sick we all wanted to DIE!.......But no one could figure out where we ALL got it from...until I came up w/ the BREAKFAST thing.....the only person NOT sick, didn't eat Anything there!...our degree of sickness was determined by how much FREE FOOD we ate!LOL
So let this be a lesson to you when traveling!!!.....Be VERY Cautious of those Free Breakfast bars Hotels offer....you may get more than you bargained for!!! hahahahaha
I could tell you a Garzillion. Theres the time I locked my keys in the car and hour before the show, and I was not at the venue, how I fit my hand in that tiny crack in the window, I dont know. But I made it and met Henry, Ringo and Pappa afterwards. Or the time I was limping around St Pete cuz I had blisters on my feet from walking/dancing. and the tour bus rolls by, with Glen waving at me out the window. Then there are the crazy stalker fan stories I could tell, but ettiquette reminds me we'd rather forget those times. But geez, no wonder the boys arent as open with fans in some states!!!! All in all, some of the best memories of the past few years, have been at LLB shows. No matter what you go thru to get there, the money that you spend, the people that drive you crazy, when "I Never Met a Woman" starts to play, and that breeze blows thru your hair,(it happends every time, I swear) its all worth it. The boys, esp Jojo, have been so sweet and kind to me and my daughters, they know and appreciate what we do and how long we wait to see them. I am truly blessed to have these moments in my life to look back on with a smile. :)

THAT was interesting...AND fun! <3 luv ya lady!
I know, I guess you know a sister when you meet one!! That trip was so much fun. Me and Devin were reminiscing about that yesturday, when they played C&C and I thought we were all gonna have a fit. OH....WAIT.....We all DID have a fit!! You are truly one of my faves, I will never forget your kindness, and Rosie too. When we were newbies. Oh yeah, thanks for not stealing my kid or feeding her to the lions or something. If I didnt get my ID, I couldnt get my tickets!!! I hope we get another chance to get Lonely together soon!
