KGSR is our local great music station around here.
Five years ago, a lot of Austintacious met three young musicians at Blues On The Green, which is held in Zilker Park here in Austin. Seems KGSR and Waterloo Records were helpin' these guys out.

Ooooh, MARK! I can just feel your excitement already...Austintacious, get ready! :D Here's an excerpt from Austin360.com:
On June 11, radio station KGSR's Blues On the Green free music series returns to Zilker Park two days before Live From the Plaza closes its spring season. The free concerts will be held every other Wednesday on the north side of the park near Rock Island. The shows start at 7:30 p.m. and last for two hours.
Performing acts are not exclusively local, according to KGSR's Assistant Program Director Jyl Hershman-Ross. She said the station's well-known DJ and content manager, Jody Denberg, books "the best blues-related performers that he can find — whether they are talented young up-and-comers or established national acts." Hershman-Ross added that the music schedule is still being solidified, but confirmed that acts for this season include Los Lonely Boys (July 9), Carolyn Wonderland (July 23) and Sonny Landreth (Aug. 6).
Unlike the City Hall shows, there are food and drink stands at Zilker, but the event is paid for by KGSR's sponsors. Attendees are free to bring their own supplies (no alcohol). Lawn furniture and pets (on leashes) are welcome. Hershman-Ross said that "shows go on rain or shine."
Hey Mark, I am so happy for you. Looks like you have a date, huh?

Ah, actually, Amore, I don't have a date. Yet. (smile)
But Austin has a performance date...
