Howdy. As this new site gets organized, it might be a good idea to introduce ourselves. Some of us have returned with new User IDs, or have been absent for a while. Others might be brand spanking new. So, give us a shout out and tell us a little sum'n about yourself. :)
When did you first hear and/or see LLB?
Where do you live?
Just how bad a case of Onda-itis do you have?
Hi Belle,
I'll start...my hubby heard "Heaven" on the radio in Oct. 04, and told me about it. He said 'you are going to LOVE this song' So I finally got to hear it and I almost died. He got me the cd for Xmas and I was amazed and loved every one of their songs, and of course, they blew my mind. That is when I got "LLB-itis" & "Onda-itis" I did a search and read up on them. I must say when I saw their pictures, I did die (hubby revived me). Needless to say, that is when I fell in love with Henry. Saw my first concert in Tampa in 05 and have seen them 6 times...which is definitely not enough. Out of the 6 times, I have been fortunate to have 3 M&Gs. This is one of the most beautiful feelings in this world when you meet The Boys. So genuine and sweet.
There is 'no other band' as good as the Los Lonely Boys..in my humble opinion.

I had the opportunity to go see LLB recently and became immediately hooked. So I went out and bought the Live at Filmore CD and Sacred CD and Crossroads/CottonField DVD. Now I am here with you guys! Hope to make friends and learn lots more. I am not that great at these computer things~but I am learning! :)

August Sun, Welcome! Glad to have you here. The Boys' music is great! So are they. As for the folks on this forum, we're not called 'loopies' for nuttin'. :D Jump in and make yourself at home. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. A lot of us are learning the ropes on this new site, so don't feel alone.

Welcome August Sun! It is good to have you here. Please call on any of us if you have questions.
Ok, about me. First of all I am Bela with one "l" not "belle". Belle is in Texas and I am in Massachusetts. Some people get us confused.
I first heard the Boys driving home from work in the Spring of 2004. I heard Heaven on the radio and wondered who was singing. It was love at first sound. I didn't rush out right away to get the CD, though. (I have done that too many times only to find out that the song on the radio is the only one I like by the particular band.) I heard Heaven a few more times and then More than Love. That one convinced me. I got the CD and was amazed! I loved every single song on it. I remember my husband looking at me and saying "It must be good by the look on your face". Next, I started to do searches on the internet to find out more about the Band. I found the original fan forum in October of 2004 but didn't officially join until November of that year.
I became so addicted to the forum that I would check in three or four times a day. Through the Forum I heard about Blue Cat Blues and the Live from Austin DVD. Once I saw that DVD I wanted to see a live show so badly that I couldn't stand it. There was nothing scheduled in the Northeast but Mark (stratfan) told me about a concert coming up in Austin on 5/4/05. Well that was all I could think about. At first my husband wouldn't hear of going down to Texas, but I kept asking him and finally had my new friends on the forum all write to him to convince him to drive me to Texas.
On 5/4/05 at the Backyard in Austin, TX I saw my first live LLB concert. The next day we drove to San Angelo to see the Boys perform in their home town. That is the concert that appears on Cottonfields & Crossroads DVD. While in San Angelo, I got to meet Tio Lupe and Susie, Bud and Bud Lite, and had my picture taken with Enrique and Lupe. The next day we toured all the places that I had seen on the enhanced CD--the church, the old houses, Steel Penny Pub, etc.
Now I am a veteran of 29 concerts and hope to see many, many more. Just as important, I have made many good friends throughout the country as a result of my "passion".
I also love to take pictures of the Boys. If I am at a concert, I will be sure to post a set list and a link to my pictures.

