I just got this Google Alert...

Stir Concert Cove lineup to include Styx, Raitt, Nelson
04/02/2008

Prog-rock band Styx, known for pop songs like "Come Sail Away," "Mr. Roboto" and "Show Me the Way," will kick off the Summer Concert Series at Stir Cove at Harrah's Council Bluffs. The band will play May 25, followed by diverse acts with headliners like Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson and B.B. King.

Few venues in the metro area can rival its scenic skyline view and natural outdoor acoustics. The 2008 summer concert series stands-up to its unparallel backdrop. The Cove solidified itself as the Midwest's premier, outdoor concert venue when it was named one of the "Top 100 Amphitheaters in the World" by Pollstar magazine. In 2007, the concert series was marked by record attendance.

Concerts announced include: Styx (May 25); B.B. King (May 30); The Roots (June 1); Willie Nelson with James Hunter (June 27); Crosby, Stills & Nash (July 13); Ween (July 20); Los Lonely Boys & Los Lobos (Aug. 2); and Bonnie Raitt (Aug. 23).

More acts will be announced.

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. and will be available at the Harrah's gift shop, (888) 512-SHOW or www.stircove.com.

OMG RUTH...how fantastic is that? I PMd you 'cus you know I have to go. Maybe this time I will finally meet you and Kelly since that last time I went I didn't know anybody. That was when I was new and that was my second concert. I realized afterwards that Kelly was hanging around the bus like I was after the concert. We just didn't know each other then. Now things are different, and I can't wait.

OH YEAH, that was the time too after the end of the concert, JoJo and Henry came down the stairs to all us fans, and started shaking hands....AND that was when I got to kiss him. It was so cool; he had the biggest grin on his face and pretended to stumble back like "WOW". And to make things even better, that was when Henry was throwing his picks out to the all of us, and the very first pick he threw was the one he used the whole time at the concert; it was white with TX on it and his signature of the back side. So as you can see, the memories are still so fresh even though it has been a few years.

Got to make some plans :D :D :D

Does anybody know what the seating is like? It looks like an outdoor fest with lawn chairs all the way to front. Any reserved seats?

The frontgatetickets.com presale was this morning and only brought up "GA" tickets which I understand are lawn seats. So I don't know if the entire venue will be general admission with first come, first run down and grab a place! or if there will be rsvd seating. I'm so confused.

AMORE - if you have a message on your cell phone from this morning, it was from me :o

LLB Fan Club Forum Presale on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 10 am local time.

I just received the email today...If the others are not offering good seats, you might want to wait for this presale! Just remember, "presales" do not always offer the best seats in the house. I hope Music Today was able to get good seats for this show.

GOOD LUCK!!! ;)

They went onsale to the public today. It's GA, no seating, first come first row. . .
for KFOG Kaboom, Jefalisa and I got there first and already there were several blankets lining the fence of people who were friends of the venue or something.
at Carnival, martha and rob freezed it out all morning to save our front row, but there was a corral where special guests in front of us. . so you never know what you're going to get.

I am hoping to make it. I don't think it will sell out so I will get tickets later. Since it's not seating. ..hopefully dates will pop up close by before and after. It would GREAT to have a CHEYENNE fRONTIER dAYS REUNION. Pat, Rita are you up for it??

Seats are G.A., which was better than last time --- believe it or not! ;) If they set it up like last time, they reserve about 10-20 rows for VIPs (casino guests) and it's roped off. Then, G.A. starts behind there, with lawn chairs they provide. BUT! since there's NO reserved seating this time, we're hoping that the VIP section is a lot smaller and fans will have a chance to get closer. And, on their website, they say you can bring lawn chairs...hmmmm. Not sure what's gonna be there exactly...?

As for ONDA FRONTIER II, way ahead of you, Tasina! :D We'll be hoping, too, for more dates to open up around the area, so we can make it an ONDA FRONTIER caravan!! At any rate, we'll be reserving a BIG OL' CHUNK of Harrah's for a pre AND post-party...COUNT ON IT!! We are SO STOKED!!!!! Ladies, start your swag-makin' engines!

Hi Ruth, hope you know I talked to Kelly yesterday and she passed it on to you. I am still trying; I have not been told 'no' yet. I am thinking positive.

Oh, Rhonda, I hope you got the word from Ruth or Kelly - let me know.
