Question: I saw the disclaimer that "This site evolves daily. Keep checking back for more updates and info about Los Lonely Boys" Anywhooo .... I get that changes are happening and more are coming but I continue to be confused.
What is really the home page .... the "old" OFFICIAL WEBSITE with the moving objects? or the "new" OFFICAL FAN CLUB one with the options of "Home" "Forum" "Store" "Show" "Tickets" which take you back to the "old" home page. And I thought the boys weren't affiliated with EPIC?
Will the NEWS section ever be used again for articles and real news?
Might be silly questions but I don't understand why after several days - things aren't a little more consistant.

Thanks, Velvet, I was wondering the same things. Also, what ever happened to "Ask the boys a question?" And Blogs?

I see EPIC FINALLY got removed. I mean the boys have only been with Playing in Traffic since March.!
Next lets see if the FANS section can be taken down since we no longer need to go there.
BTW - what becomes of the Fan of the Month files? Those should definately be brought over ..... it would be a shame to let those go AS well as the IN STUDIO video footage. Or maybe that's all here but I'm still trying to find it?
Rosie/Debra - good to know I'm not the only one who's a little lost.

I'm just gonna start putting my questions here about the "new" forum. So if anyone has the urge to jump in - please do so. Since Rosie and Debra spoke up - I feel sure there are others who may have the same questions. So going back to my original post - I'll start with simple questions and work my way through:
1) why are there 2 home pages?
2) why is there still a link to the FANS (the old fan club site) which takes you to the Crossroads home page.
3) my smileys all have X's .... is that my computer or the site?
I honestly feel like I'm in the house of mirrors. I like simplicity .... I'm just sayin' .... so web designers are you out there? Buellar Buellar?
velvetsky0222
06-13-2009, 06:06 PM
As an afterthought.....
1) Why didn't we really just merge both forums/sites? ...ie., bring everything we had at the paid Fan Club Site over here .... seems like the forums could have been easily merged and we would have all the bells and whistles we had on the paid site. Like the behind the scenes video footage, the fan of the month, foto of the month etc.
2) Shouldn't this as the Official LLB website be the main port for all things LLB. Myspace has some features on it that we haven't had here. I personally don't think EVERYTHING should be provided on myspace ... those fans should be directed to this site - how else will we grow, get new fans and be active .....
I'm just sayin ........................... and talking to myself.....

1) Does anyone else think that the links at the bottom of the page should be at the top .... the navigation links? I totally missed them and have been using my back arrow to navigate because I can't see them at the bottom of the page.
2) So what exactly does Crossroads offer the fans if all the links are the same as the home page?
3) There are 3 links on the Ticket page .... again all repetitive.
Hey thanks y'all for joining me here. I see there are over 120 views to the thread but just a few speaking up. Which is cool.
There are other things I've noticed ... not sure if y'all have seen them too. Anywhoo - I'm actually taking each link and exploring all the doors and what is housed there.
The one thing I really am excited about is the archives.

I agree that these links would be better at the top of the page. I just now realized they were there.

Ok - somebody's listening y'all. Looky - the navigation links are on the top of the page now .....
AND did y'all see the fanXtras? This is what Gigi's been working on- t seems like forever and now I know why she was so excited about us getting a new home. I'm glad to see it finally made it here. I've already changed my background . .... and I'm adding widgets to my webpages.
So things are happening a little slow but - as long as someone (the designers) are listening .... I'll be happy ... not sayin' I'll be quiet ...
Now - let's hope the NEWS section starts putting up the news . . like the Portland show in October and more on the studio work.