Wow, Bela. I knew you had Onda-itis in a major way, but... ;)
I s'pose I oughta say something. I didn't know about the Grammys or "Heaven" or anything about LLB. One evening in the winter of 04, I saw the band on Jay Leno. Dang! I about slid off the couch, they were so good. Talk about vibes coming through the TV set!!
I'd never been one to join much of anything, but I found the forum online and spent the next few months just lurking as a guest. Finally, April 1, 05, I joined the fan forum and the Street team. I met some great La Ondans online and began planning my first concert with their help. Texarkana, April 23.
On the way to the show (it's about a five hour drive), DH and I got into a 5 car pileup on the freeway. We were car #4 and, of all of them, we were the only one that got totaled. (Fortunately, we didn't get hurt.)
After the police and EMT came and went, we were towed half an hour CLOSER to the venue. Sitting in the car rental place, I convinced DH to keep driving to the show. "Otherwise, we'll just sit at home tonight, freaking out over losing the truck and the accident and everything."
I couldn't believe it when he agreed. So, we jumped in our rental and proceeded onward. When we finally arrived (much later than planned), I figured we'd get stuck in the back-40 somewhere, because it was 'first come-first serve' seating.
I wound up front row, at Henry's feet. (At the time, I didn't know what a 'righty' or 'lefty' was. I am sooo a 'lefty')
Anyway, Henry melted those strings, his notes pouring over us like sunshine, soft kisses, bolts of lightning, tears. Wherever he wanted to take us, that's where we went. I got so lost in the music -- and I've been more than just a little addicted ever since.

Hi, I'm Christina AKA Cree to most folks - bet most of y'all didn't know I had a real name huh? If you're wondering how I ended up with a nickname like Cree - well let's just say it involves the WWF...we'll just leave it at that. ;)
I've been a member since 9/2004. I was holed up with my parents and sister and her son for 3 days during Hurricane Frances in Florida. The only TV station we could all agree on was CMT. This video kept coming on playing this song "Heaven" and I thought they were pretty good. So almost the whole next week I couldn't go to work b/c our office had no electricity (thanks Frances). One day I went to Wal-mart to look for a new Toby Keith CD...and guess who was on the top 10 rack?? LLB. I was like "hey...I recognize those guys!" I picked it up on a whim (which I never do with CDs, b/c I usually wait until a few songs have been released first).
When I popped that CD in my car stereo and the first few notes of "Senorita" spilled out...oh man, did I melt right into my seat. The first thing I said to my Mother was, "These guys are gonna be up for a grammy one day." And for a while I didn't even think they were all that cute (hold the tomatoes please), until I saw a picture of Ringo with his 100-watt smile...I was LLB toast after that.
So I googled them on the net and found their fan site. My very first PM was from Tio Lupe, wishing us well here in FL, saying he would pray for me during the terrible hurricane season we were having. The fan site has not been able to get rid of me since. These guys are wonderful. I've had the pleasure of meeting them, though I was terribly tongue tied. I won't forget my experience with them. I'm thankful for the friendships I've found here, thankful for the generosity, compassion and kindness from the patrons of this fan club. With fans like these, LLB can't go wrong.
I just wanna say: THANKS HURRICANE FRANCES!

BTW...so if lefties are for Henry and Righties are for Jojo...
where does that leave Ringo? Does it mean I'm a centerRing-O? 'Cause Ringo is center stage.
Or am I a Drum-ette? BWAHAAHA (okay, maybe that wasn't too funny)
Okay , here's my story. I first saw Los lonely Boys while channel surfing in early 2004, they were on Austin City Limits, and I stopped and was transfixed on Henry's guitar playing. I just sat there amazed. I always would ask people if they had heard of them, and it was always, "What? Who? NO." I would say how much I loved them etc.. then Heaven hit the airwaves and I was so happy and everyone knew them then! So I took my daughter down to Jacksonville, Fl for a superbowl show, we were front and left, right on the rail, in front of Henry. Needless to say, you know how I felt when that show was over, I was totally addicted. So much so that I bought a strat, and started to play myself. I'm getting better, by the way. But anyway, six shows later and many miles and smiles, I've met them three times, and every time its the best thing ever. I have butterflies in my stomach for a week afterwards! So I'm still going strong, that honeymoon phase has lasted forever, and I'lll love them forever! :)

