Well, I had about a half of a tank left before he filled it up. It probably would have been close to $100 if it was almost empty.

Wish you were going too, Laurieboop! Will call you from the shows (hopefully there will be cellphone service....)

quick note. . ringo was wearing a brim hat. . he told me later it was his golfing hat.. very cool . .

they sang "I'm a Man'. yes I am and I can't help but love you so. . . .
originally recorded by Chicago back in the 70's . .it was awesome.

A lot to tell, but I'm exhausted. .martha has the set list. Velvet took LOTS of pictures, as did Debbie. .

We made new shirts and gave the boys each one, and someone (a fan) took Henry's right out of his hand. . what an a##H###. .

I'm happy and exhausted. . . what a show, what a night, what a crowd. .

GLOWSTICKS during Heaven was awesome!

Nice pics, everyone looks great including the loopies,

YEP, and the boys played Velvet Sky, where she came running up the aisle and during the song Jojo smiled at her and said "VELVET SKY" . .it was beautiful. . . as she is~

Her cousin is giving her touristy visit as well. . . today they are off to watch whales and go to Agate Beach. . the waves are CRASHING against the surf (the casino is right on the beach). .

Martha has the set lists and will be on when she gets time. . (btw, the set lists are pretty similiar to New Mexico, we keep hoping for new songs, different songs. . maybe tonight)

it's been wONDAfully busy. . we all went DANCING last night after the show.

and this casino had a drawing based on our tickets. . seat numbers and I WON~~ a hundred dollars. . I was so shocked, and very happy. .

Love, Tasina

It's 9 am PST and Tasina and Bernadette have already left--Onda road a little after 8 this morning. We woke up to SNOW!!! on the coast--awesome sight to see snow and the crashing ocean waves at the same time. Bernadette called 511 and they had to change their route home because the road they were going to take requires CHAINS! For those of you in the midwest and east coast, snow may not be such a big deal, but it's very unusual to actually have snow on the west coast!

We have had such an awesome 3-fer. Last night after the show La Onda came over to the vacation house where Rob and I and Tasina and Bernadette were staying and we partied until 2:30 am. It was so wondaful to not only have so many from OBTB at these 3 shows, but also sweet Velvet Sky from TX and her cousin from OR, Debbie from MA, and Michelle from soCal! We could see the casino from our balcony, and we all jumped up and down and waved as we watched the bus pull out of the parking lot. The bus left right after the show on their way to Canada. Glenn said they were driving about 400 miles last night, and tonight after the show they're driving 725 miles!!!

The boys were on fire last night, even more so than the 2 previous nights. Jojo looked sharp in black and white, with a (new?) black and white guitar strap to match. Ringo didn't wear his hat this time, and didn't even have on his usual bandana. He had a black leather vest on over a metallic maroon shirt--very nice. And Henry wore a longsleeve white shirt and black pants.

And now for the set lists that I'm sure you've all been waiting for. BTW, I realized I left one song off the New Mexico set list from 3/21--Nobody Else. I'll go back and add it in.

3/27/08 Grants Pass, OR (BTW a 13 year old local guitarist named Jesse, backed by a drummer and bass player, opened the show--he was an unbelievably good guitarist.)

Ahhhh.... so exhausted but OH SO worth it, isn't that right, La Onda?

I just came on to see what all of you were posting but my input, trip details and photos will just have to wait until tomorrow night...sorry... I have a 1-Gig memory card in my little Canon and I only have room to fit 10 more photos. NUTS! I had an absolute blast. It was great to meet the sweetheart they call "Velvet Sky" (Jeanette), and Debbie from Massachusetts gets the 'Spontaneous-Fly-Across-The-Country-With-Low-Cabin-Pressure-Who-Gets-a-Meet-n-Greet-and-Wins-$100 Award' in my book. I'm glad she had the stylish Michelle to travel with.

Before I hit the hay, I have to say Thank You to The Creator for Ringo, Henry and JoJo for bringing OBTB together. What an amazing group of people to spend 5 days with, stand in the cold with, share our love for the Boys and their music with, to spend almost a total of 24 hours and 1300+ miles in a car with, to laugh and sing with, to drink and dance the night away with, to take in all the natural beauty around us in the snow, between the mountains, on the beach with rough-breaking ONDAs... This trip was truly amazing and without a doubt: unforgettable. I love you guys!