Any progress is better than none, but I can't see ANY of it on this site -- especially on the FanXtras and Presale. I get those stinkin' little boxes with the blue triangle, red square, and green dot! GRRR!! (stupid computer)

Hey Everybody!
Thought it was about the right time for me to introduce myself... and the Welcome Mat seems best. My name is Richard, and I'm the newest member of Los Lonely Boys and Playing In Traffic Records tribes.
I'm the guy who has been "behind the curtains" since about mid-May, working with Gigi, Bela, and Belle, to get the new Crossroads Fan Club site up and rolling.. and going forward Im working for you as the Forum Administrator.
It's been quite a journey getting to this point.. starting with a love of music, a passion for hard work, and many years working with the Internet, starting back in 1994 when few knew the extent of what was about to happen.
But, enough about me. This is your Forum, your Fan Club. How can we make it better and more enjoyable?
I'm extremely thankful and appreciative of all the comments, suggestions, help, and welcoming support that everyone has given me. And thanks for your patience while I'm getting up to speed with everything.
So please do continue to send any suggestions you have.. ask me any questions.. let me know how you think we can make the Forum and Crossroads Fan Site more enjoyable for everyone.
My personal email address is: richard@loopholemail.com.
Please don't hesitate to email me at any time! It may take me a few days to get back to you, but I assure you that every email will be read and responded to.
Extending my hand with friendship, love and respect,
Richard

Well welcome to our LLB home Richard. It's good to hear you have been working with Gigi on what we the fans want and what we are used to. And if anybody knows - it's Gigi.
Let me just say this too. There are some of us who have been here since day 1 and if WE can be of help to you let us know too.
We (the fans) have developed a great relationship with Art Attack, Loophole and the LLB camp. So great that we all consider one another friends in fact familia (well at least I think so). So welcome in that regard too.
Thanks for reading this thread and for listening to what we are saying. I can already see some things have been fixed. And You can be sure that you'll hear from me *LOL*!

Richard, if you could do something about the threads getting BURIED immediately -- not just in days, but in hours -- that would be probably one of THE biggest helps ever! There used to be a scroll feature (arrow to page 2, as an example) and that doesn't exist anymore.
Everyone else, you need to realize that threads get buried right away, so you are missing a LOT of posts. I have gotten in the habit of just checking each forum to see if there are any new posts, looking at the dates, even though they don't come up on the first page. The 'search for new posts' does not really work all that well, as it usually will only pull up ones from the first page. Just letting you know because I think ALL communication from LLB management on down is important to Crossroads and the success of our Boys! Just my 2 cents...

I'm still so frustrated with this site. Still going in circles .....
Click on Crossroads and there is nothing about Joining the forum....
It only leads you to JOIN the STREET TEAM - do new fans really know what is involved in joining the Street Team? Right off the bat - fans will become confused with Fans = La Onda.
Do we have a Fan Club or not? and what does it offer to us? Video Blogs (NO) and the boys are videoblogging more on the road - this is what we have been waiting for it seems like 2 years! And we have to go searching for it on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook. Some people don't have time for that .... We come straight here for news.
And that's another thing .... NEWS articles - they're not here ..... the 1st site had so much history with the archives of articles. Such a shame the News section is not being used and is so outdated. We post the news on the forum before it even makes it to the NEWS section. Helloooooo - why not just copy and paste over there so that new fans can catch up with what LLB is doing.
Pre=sale tixs (Yes) but how do we know this?
Do we have a Fan of the Month (NO) FOTO of the Month (NO)
Is the Forum the Fan Club?
Oh and what about filters? I cringed when I read a recent post.
I'm so confused. :confused::confused::confused:

It does feel like this site has been forgotten. This is the first, and sometimes only, place I go to. It would be great to have everything here. One suggestion might be to use the Announcements section for news and videos. It would be a good start and require no development effort. We need whoever is updating the other sites to update this one too, please.

