Hey famiila,
Here's when Martha and I handed the monk sockeys off to Donna, (Musicfan on the ff) who took them to Monterey & the Blues Fest.

She's a hardcore loopie who's put time and money into promoting the boys in many way. . she is the one who made the ORALE cards (thousands of them) back in 05, when the name of the CD was CHANGED to Sacred. .and her hubby Alan Shecter wrote the article about the BB/BS's Redding teaching that the boys did last year. She also made the 06 mini frisbees that Henry played his guitar with. . .all this is to tell you that she's in need of your prayers tonight. .continued below. .

Hi All,

We are a bit worried up here we seem to be in the middle of fire central. After the Humboldt fire last week that burned 23,000 acres and 77 houses (2 of my clients lost their houses, and 3 others were evacuated and the fire burned up to their fence line) the town, and I must say I, am a bit traumatized. Now with all the lightening strikes yesterday there currently are 27 fires in Butte County and 5 of them are burning around our community. The closest one seems to be under control, but there is a growing one that is across the canyon - Alan and I just drove to a lookout point to check it out - and in the 1.5 hours we were there we watched it crest at the top of the canyon and start coming down into the canyon. Calfire is stretched beyond it's capacity is what we're hearing. We didn't see any planes or air support coming in to suppress the fire, which is a bit scary - there was a man from the USFS and he said that all resources are on other fires - which doesn't give us any comfort. The West Branch of the Feather River is at the bottom of the canyon and what we're hearing is if the fire jumps the river, we'll be looking at evacuations - so me thinks it's going to be a long night. So please pray, think good thoughts, put positive energy into the universe for a calm night with no winds.

We've also heard there is a large fire in Shingletown (Shasta County) where I grew up and family friends are being evacuated - this has been an incredibly tough month on the fire front, and it's much too early in the season for all of this. I hear there are fires throughout the northstate - hoping you and yours are well.

Donna's husband Alan sent us some pictures that he took of the fire yesterday afternoon--very scary! I just called Donna and left a message--I'm praying that the winds have died down and they are getting the fire under control. While she was in the Bay area for the Monterey and Russian River shows on 6/14-15 they were concerned about the Paradise fire and their friends who lost their homes, and whether their house would be standing when they returned home. But this fire is so much closer to them than the Paradise fire. There are fires everywhere in Northern CA--there is another one closer to us in Napa/Solano counties (close to the freeway that takes you to Sacramento.) I could smell smoke this morning when I left for work, and my co-worker who lives closer to that fire said there was ash all over his house and car, and thick smoke in the air. And what is worrisome is that it's only June and already we've had so many fires. So, prayers and positive thoughts are being sent to Donna and Alan, and all the other families who are dealing with these many fires.

Donna, friends and family - I'm praying for your safety for all of you and hope that the devastation of these fires is kept under control. I lived in CA for three years and know how horrible and frightening the damage can be. Please let one of us know if we can help those already affected in any way. Extended prayers also go out to all of those who are fighting the fires and their families.

Thanks for the update. So sorry to hear that Donna might have to evacuate. I'll certainly add her to my prayers and pray that her house is not affected by the fires.