Until tomorrow,
Bernadette

OK, so I wasn’t able to resize/color correct all my photos but have uploaded quite a few videos uploaded on google that took all night to upload. I haven’t made them ‘public’ yet as I haven’t written descriptions for them either. I know, SLACKER! But I’m still pooped and I have to work both jobs today… so I have to postpone it.. but the boss man is M.I.A. today so I might be able to at least write a recap. Prepare for a loooooong, detailed recap. I’ve written a little review for the Rogue Theater in Grants Pass on my yelp page http://bappletree.yelp.com and posted a few cute photos (mostly of OBTB) on my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/bappletree (Just click on pics underneath my default photo). It was also great that we had time to just hang out together, walk on the beach. Bernadette and I decided to go for a walk, soon we met up with Debbie (Dsoria) and Mano and the pups, . . then we ran into Martha and Rob! what fun!

On saturday night, Henry said "I've never seen the waves like this!" or something like that. . . the water was amazingly powerful and the casino was right on the waterfront. . beautiful

I love the doggies LLB jackets :)

Wow, the background of that picture almost looks fake! The sun was shining when we took the picture, but right after that it got cold and cloudy and started to rain. We walked up (a lot) of steps from the beach to the casino, and even though our vacation house wasn't that far away, Rob/mrllbheaven volunteered to walk in the rain and get the car to drive us back. He kept calling us (Bernadette, Tasina, and I) his harem--think he enjoyed being the only man in the house--lol. Don't know if you can see it in the picture, but the dog Debbie /dsoria and Mano are holding (his name is Spanky) has a black down vest on with a LLB patch sewn onto it. He was SOOO cute!!!

Rob and I got home this afternoon about 4 pm. We had a nice time in Florence, OR--visited an old friend of the family, rented a boat and took a ride out on the lake, visited Old Town and had 2 delicious dinners (but not as good as the Dungeness crab the 4 of us shared the first night at the vacation house in Lincoln City--YUM!!!) Tomorrow we have to go back to work and back to reality--UGH! :( This trip was such a blast, even with all the driving! It was nice to have 2 shows in a row at the same venue in Lincoln City so we could sleep in the second day and just hang out together. The ocean was magnificent (Henry commented on it both nights) and the crashing waves really were spectacular. The boys wanted to know if we were going on to Canada--we wish!!! Hope all is going well for them and they haven't run into any terrible weather. It's good to be home, but we're anxiously waiting for the next concert dates--so far, the Memorial Day weekend show at the Whitewater venue in New Braunfels will be our next show! Eight more weeks till we get lonely again!

Tasina - I love your JoJo impression.

OK, I haven't finished my review/recap yet and it's already sooo long. So here are some good ones. This should tie you over until Sunday.... which is when I think I'll get this all done.

The line outside the ROGUE was long! I couldn't even see the end of it. Probably cause Debbie and Mano let me stand with them at the FRONT! Woohoo!

WOW!!! Tash and Bern - THANKS for the awesome pictures! The landscape of Oregon is as beautiful as I remember it - the picture of you all walking on the beach brings back such memories!

And the concert photos and the personal pics of you and the Boys - FABULOUS as always! Combined with your messages, videos (Thanks again, Tash! I'm going to do like Laurie and save them forever on a memory card. I loved receiving all of them :)) and calls from Martha and Debbie, I felt like I was with you in OR! Thanks so much for taking all of us along with you!

On to the GREEK - can't wait to see you all then!

[QUOTE=bernadettemanzano]Tasina - I love your JoJo impression.

Hi y'all;

