Thanks Rachel. The race was yesterday morning, this is the biggest 10k in Texas with over 20,000 runners let alone thousands of spectators and volunteers.

This was my 3rd time doing this race, it's quite fun and I enjoy running through out downtown Austin, the Capitol and Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake). My 18 year old also ran and during the race injured his heel but he stuck it out and completed the race in 52 minutes. I know he would have beat his previous time of 48 minutes had he not had the injury. Way to go Julian!

During my race, I saw 2 adorable kids cheering on the runners and they had their hands out so that runners could "high five" them and noone did...so I ran across and in front of other runners just to get to them and high five them, their faces lit up, little do they know they actually made ME happy.

I felt very good and hoping to beat my time of 59:58 for the 6.2 miles (10k). I see the finish line and notice that my time is looking excellent then I just couldn't believe as I got closer to the finish line "Heaven" by Los Lonely Boys was on. Got a huge kick out of that, only because what are the chances that each time I do a race, no matter what time I cross... that song is on? They only play it once during the race so the timing is incredible. I crossed to the tunes of LLB......at 54:12 and I'm a very happy gal.

I find my son and his girlfriend, we hug and enjoy our massages. Another race down, next one is in 2 weeks, Texas Round Up...the Governor's Challenge. I wonder...maybe just maybe I can beat my time from yesterday:D
