Eight concerts featuring 17 key acts — including Sheryl Crow, Steely Dan and Willie Nelson — have been booked at Ironstone Vineyards for the 2008 outdoor amphitheater series.
The series will open June 13 with a headline performance by Sheryl Crow. Opening the show at 8 p.m. will be Los Lonely Boys.
Bob Weir and Ratdog will follow on June 27, with Gov't Mule as opening act at 7 p.m.
Also appearing:
• Steely Dan, with special guest to be announced, July 25, 8 p.m.
• George Thorogood and the Destroyers, with Buddy Guy and Charlie Musselwhite, July 27, 7 p.m.
• Chris Isaak and Boz Scaggs, Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m.
• Joe Cocker and the Steve Miller Band, Aug. 17, 7 p.m.
• Willie Nelson and Family with Sara Evans, Sept. 5, 8 p.m.
• Bonnie Raitt with the Blind Boys of Alabama, Oct. 4, 7 p.m.
"Every year, we try to raise the bar on the quality of entertainment," Ironstone President Stephen Kautz said in announcing the lineup at the winery Thursday. "We feel we've added tremendous value, especially with the pairing of the artists."
Tickets go on sale to the public May 2 at Ticketmaster outlets. Members of Ironstone's Gold Club will have access to tickets beginning April 25.
Ticket prices, about the same as last year, will range from $45 for general admission lawn seating to $230 for front row VIP seating with a winemaker's dinner before the show.
Midprice tickets also will be sold for reserved seating and premium seating with buffet dinner.
Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne also will sell general admission and reserved seat tickets in the Willow Basket gift shop. If available, tickets will be sold at the gate on the day of the event.
Seating capacity is 6,000, and parking is free.
One more concert may be added, Kautz said.
"We have one potential date, Aug. 1, on hold but we're not announcing it because it hasn't been confirmed yet," he said. "We can say it's a big name band and we're very excited to have them coming."
Kautz said the winery is especially pleased to present Sheryl Crow because she has cancelled her late summer dates to replace Christine McVie in the band Fleetwood Mac.
Regarding Ratdog, led by Grateful Dead singer-guitarist Bob Weir, Kautz said, "the old guys will be excited but they also draw tremendously."
Willie Nelson and Sara Evans have never played together before, Kautz said. "We think it's a great pairing."
He said the same was true of Chris Isaak and Boz Scaggs and Steve Miller and Joe Cocker.
"Each act is a headliner," he said.