Wow! It was the most perfect 3FER! And yes, it was that gorgeous up there-no fake beach.. lol We arrived in Grants about 6:00pm and rushed over to stand in line with everyone for the show (Bernie, the pic you posted of the line shows my best side.. thats my back standing with the black coat.. lol) We all got Mexican food next door and ate while in line. Everyone was pumped to see the boys and like us in Redding (rural area) the OR fans found this to be a major highlight! Many new LLB fans were made last weekend!
AND
I had the pleasure of meeting new Loopies - Velvet Sky, ArtistDebbie, and Michelle! I cannot tell you how much Velvet and I laughed when we found out we both lived in Waco as kids! Loopies in the making only to meet years later.. lol
The show was awesome beyond compare - with about 15 loopies (OBTB and Velvet,Debbie,Michelle) filling the 1st and much of the 2nd row (was GA) so the boys were surrounded with much ONDA love. Ringo was quite dapper in his hat, I must say. As I looked back over the crowd I could see that the ONDA love was contagious as there not a soul present that wasn't meshmerized!
The next day's ONDA Rd. took us up over snowy mts. to Lincoln City. Our room wasn't ready until 6:30pm so I was disappointed to not reach the show until 1/2 thru the 1st song (Y'all know how we ONDA are the 1st to arrive and last to leave.. lol) but that was soon forgotten once I was dancing in my seat.
AND when they started into Superstition (I request... rather scream it at every venue, but only my 2nd time to see it live- 1st was Reno '06), it took me back to Austin in days of yore-70's/80's when SRV used to play at Barton Springs, 6th St and River concerts. Henry you rock it, Mijo! Thanks to the boys for this special treat! Orale!:D The remainder of the night just got better as all of us 15 managed to get in the 1st couple of rows by trading seats/looking for emptys(y'all know how Loopies can be resourceful!!..lol). ONDA shined! Velvet had of us all misty eyed when we presented her with the 50th charm, corsage, and Honorary OBTB T-shirt. Texas size smiles when they played her song-Velvet sky and Jojo acknowleged her in the audience
The next night was awesome as well!
AND
I saw the ONDA bug REALLY REALLY hit my husband John! He has always been supportive of me hitting the ONDA Rd. and joins me occasionally. He enjoys visiting with OBTB and loved when everyone came to Mt. Texcian La Onda Tierra yr. before last. He is a good sport when I play an LLB song over and over, but during the 2 Lincoln shows he became an LLB convert - aka LONELY! He wore an OBTB t-shirt and you could see the transformation before your eyes as he danced at his seat. When we waved goodbye to bus as it was leaving Lincoln my hub said "Lets go on to Canada"! Now he is asking every day if the boys have booked new concert in Cali. <==gets no betta,Baby :p

That night we all went over to the beachhouse that Martha has leased and were mega stoked from our 3FER! Everyone talking at once as we clung to each other knowing that tomorrow we would all be driving away to our homes with most wONDAful memories! Thankful that we are a part of this most special wave- ONDA!

ONDA love;

Love thinking about last week~ What a blast. .

I'm home sick today because after traveling EVERY WEEKEND of March, plus piled on workstuff. . my body just said "f *** it". . and gave out on me. .luckily my laptop is right here and I can look at the pics, and will now have time to upload some of the video. My google uploader isn't working but I'll be uploading somewhere and post the linkks :)

in the meantime, here's some more pics. .

On the last night, we were all hanging out inside in front of the stage, talking to new fans and passing out swag like we do. . and when Jojo was giving us all some love, I was watching everyone. . I love seeing the new fans (and the loopies) with big smiles, so excited about meeting him, and he's gracious all the time. .
anyway, I ended getting a pic too. . you know that feeling, it's almost over and that panic not knowing when you'll get to see them again kicks in. so I ran over and took one (thanks VS). . .

earlier I was fortunate enough to get into the Meet & Greet earlier before the show didn't ask for a pic. . for two reasons. . first, I have so many pics with them, I don't want them to get sick of seeing me. . .the other reason, to be honest. I'm getting so big, so fat, that I feel so embarassed. . . don't like the pics I've seen, that's why I didn't get in some of them, like the banner pic . . so please excuse me. . . hopefully I'll get with it and drop some pounds before the July shows.

so many people had cameras, I hope more of the others will share some of theirs with us. There were some classic moments. . LIKE ONDA of course. .what a blast that is :) the "chuck berry' moves were PERFECT on saturday night during "FRIDAY NIGHT"! and they were dressed so nice. I really like it when they all dress up. . the jeans are okay, but I love that "suave" look . . .

I hope someone got a pic of the glowsticks. they were a great touch during Heaven. . . and with "suppertime" as the encore, they always get everyone smiling :)

so here's my jojo pic (he's such a sweetie)

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s265/EEVLWYS/LLB%20shows/100_4255.jpg

and here's MICHELLE's pic that she gave me. I was waiting for her to post it, but I am so excited to share it. . It was the final hour of our gathering on saturday night, after 3 nights of 'gettin lonely'. .. It was bittersweet. . such a wondaful time, and we didn't want it to end. We had an amazing time in our 'house'. . . (thank you again mi hermana Martha). We didn't know Michelle and Debbie were coming so we were surprised by them but so glad to be able to spend some time. . .

