MY SON CAME TO VISIT all the way from South Dakota!

And it was the first time He, Akicita (Ah KEE chee tah) and Ronnie met. FINALLY. . it's been great! They've been bonding, and Ronnie asked him permission to marry me. . very sweet.

My daughter and her kids live here in Oakland, but my son lives back home in South Dakota with the rest of my relatives. Since he has two kids, they RARELY go anywhere. . barely pay the bills. . so it's a real treat to have them here. Since I didn't go home this summer (FIRST TIME my whole life). . he came here.
The first day, we took them to the San Jose flea market :)
Here's Ronnie with my grandaughter, Angeleena

and my son with his wife Dione, and baby Theodore Eli (named after my daughter Theodora, who was name after my grandmother)

Yesterday we took Angeleena to the park in her new princess dress. I was worried about her getting dirty and ruining her shoes, dress. .but she's good at doing all the climbing, etc. in a dress. . lol she's a girlie girl. . (didn't get it from me. .hahaha) She's so very smart. . I love it!

Been thinking about everyone in Texas all weekend, knowing they got all the Walmart shows, Waterloo and Willie's picnic. . what FUN! Thankful to Veronica and LLBeagle for the phone calls. .sure lovin' "heart won't tell a lie".

HOpe you are having a good weekend!

Wow! Your family is beautiful!! You are very blessed! Nice to have the day off and have family there, too! Your 4th must have been better than mine. I cooked for a bunch of people who came to visit us in the woods in my trailer In the rain! (We have a campsite on the water in the Berkshires on the Mohawk Trail).. I have dial up there, and got bumped off about 20 times... Try cleaning pots & pans in a sink made for barbie dishes! I burned my arm on the oven, Dogs barked like maniacs & threw up because of the fireworks... Cops took $600 worth of fireworks hubby split with his brother ( Luckily no one got locked up) And my dog bit me in the face! I think I'll stay home next 4th of July!

Sounds like you had a fantastic 4th!!! It's always good to have family around!

I helped run sound for the annual 4th of July festival here. Talk about hot! Being in the sun all day long baked my brain! LOL :p

Tasina, what an absolutely beautiful family! How wonderful that your son could come out to visit and everyone had the opportunity to meet Ronnie. I think that's one of the best ways to spend a holiday.

Rosie, sorry your day wasn't as good as it could have been. We'll remind you next year as the 4th approaches once again.

I spent the day "working" the phones at home, but you know, it's not a bad thing....actually got a chance to catch up on chores, reading, and just "catching my breath" from a busy week, and of course listening to Forgiven over and over and over again. Then on Saturday we went to see deSol in Portsmouth NH. So all in all, a great holiday weekend.

We just had family over..grilled kabobs (steak & chicken), lit some fireworks. In a way it's the best kind of 4th to have. Everyone's home safe and having a good time! :)