It's Friday and maybe the Houston heat has my tolerance level low ........ I just feel the need to get this off my chest.
I agree with that Bela but like Ruth mentioned threads get buried and new fans may not see the newer posts.
We have the Links there - they just aren't being used the way they were intended. IMHO ..........
And again totally agree with you on this being my 1st stop in the morning to find out the latest. Unfortunately unless one of us post the Twitter links, Youtube links etc .... others may not see it. The thing is - the posts to Twitter, Facebook, Ilike, Myspace etc are directing traffic to their sites ... and not bringing the fans to THIS site ........ so what is the ultimate goal? I for one would like to see more new fans joining us. Few are trickling in.....thank goodness.
The recent cancellation a show because of "lack of interest" is a clear sign that things just aren't right.
Those of us who have stuck by this forum for over 5 years see it slowly dying and the few of us who are committed to hitting this site everyday to keep it alive is beginning to get old.
I personally prefer Wal-Mart over a MALL. I can get everything I need there without going in and out of shops. I'm just sayin ..........

It's okay, Velvet, I'm glad you're venting because I believe most of us share the same feelings and observations. We need to drive traffic HERE first if we're ever going to GROW a fan base -- not all these other sites just because they are so mainstream and used often. There's SO much potential here, and SO much talent that could be tapped to help grow it into the awesome fan club we all know it can be!

I'll be glad when I get my internet back on at home - it's a bummer having to wait to get back to work to post replies. Anyhoooooooooooooo
NEWS: As far as the news goes ............... why not just use the NEWS section to post news. The ANNOUNCEMENT section IMHO should be for just that - Announcement of SHOWS, PRE-SALEs etc. Several of us get GOOGLE alerts with Show Reviews, Articles etc that are worthy of being placed in the News Section. It's great that LLB has the different avenues for news to reach the masses however the point is this ........... it goes out there BEFORE it gets here. That's a fact.
FAN of the Month/Photo of the Month: Where are the achives? Those are still important to us and it would be nice to see them up.
CROSSROADS and LA ONDA? What kind of feedback are you wanting? The members of the Street Team have been talking about having a password access forum and it was my understanding that was going to be a part of this forum. I haven't seen anything on Reverbnation asking the STREET TEAM for suggestions etc about improving the group? I'm a little confused about this particular subject since Gigi (being our leader) knows what we do and what we want and has always looked after our best interest. However, I think a email to the active members (and we know who they are) would be a great way to get "feedback".
I think it's great you moved this thread to WE CARE because if we didn't - we sure wouldn't be here. Thanks for the ear.
PS - Are the Filters set on the forum?

Hey Richard thanks for asking about what I mean with the NEWS: I'm asking because this has been brought up a few times and I feel like I'm missing something - can you please tell me exactly what NEWS section you're referring to, including a link to it?
We've been updating this site:
http://www.loslonelyboys.com/news.html
Since I've been working with LLB starting this June, that site has been updated at the same time as other news sites have been updated.
Sometimes it takes our server a little while to update the page cache, which can make it seem to take longer to get the news out, but it has been posted.
That is exactly the link I'm referring to. I don't understand computer lingo too much so you'll have to excuse my understanding of why it takes a page cache so long to catch up with myspace, Twitter, facebook, ilike etc. Anyway, there is ALOT of news that is not being posted .... You might be able to research how the old sites were. Where we were able to see articles and reviews posted and when new fans would come to the forum - we would say - Hey check out some of the articles etc so you can get to know the boys better ..... If you check the waybackmachine.com PRESS
(http://web.archive.org/web/20040204031205/www.loslonelyboys.org/cms/news.html) you will see exactly what I mean.
Here's another link: http://web.archive.org/web/20050303012338/www.loslonelyboys.org/subset_media.html
I don't have time to search this website today to give you examples but there are very recent reviews and articles that are now buried in the forum.
BTW - Have the forum filters been turned on.?
Some of my questions are being addressed and I appreciate that. Maybe my questions are some that others have but don't want to address. At any rate, I'll keep asking because I do care about LLB, their website and the impression that new fans get when they take the time to come here.

I agree with you totally VS. I get the google alerts, but don't always have the time to post them to the website. They should be posted on the website first and foremost.
We want the latest info here for us and new fans to see. Make it easy for everybody. I personally don't have the time to go looking for info either.
Welcome Richard. Thanks for your hard work.
I know it will all work out and serve the intended purpose. I surely don't want to see any more shows being canceled, LLB is far too good for that!!