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s265/EEVLWYS/LLB%20shows/Michelle003.jpg

for Velvet, we knew she was coming and we prepared a welcoming, we gave her a charm marking her 50th (which was Bossier City, La. ) this was her 55th. . . a red rose/white carnation/black ribbon corsage (LLB colors) and we ordered her an honorary OBTB shirt. She put the charm on her LLB pendant, and wore the shirt all over Oregon :). We presented it to her right after we took the photo with the traveling banner on thursday night. . . a little speech about her role as la Madre of La Onda. . . thank you VS for all you've done for many many years now.

my ONLY complaint was that we ordered tshirts for Glen and the boys. At the end of the Grants Pass show, Martha handed Henry his, I handed Ringo his, and Bernadette handed Jojo his. . and I didn't see it, but one of the fans TOOK HENRY's RIGHT OUT OF HIS HAND. . he was trying to get it back. . and then each one came back to tell us. . "someone took Henry's shirt:". . first Glen, then Ringo, then Jojo. . . I told them I'd get another to them the next night. . . so I gave Ronnie's to Glen to give Henry. . :( but I knew Ronnie would be alright with it. It was just rude of that fan. . especially because we have such a limited number of shirts. . . other than that. .

every single memory was wondaful. . I'm happy for y'all over on the east coast who are having some shows coming up. Please share all the details with us :)

Kimann, yes its wONDAful. always cool to see new converts but when its your hub- OMG, its great! Hope its bites some more Loopies' hubs as its so much fun for the entire family to be on the same page planning vacations around the ONDA rd., huh?

regarding the OR shows, I wanted to point out how much FUN the boys were having on stage. They were joking with each other and the mood was light making one feel like it was a family reunion and not a formal venue setting. It was fantastic! Us being at the beginning of the tour was awesome as usually West coast shows are later but having the honor of them coming here 1st was a extra mega gift to us! And we are blessed with them coming back to Cali this summer!

ALWAYS LONELY; :p

Thanks for posting the pics Michelle (and thanks to Debbie from MA too!) I couldn’t have asked for better flying weather….I sure didn’t expect to see so much snow crossing the US of A to get to Portland , Oregon . It’s spring remember? I had a geography expert sitting next to me so he pointed out different areas as we flew over. I felt like a kid – snapping pictures and wishing my family especially my boy Christian could see this.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/DSC06743.jpg

It was great being able to spend 2 great days of sightseeing with my cousin before heading to Grants Pass. Started the day with snow and then when I heard we had to stop and buy snowchains for the car – I got a little anxious. I know my cousin’s husband was teasing me as he said, map out your route so I know where to send the search plane for y’all if I don’t hear from you. Yeah – not my idea of a joke but I laughed along. 20 questions later – my cousin reassures me that we’ll be ok and as we drive along through Salem , Eugene and finally Grants Pass I’m just engrossed in the beauty of the land. The only snow I saw was snow capped mountains (far in the distance), streams, rivers, rolling green hills, Christmas trees everywhere, moss covered limbs – the colors were just beautiful.. We arrive to Grants Pass at 3:00p and drive around the little quaint city. Finding the Rogue Theater wasn’t a problem and checking everything out – yay – there’s the bus…, SOLD OUT sign on the marquee, how exciting. We get back to the theater at 5:30p and we’re 20 or so people deep in line. Tasina called me from inside the restaurant located right next door, where it seems that all the patrons there had taken a break from waiting in line and were having dinner and drinks. I am greeted by Tasina and Dsoria (Debi) and her hubby Mano. What a beautiful couple inside and out!

Debi and Mano’s babies….are they too cute or what?

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/La%20Onda/DSC06892.jpg

Pumped up by the initial greeting… I go outside and meet up with Laura (and her husband), Flaminpie(Patti) and her husband, Debbie (Artist Debbie), Michelle (from Cali ) and Bernadette (from Cali ) and Ellen (llbeagle) I noticed many people in line reading so the bookmarks I passed out were really handy. Got to meet the mom of the 14 year old guitarist who would be opening up for LLB. She told of the story when he 1st got his chance to play for the boys. 2004, Austin City Music Hall , New Year’s Eve. I remember that!!!! He was 10 years old at the time. She was so very proud and happy to meet us as we talked about the boys and the influences they have made on young artists.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/DSC06927.jpg

Once inside the theater the 1st friend I see is Ian. How he remembers us all I’ll never know but what really made me feel good was he immediately asked about Bela. He made me promise to let him know if we heard an update because the crew and LLB wanted to know. Martha sees me and grabs me as we make our way to the 1st and 2nd rows. Once everyone comes in and finds their seat – it’s not long before Jesse comes out to play an amazing set and ends the night with Hideaway. The audience was very receptive and what amazed me was the confidence this boy had at age 14. He’s going places that’s for sure.

