I can't lie, even if I want to. :-) sorry, couldn't help it
Hello ONDA! I hope I'm not repeating anything you already know. It was news to me when I heard it and wanted to share!
The day of the San Antonio show, Oct 29, Henry did a radio interview for one of the local sports shows. I had no idea he was going to be on there, let alone they were doing the national anthem before the Spurs game (did anyone get that on dvr? Espn didn't show it).
Anyway the radio guys were talking about the game and someone asked who was doing the national anthem. The host says it was LLB and I'm thinking "noooo way." So then he starts going on and on about Henry's guitar playing, telling the other guys on the show that he saw LLB once before and couldn't believe it. Then they start playing the intro to OUTLAWS and went to commercial.
I'm still thinking this guy is full of it, but when they came back, they played a little bit of Outlaws again and said Henry was in the studio for an interview! (we were driving back from a great day in Corpus Christi seeing all the Selena sites when this sports show was on am radio). My wife was sleeping at the time so I gently woke her up when Outlaws was playing.
It was a great interview and long story short, Henry said their next album might be a CONJUNTO album. I'm not sure if you are familiar with that type of music but I guarantee you, if LLB is doing something like that, it will definitely be good!
Try this for listening to samples of conjunto music:

Like I said, hopefully I'm not repeating old news - it sure was NEW news to me when I heard it!
Obamanos!

ANY style of album they do, they will put their heart and soul into, so we can't lose! Good to see you on here, Joe, and glad you and Natalie had such a fabulous Texas tour.... Did you catch the call letters of the station, by any chance? We might be able to dig up a copy of the interview...

Hey Welcome Joe in ND!

wow! conjunto music. . I do love solid Rock n Roll, but also love whatever the boys do. I think this will reach out to la gente who will get a chance to experience what we do when we hear the boys.

Thanks for sharing the 411 on the possibilities of what the next LLB CD could be. My Mamo loved conjunto music and we grew up listening to the legends. I guess that's why I love it when Mikey from TMX joins the boys and he jams the accordian. There is absolutely nothing like good ole gleeto music. (and I know I didn't spell that right)*LOL*. Taking it way back ... Love that.

I had to google am radio stations in San Antonio, so hopefully this is it (it was the ONLY am station we could get that day!)

It had to be between 3pm and 4pm when Henry was on. We planned on getting back to SA at about 4 so we'd have enough time to get ready and find somewhere to eat before the show. We got a little sidetracked in Corpus Christi, which was a very good thing! Had we gotten back to SA at the time we wanted, we wouldn't have been in the car to hear Henry too!
We were still in our room a little after 6 when the Spurs game started and they only showed the tipoff, no pre-game stuff, including the national anthem. :-/

YES!!! We did see them up here at FOUR BEARS casino! That was our very first LLB show and we were FLOORED. We were right up front in the first row, on JoJo's side of course LOL. I do remember getting a button at the show, and I still have it!
Council Bluffs, Iowa was our 2nd LLB show and again, we were knocked out. Unbelievable! We met some great people out there too, and what a HOT day it was in more ways than one! (oye mamacita, que pasa?!?) :-D
Conjunto music is fantastic, you can't help but want to get up and move something! I was raised on tejano music growing up in Phoenix. I had been looking for (old school) Steve Jordan albums on ebay for a long time. When we got to San Antonio, I figured somebody HAS to have some here! Sure enough, the very first store we went to at Market Square had a greatest hits album and they told me they could order whatever I wanted. SCORE!
I'm sure the Boys will put a little of their own flavor on it and it will be INCREDIBLE. ;)

I emailed Mike Taylor, who's on in that time slot, to ask him what happened to the podcast and could he put it up (all the while shmoozin' him, of course!) ;) --- we'll see if it works!

Conjunto? Bring it on!!! that would be sweet. My grandparents have listened to a lot of conjunto (david lee garza, hometown boys, etc) i think it would be a great album. to be honest i was a lil sad when i didn't hear not one spanish lyric on "forgiven".

yeah, I was kind of disappointed that their wasn't any spanish. Just yesterday I was listening to the first cd. . .and still just LOVE Crazy Dream, with the spanish and the guitar riff work. .
what is it called? the part where they do the 'Garza shuffle' from side to side on the stage?? I LOVE that. .it drew me in immediately

It's ok to have the multi-posts...shows that you're as excited as us!
Conjunto can cover so much musical ground...
I guess I'm guessing for some of Tish Hinojosa's work...o' Pedro Yerena....
But what I'm really hoping is that we get Enrique, and Tio Lupe, and Joe and all La Familia Garza makin' it happen!
Originals or not, it'd be a GREAT family jam!!!!!

there really isn't a name for that kind of riffing. i do know that it's only 9 notes played on that part of the song. think of a name lol and that's what that part of crazy dream will be called.
