"MY GUITAR IS MY CANVAS," SAYS HENRY Garza of Los Lonely Boys. "When I play, it's like a big painting, and I have all these different colors to choose from. Like. I've got a little B.B. King color, a little Stevie Ray color, a little Jimi Hendrix, and a little Ritchie Valens, and when I mix them together, that's what makes me. I'm not afraid to say those guys are my influences and my teachers. I'm not trying to be those guys, but I definitely learn from them every time I hear their music."
"Henry Garza's guitar-playing borders on spectacular, as he steps out of the shadows of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Carlos Santana to rock to his own tone at the end of "Living My Life." Besides being a flat-out ripper, the eldest Garza displays a great sense of melody in his solos. His resurrection of the electric blues guitar hero is quite stunning."

Debra do you know the name for the powder blue guitar?
Gee, sorry, I don't, but I just know there's gotta be someone on the forum who does.
Here's the above article in a bigger print---
By Michael Ross
Amidst acres of soundalike guitar-pop and angst-meets-anger metal, Los Lonely Boys' joyous blend of sibling harmony vocals and SRV-style guitar soloing stands out like a daisy in the desert. Guitarist Henry Garza's south-of-the-border charisma and serious Strat chops helped the boys reach the upper rungs of the pop ladder and forge musical friendships with stars from Willie Nelson to Carlos Santana.
Garza's rig is in the classic Stevie Ray Vaughan-style blues vein. It may or may not be due to his heritage, but he favors Mexican Fender Strats--all stock except for the white one, which has Seymour Duncan lipstick pickups. To help prevent string breakage, Garza's tech, Ish, (short for Ishmael), strips insulation off 14-gaugeelectrical wire, puts it over Garza's strings, and slides it down to where they make contact with the bridge plate, a trick long employed by Jeff Beck. His amps include three Marshall JCM 2000s (a spare sits behind the amp line), running into two Tone Tubby 4x12s. For his clean tone, the guitarist uses two Fender Twins with Jensen speakers. A Fender reverb unit adds ambience to the Marshalls. Garza's unadorned tone employs only two effects, a Vox wah and an Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer.

This is a new guitar that Henry played at the Mescalero show. It could be the one Ringo gave him. It still doesn't have a cross sticker on it.

Unless Henry has two powder blue guitars, that is Blue Haven. (At least that's what a stage hand told us after a show earlier this year.)

Henry brought out the blond Strat Oct 5th in LA. He said it was a birthday gift from Ringo (then JoJo said - I got one too....). JoJo did mention in New Orleans that he had gotten a guitar for his birthday too.

Check out this interesting post I found on Fender.com....what a great idea!!
Maybe if enough of us write them, they might do it!!!!

like many other los lonely boys and henry garza fans i want to see a henry garza signature strat released. henry is awesome at customizing his own guitars.
his main guitar is a mexican standard strat body (sunburst)
60's style neck
and texas special pickups
i want to use this post to let the people at fender guitars and possibly the fender custom shop know that los lonely boys and henry garza fans want to see his guitar released. henry's customization is always awesome but with the fender custom shop they can make something truly amazing.
if you want to see this happen post your support!!!!

Here's a video of NMAW with it.

Found on an internet blog---
....front man and lead guitarist, Henry Garza is the next evolution of the guitar hero archetype. His playing freely exhibits the influence of Vaughn, Santana, Clapton, Rickie Valens, Skynyrd and others, yet he is not merely a mime; his is the "musical burrito", more than the sum of its parts. Synthesis. Evolution. And he can ripp it up like nobody's business!

Henry plays with a combo of fingers and pick, at the same time. And if you study the tabs of his music, it is very difficult to imitate. I have studied all the blues greats, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, BB king, and steve ray, and none of them do what he does, so effortlessly. Alot of people say, if you close your eyes, you think its Stevie Ray. But I think he has gone beyond what his influences have done. It is totally origional. We talk alot about how he looks and the beauty of his guitars, but the real beauty lies within his awesome talent. LOVE YOU HENRY!!!!! :)

"Henry - the eldest of the Garzas - rises above merely imitating his influences to create a style all his own."
- John Kosik, Tucson Citizen
(Regarding Henry Garza) "... not since Carlos Santana took the baton from Richie Valens nearly 40 years ago, has anyone done it with so much firepower and finesse."
-Thoughts from Joe Nick Patoski
"Henry Garza, meanwhile, makes his presence felt with several searing guitar solos and plenty of nimble fills. His playing has prompted a number of writers to proclaim him as the next great Texas guitarist, following in the footsteps of such legends as Freddie King, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and brothers Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan."
- Alan Sculley
"I love that I’m inspirational to guitarists or people that love music. To be able to be influential upon the youth, I feel real proud of doing that. It feels like having a big responsibility, too, because now a lot of people are paying attention. It gives me an opportunity to tell my story, you know what I mean?"

Wow, that man has some beautiful hands, doesn't he? Well, I just thought I'd post a couple of pics. I was in Boston this past weekend for my daughter and since I was so close, I just HAD to go to the "First Act" store to see Henry's guitar, "El Musico". I took some pics of his, and also saw Jojo's Bass. I asked the guy if he was here when the boys were there, and he said, "Yep, They were really great guys!" Then I asked if a 6 string bass was unusual, and he said that you usually play a 4 string, maybe a 5 string, but 6 string is not the normal bass. He said Jojo is a great bass player. Of course I had to agree with him!!! I also saw some other guitars..... Here's some pics...

I was checkin out the new guitars. (The blue one and the brown? one) They're Fender Strats, but the thing is, they're not regular strats. They're like some Custom Strat. As a matter of fact, I've never even seen those colors on a Strat. If I find out any more info on them, I'll pass the info along.