During intermission, we gathered to take the “La Onda Banner” picture. I was definitely caught off guard when Tasina and Martha held me back from going to my seat. The gifts and beautiful card and especially the words spoken touched my heart and I couldn’t help but get choked up (OBTB – y’all know I love y’all!).

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/La%20Onda/DSC06934.jpg

We talk to fans around us and a fellow Texan comes to talk to Tas and me about the forum. Hope he makes it here. 2 young boys beside me and a young boy and girl behind us were about to experience their 1st LLB show. You could see how excited they were wearing their LLB bandana’s the smiles on their faces made you happy for them.

It was show time, the boys came out to a thunderous applause and yelling - their faces lit up the dark theater. Waves and the question we’ve been waiting to hear for months “Are y’all ready for some Texican Rock N Roll”. Oh yeah we were!

Highlights for me: JoJo saying something to me during one of the songs. I couldn’t understand him and he repeated it a couple of more times. I kept saying “what?” … and he threw his head back and laughed… “I’ll tell you in a minute” – why I understood that I don’t know but I said “Okay”. As soon as the song was over – he came over to the edge of the stage and bent down. I ran over to hear what he had to say….”You’re A LONG way from home”…and we laughed “I know cuz I love y’all” and he said “we love you too”….Ahhh . The boys had so much fun kidding around and talking over each other. When it was time to get lonely...I think it pumped the boys up more to see all of La Onda jumping along with them. JoJo pointed out the kids as Henry tossed his pics to them during Heaven and Ringo gave them his drumsticks. The show was over much too soon for me but I was definitely satisfied. My cousin had a smile on her face as I asked her how she liked it. She was impressed with Henry’s playing and I said – tomorrow focus on JoJo. He’s amazing! As we walk to our car we see the group of fans surrounding the bus. Ringo is signing autographs and joking with the fans. One of the young boys who got Ringo’s stick was there – his smile was huge! We waited a few minutes but it was too cold to be waiting too long so we left.

The next morning as we head out for Lincoln City my cousin has filled me in on our site seeing plans. Cool … Sea Lions Cave, Agate beach – it all sounds great. What I didn’t expect was to be driving in blinding snow (snow flurries she calls them). Yeah, ok. Good thing Cindy did leave her husband our travel route. Oregon weather is pretty crazy. Snow, Sleet, sunshine 10 minutes later. Hot, cold, freezin’ – makes me feel like I’m going through the change. Well it’s the truth! Stopped at the Dunes National Park … for my 1st view of the ocean with my feet on land. Driving through curves and roads without barriers looking several 100 feet down – yep doesn’t count. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/100_0569.jpg

As we are driving out of the mountains I get a phone call regarding Bela. Praise be to God, there is good news. The prayer vigil is such a powerful thing.

We get to Lincoln City in time to check in the hotel and rest a bit and it’s off to the Casino which happens to be a block away ….
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/100_0663.jpg

I see everyone arriving and like Patti said – they were very resourceful in getting floor seats. I was allowed to go in and out of the VIP/High Roller section sitting in empty seats taking pictures…and my timing was perfect as the boys went into Man To Beat. I got to get lonely with OBTB. Love it! When I got back to my seat – Henry said something about playing this song and when into Velvet Sky. OMG – I was so excited…and sang along with JoJo. I can see Tasina looking for me – and she spotted me and blew me a kiss (I said the heck with this and ½ walk, ½ ran and JoJo sees me as I walk down the stairs and we sang together and he smiled and nodded my way). Dang it – that song just rips me up!

