I know how we are all devoted to LLB here.

For many of us, they are THE ANSWER.

But there comes a time to spread the wealth, and share the love and support with others. And you know that I WANT YOU TO FEEL THE SAME WAY THAT I DO. SOMEDAY YOU'LL REALIZE that I'm only talking about fairness here.

A new and breakout band called "The Garza Brothers" are scheduled to play FRIDAY NIGHT as part of the 10th Anniversary of the Steel Penny Pub in San Angelo. I think this band has a lot going for them - they might even have the MAGIC NUMBER.

Following in the footsteps of Los Lonely Boys and Homegrown, both of which bands are also from San Angelo, the Garza Brothers bring new songs based on their experiences in the COTTONFIELDS AND CROSSROADS of West Texas. I'm sure they can help us get yet another perspective on TEXICAN STYLE music.

Now I know that NOBODY ELSE can put on a show like LLB, but you know, we've only got ONE MORE DAY to make a difference - and supporting this new band is MY WAY to do that.

Now I realize that this is incredible disloyalty to LLB. I'll just have to pray that I'll be FORGIVEN by the fans, band management and H/J/R. I've had enough close contact with them that I think my MEMORIES are accurate. After all, I AIN'T NOBODY'S FOOL. RAINY DAYS or sunny, when TIMES ARE HARD or easy, they've always been gracious and professional to me. And if I'm wrong, well, they might just think of me as the MAN TO BEAT the stuffing out of. Then you'll find my body down in the SAWDUST, and the rest of me headed for HEAVEN, hopefully.

ARE YOU READY to help out, fans? Can you show a bit MORE THAN LOVE for these guys? You don't need to worry...nobody will think we are OUTLAWS.

Show starts at 10:30, which is far enough after SUPPERTIME that we should be ready for a good party.

HoustONDA and Austintacious are already planning to dispatch caravans of fans to help this band make it to HOLLYWOOD, just like LLB has. And while it is a long drive, I think we'll try to stop and smell the ROSES along the way. The trick will be the long drive HOME after 2AM, but we'll be able to see the VELVET SKY on the way.

The Steel Penny is probably the first place that a very young Henry Garza sat down at "open mike" and began to play. Shortly thereafter, he ended up with his brothers playing there...and the rest...well, that's history. Or perhaps TheirStory.

Rest assured, it is them. That's why I buried all those song titles in there...so it'd be painfully obvious that it was them. :-)

But we'll share what we get if possible. If you've got a cell number we should use, I'll see if someone will add you to the "call list"...we'll probably have 3 hours of songs!

PS: It was good to see that Luis' guitar went for more than $10, right? I'm Longnow on eBay; I was hoping you'd bid past me... :-) ...but whoever Matador 7 is, I think he/she did Luis a favor. Pity that Luis had to give the git up; I would not surrender either of my two signed Strats or my signed harp.

Hello everyone..sorry it took me so long to get on here...but just want to wish you all the BEST of times in San Angelo..and a very safe journey!! I was lucky enough to stop by the Steel Penny Pub last year on my trip thru your wONDAful state of TX...and tonight I'll close my eyes and think of those "Graza Brothers" up on that little stage in that dark room...right next to their old signed photo of many years ago we saw!! SOMEDAY my DREAM will come true..to see one of those kick-a$$ shows!!! Can't wait to hear the news and see photos and hopefully someone will tape it!!! Mark...LOVED your intro...what a silver-tongued devil you are!! SO glad to hear you're going to head MY WAY this summer..now if we just knew when!?

Thanks to my wONDAful friends, I'm listening to the boys jam at the Steele Penney! I couldn't make out the song at first...all I heard was Henry on guitar and boy, was he on fire!!! :eek: :D :cool:

The song turned out to be MUSTANG SALLY...would love to see them do that in person! ;) This is the best part of seeing them perform under a different name...they get to do so many "covers" we normally don't hear.

Another call, and I can hear JoJo singing and Henry tearing it up on guitar...an oldie but goodie (can't think of the name...something about I'll never do you no wrong? Sorry!)

Now it's LA BAMBA! wooooohooooooooooo I hear Henry singing and jammin on that guitar!!!

LET'S GET IT ON....ohhhhhhhhhhhh I could hear JoJo singing and lovin' it!

BREAKIN NEWS....

Just got a call from Jeanette (VS), she said the boys are taking a break after covering 20 songs!!!! They have been doing mostly covers with a few exceptions of some of their old stuff, but nothing from the new album. I'm sure we'll have a complete setlist by tomorrow. VS said when JoJo walked in, he walked over to them and said "thank you so much for coming, it means so much to us!" JoJo is such a sweetie...always appreciative and grateful of his fans.

Now are you ready for the "BREAKING" news...


JoJo cut his hair!!! :eek: :D :cool: (My personal preference was short hair)

Our wONDAful friends are having a blast! Tres and Mark are recording it, so hopefully we'll get to see the boys on video! It sounds like it's going to be a long night....THANKS AGAIN, for all the calls!

I'm having issues downloading my pics and video clips from my friends computer but she did post 2 pictures on the Steele Penny Website.

The boys did take a break and later JoJo came through the stage and jumped down to talk to everyone there. I mean he stopped, talked, hugged, took pictures...

OH and who walks in before the show starts BUT CLAUDIA!!!! Got to meet LLBEAGLE too! The boys interacted with the crowd and Henry told the most precious story about his kids singing Heaven all the time and he asked them who sang the song. And they said You do...He laughed...just having a good time.

At one point, JoJo walked over and Henry said "JoJo just saved a lot of money with Gieco"... and JoJo said yeah about $350!..

After the show - as people were leaving I was at the bar and noticed Henry had come out - so we walked over - He was just about to leave and we called him and he saw us and said "I can't believe y'all came" and he looked at me and said "You too!, did you have fun?" what do you say to that. ? I asked him if he had a pic and he said "No, I gave them all out" - he felt in his pocket and said "wait" and gave me his brown pic!!!! Anyway, We took a picture - and the bartendar, Chris was talking to me and it messed up the picture -so he said "take it again Henry" and he did. JoJo was still talking with people too so we got pictures with him ... The family was there - I saw Papa from backstage and he waved to us and also Ringo's wife, Lenora and the boys 2 sisters.

I know my thoughts are scattered but just wanted to let y'all know what's up. It's not my usual rant - but you get the picture.
