I just saw on the news that Heath Ledger died today. That shocked and saddened me. He had such potential in his future. He leaves behind a baby daughter, Matilda.
They haven't released cause of death yet.

I was quite surprised when I heard this too. :( He was certainly a very talented actor. May God be with his family and loved ones.

I heard about this just a few hours ago, I was shocked as well. The first movie I ever saw him in was "A Knight's Tale." He was very talented, handsome and young too :( Sending prayers for his family and friends...

I think he did his best work in 10 Things I Hate About You. Never saw Brokeback Mountain. RIP.

I KNOW!
I truely enjoyed some of his work.
A Knights Tale is one of my FAVORITE movies! I love it!!
I've never seen Broke Back Mnt...Hubby says he doesn't need to see it--- ---but I liked 10 things I hate about you, too!
There was just something about his SMILE...you know???
What a shame.
I read that Jack Nicholson warned him that playing the Joker (in the new Batman Movie) might leave him disturbed..and even Heath was quoted as saying he thought the character was demented, but it was fun to do that as a change. Well, guess it left more of an imprint on him than he thought. Sleepless nights are a pain.
I for one do NOTthink he killed himself. if anything, it was more likely an accidental overdose. What a shame, and what a waste of good, RAW talent.
Hollywood doesn't have many of that to spare!

Today on Oprah, she was interviewing Daniel Day Lewis and in the middle of his interview, he said he felt unsettled and needed to say something. . he spoke with such kindness about this fellow actor he had never met but loved his work. . it was touching. . and he hoped his Heath's family was able to grieve. Unfortunately every station were having 'the story' about him with cameras at the funeral home. . .
man, it's infuriating that they aren't allowed to greive without tons of cameras stalking them. . .
When I first saw Heath Ledger, I thought he looked like a blond Mato . . (of Indigenous). . both are very beautiful men.
I saw most things he was in, and loved Heath Ledger and his off-beat way of life. . . so sad this is the story. Reminds me of River Phoenix, another brilliant young actor. . .gone too soon.
Thanks for starting this thread Belle . . .

It's always shocking when a young person who seems to have everything ends up passing away so young. It's very sad. :(

Heather Ledger was a wonderful actor. It's going to be eerie to watch 'Dark Knight' come out, knowing he is deceased. Tasina, I too, first thought of River when I learned of Heath's death. I was such a big fan of River's and am now a big fan of Joaquin Phoenix's. I loved watching any movie with Heath Ledger in it. He was fascinating to watch. I could tell choosing his roles were very important to him.
I hope all who knew him and loved him, find their way through this tragedy. I fervently hope little Matilda finds her way easily enough without her Father.