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC05982.jpg

Afterwards, JoJo mentions that they have been working in the studio and the new CD is expected out in July. Cheers from the crowd. Again, the boys just plain having fun between, during and after each song.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC06034.jpg

It’s crazy to see how we do it at concerts…there’s the photobugs, the cell phone callers and the dancers. If you can do all 3 – you’re pretty good. Together we pour out the energy and love and I truly believe it flows over to the boys so that their energy bounces back to the crowd. We get Onda but no JoJo spin…maybe next time (fingers crossed). The show is over again before we know it and the crowd slowly leaves the venue. We hang around, talking to each other and again gather for the “La Onda banner” picture.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC06966.jpg

Talking to the ushers as we gather our things, Tasina street teaming to the end, passing out buttons and we over hear people’s reaction to our boys. Cindy reminded me that the drawing for money would take place at 10:30p so we get Tasina to go with us. Good thing because she ended up winning $100. How fabulous! Cindy is tired and wants to go to the hotel so I hang out with some of the OBTB and Michelle and Debbie. What fun we had, let’s just say – we closed the place down. Dancing and talking, getting to know everyone. The stories we shared of our road trips and how we 1st got hooked to LLB. Amazing!

The next day was our sight seeing time and a trip to Rockport, walks on the beach and hunting for agates. We got back to Lincoln City in time to meet the group for dinner. Met a really nice couple (who took our group picture) that was going to the show and they told us of their last LLB concert and experience. They had taken the young lady’s father to the show last year because his favorite song was Heaven. He later passed away and they were at the show to make the circle complete. It was an inspiring story and many of us have heard similar ones. They were amazed at our travels and dedication to the band but understood how the music had touched us all when our lives needed it the most.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/La%20Onda/100_0738.jpg

At the last show of the 3fer …. I was moved down to the 1st row, seat 7 on JoJo’s side (thanks Debbie and Michelle!). I felt bad for leaving Cindy behind but she said – you go ahead – I’m fine. She had made easy conversation with the members of OBTB and so off I go. A few minutes later, a nice gentlemen in a suit asked if I wanted to meet the band. (Ok – I’m dressed in my ST gear – so I’m thinking surely – he’s mistaken – )I turned to look at Michele and Debbie and they say “GO GO – it’s the Meet/Greet” so I jump up and go. Heck yeah – I’ll go. As I make my way over the “meeting place”… Tasina is behind me. We let others go ahead of us, knowing that it’s about 10 minutes before show time and if they run out of time, we would rather the others meet the boys since we have many times. Anyway … the boys walk in with their black overcoats, looking so fresh and handsome. It was so awesome to see them happy, smiling those megawatts smiles.

When we finally get to the boys we share hugs and laughs…..and I thank them for playing Velvet Sky –told them I was celebrating 55 shows - JoJo was surprised at the number although I don’t know why but it sure doesn’t get any better than that. Ringo and Henry were wearing these really vibrant blue rings. Anyway, we leave in a hurry because the watchmaster is keeping it real.... We return to our seats, the show is just minutes away.

Henry starts the show – “anybody here from Texas ” and whoops and hollers are heard – he says “I am, We are”…. This show was off the chain. When the boys went into “Friday night” Henry and JoJo did a little dance then they looked at each other and started the Chuck Berry dance and Henry did a little of the neck moves too. Y’all should have seen him. I was so entertained by the fun they were having as I know the audience was too. Hearing Velvet Sky for the 2nd night in a row did it for me or so I thought – then I heard Onda and the intro Henry and Ringo did … JoJo did his Onda spin, getting the crowd to their feet. I sat next to a lady who nudged me that I was in her way because I would jump up and dance. The man sitting behind me told me to move my chair all the way back so I could stand up beside him and his wife. How nice was that! (Thanks Michelle!) Sure made it easier than making someone mad at me. Dang…

Henry is doing this thing now when he plays - with his elbow (seen Jimi and SRV do it) Henry does it with such ease. You’ll notice it too. JoJo is doing more lead bass …
(he was really getting into one song and he busted his bass string – yeah that’s hard to do!).http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC07044.jpg
Ringo at one show – broke a drumstick in half and toss it to the floor.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC07064.jpg

The show ends and JoJo once again makes it to the edge of the stage and shakes hands, signs autographs and his smile and reaction to their fans appreciation just warms my heart.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC07199.jpg

He literally goes from one end of the stage to the other and back again.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Los%20Lonely%20Boys/DSC07202.jpg

I decide to take pictures of him interacting and stand on a chair to be able to catch him. Glenn, stood by as JoJo made sure he had taken care of all the fans (JoJo coat in his hands) telling him we have to go…but nope He makes it back to where several of us are standing and then takes pictures with us. I teased him about something and he told me “come here” and gave me a big hug. I introduced my cousin to him and told him how she drove me around the state of Oregon to see y’all and these are her first 3 shows. He shook her hand and gave her a hug too as he thanked her for coming and for driving me around - How sweet is he?

