Hey Guys
For those of you who still have energy after ODR, here's a great way to continue the fun. I'm the secretary for the Austin Blues Society and we're holding our one year anniversary show on the 18th. Yes, I will be there even after surviving (I hope) my first ODR. So here's the press release with all the info. It's a cure for those post-ODR blues!
2ND ANNUAL AUSTIN BLUES SOCIETY FUNDRAISER CONCERT TO BE HELD AT ANTONE’S NIGHT CLUB.
May 2008, Austin, TX. The Austin Blues Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed in 2007 shortly after the untimely death of longtime Austin Blues impresario Clifford Antone. After its first year of successful events and activities, the Austin Blues Society will hold its second fundraising and membership drive concert at Antone’s nightclub, 213 W. 5th Street, on Sunday, May 18, 2008. This is an all ages concert and, as was true for last year’s event, will boast a stellar lineup of some of the area’s best Blues musicians. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:00. Tickets are only $10 in advance, available on-line at frontgatetickets.com, and $15 at the door. Austin Blues Society members may purchase tickets at the door for $10.
The May 18th fundraiser promises to be another exciting night of Blues music featuring the following stars:
W.C. Clark, Angela Strehli, Marcia Ball, Carolyn Wonderland, Alan Haynes, Mark Hayes, Derek O'Brien, Omar Kent Dykes, Sarah Brown, Nick Connolly, Riley Osborne, George Rains, Erin Jaimes and some very special guests.
If you are not yet an ABS member, you will have the opportunity to sign up at the show. If you are a member and your membership is expiring, you will be able to renew at the event. Austin Blues Society commemorative T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
The Austin Blues Society invites Blues fans one and all, old and young to join us at this annual event. Come on out, have fun, and support live Blues in Austin!