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c399/velvetsky0222/Me%20and%20the%20Boys/Debbies2076.jpg

Then it was time for him to leave…saying “God bless y’all” and we saying “Safe Travels – God Bless” in return. It was beautiful. My cousin and I leave the casino after checking out tickets – to find out she had won $100 too, later we learned Debbie had won $100 as well. Winners all the way around!!

Driving out –we see the bus leaving the parking lot, fans pounding on the door and yelling for the boys to stop. We stop to take pictures, and freak because the bus is heading our way….as they turn, I can see LLB standing at the front of the bus, waving to the fans. We make it to the house to OBTB that the boys were leaving. We stand on the balcony waving as we see them pull out. Deep sighs as we try to unwind from the fabulous road trip we had just experienced. Knowing we all had long drives back home (well except us…) we said our goodbyes. That is never easy when it’s familia.

The drive home was beautiful as well. We stopped at Oceanside for lunch and walked the beach again. Cindy’s husband had made a huge pot of gumbo for us for homecoming, we got comfy and just melted into the couch once we arrived.

I don’t care how many times I’ve seen Henry, JoJo and Ringo, I still get nervous and giddy and probably sound like an idiot when I say something to them but you know what – I really don’t care. As long as they keep making me feel like a newbie – I’ll wait by the bus to see them interact with their fans and if I’m lucky I’ll get a picture with them, maybe get an autograph or 2. Once JoJo asked me what I had for him to sign and I said Nothing and he said NOTHING, I said – well give me a minute and I’ll find something, Guess What – he did wait and not just a minute. Maybe I’ll be in the position one day to say – I don’t bother them for this and that but I’m not there yet.

It’s hard to explain to some people that every show is different so is every trip and why we travel to great lengths to support these 3 Texican brothers and why the fans are so dedicated and why their Street Team use their own money and time to produce fan gifts and promote the shows in their respective areas. I have had the opportunity to travel the great state of Texas and states I never thought I would see and for me that’s huge. I celebrated my 57th show this trip (I thought it was 55!) So this is what I tell people - I love those boys because their music makes me feel alive and because I have made some life long friends and for that I am grateful and will remain dedicated.

Velvet out……………….

WHEW! Loved reliving every minute of it sisterfriend. . .what a blast that was. That last meet n greet was the best, and I'm proud that i was there to take this picture of the four of you. It was a gift to be able to have some one on one time and the HUGS! ummm, they were so dashing!

Your pictures are fantastic!
I'd been waiting for your review, and your timing is perfect, was just starting to feel a little nostalgic, and here you are! Loving the memories and saying it for all of us. . . . .

what Velvet didn't tell you was, on the first night at Grants Pass, when we surprised her after the traveling banner pic, we kept her up front and I explained to the loopies there, and the other front rows of fans looking on, that "she came from the birthplace of La Onda, La madre. . . who has dedicated her time to make sure La Onda stays real, offering advice, staying with us through thick and thin. . some have come and gone, but VELVET IS ORIGI-NAL". . . that it was an honor to have her come all this way. You were looking beautful with your 50 charm and your LLB wrist corsage. . . I hope we made you proud girl. . .Thank you for wearing the OBTB shirt with such zest!

You made the shows special girlfriend! Thank you from all of us in La Onda by the bay. We love you girl!

Love, Tash

Laurie - girl - I'm hoping but probably not this year. Who knows - if we won $100 dollars at the casino that might be a sign to buy lotto tickets.

Lakota - don't you start girl, I was way emotional at GP - I already told y'all I was a cry baby.....Being a member of Onda makes me very proud and we all do our part - you can't do this alone so don't give me that much credit. MUAHHH!!!

I can't wait to wear the OBTB shirt again! It's a beautiful design Patti!

I had to break up my rant in 3 parts because of the limit this forum gives. Shoot it's a good thing...right? *lol*.

(Debi - I see you!!!!, show yourself! - Words aren't enough - your special gift to me was just too much and you're right - I will think of you when I wear it! Luvya!).

VS - I want the kind of camera you have ! Those photos are awesome. Love the pic of Henry and JoJo crack'in up while playing, but also, you can see Ringo on the drums in the middle like he's "pick-a-boo-ing!" Really cute.