Hi everyone and welcome August Sun! In December 03 a local station here started playing "Real Emotions" (Thanks WTTS! They are STILL going strong playing the boys!). I heard it a couple of times and loved it. I remembered the band name but it didn't motivate me enough to look further...yet.
Then one late night in January I was channel surfing. I flipped quickly past Conan O'Brien, saw a glimpse of dark hair and a heard kicking guitar lick. Was that "Indigenous"? (Another band I really liked). Flip back to Conan. It was the first strains to "Heaven". After about 30 seconds I knew these were the same guys I had heard with "Real Emotions". I was captivated by that performance. Next day I searched several stores to find the CD. It hasn't come out of my rotation for very long since that day. I searched the internet to see what I could find. They didn't have a web site yet, but there was a yahoo group. Many of us first found each other there and started our live show trading.
We were so excited when the original web site started and we had a community forum to go to! The music and message these three brothers have given us has impacted us in ways we never dreamed of. And here we are today, both starting fresh, and continuing down the same path. I've been throughout the midwest to shows, and made 1 fabulous trip to Texas and OK for a few. I can't wait to hit the road and meet up with y'all again!

Hi all you faithful fans out there
My name is Kim. I registered as Kimann as there is already a Kim registered. I first heard the song "heaven" on the radio a few times and really liked it. One day at work I decided I would find out who sung it and maybe buy the cd. I found LLB's videos on CMT for heaven, more than love and velvet sky. I proceeded to play them quite a bit at work till everybody told me "just go buy the cd why don't ya." I did! :D Unfortunately I didn't find this site until July of 2006. I have seen two LLB shows and am definitely planning on multiple shows in 2008. I am addicted to this site and to their dvd "texican style." It's the next best thing to seeing the boys live. I have really enjoyed meeting bela, amy, jake, lisa, lori, roadking at LLB shows. Hope to meet more of you next year and maybe finally meet the boys. ;)

Hi everyone. Nice to finally get in.
I'm Rita (formerly komodo) and I fell in love with Los Lonely Boys in June 2004 when I saw them perform at the Taos Solar Music Festival. I have been a loyal fan since then.

Hello, my name is Sue and I'm from Michigan. I guess I'm a bit of a late-comer since I hadn't heard about LLB until summer 2006. I had heard the song Heaven before but didn't pay much attention to who the band was. In August 06 my local PBS station played the Live at the Filmore concert during the pledge drive and I decided to check it out. I was immediately blown away by their talent, humility, and of course, good looks ;)
The next week I went out and bought everything they had out there and found the website and the forum. I saw them live for the first time about a year ago and then this past summer. Hoping for many more opportunities to see them in the future!

Oh boy! We all get to tell it all over again!
I'm Mark, aka AustinStratFan (just think, you'll figure it out), and I'm an LLB addict.
How did I get this way?
I'm at work, and a co-worker tells me that there's this band I've got to see...seems she'd seen them as part of her birthday party. She tells me their name, and I look them up on the web. I read all about the great stage show, particularly playing guitar one handed, but I don't really go listen to any music. But I know they play blues...and I'm a sucker for good blues.
So along comes Cinco De Mayo, Monday, May 5, 2003. I slip out of the office and head for Fiesta Shores here in Austin. LLB is set to play at 6PM - closing act, facing the west, into the sun and the heat. There's maybe 50 people there.
They played a lot of songs - nothing stuck in my mind - I was not writing down set lists in those days - but I'm sure Velvet Sky and Nobody Else and other things were played.
So, I'm standing 10 feet in front of Henry's stacks...when he lights up the intro to Onda. I'm thinking...oh yeah, a little Santana. But he goes on. And me, Santana consumer, I'm thinking - whoa, how did I miss this Santana song? And it hits me...this is ORIGINAL. WHO ARE THESE GUYS?
Well, my coworker, who also came to the show, comes thru the crowd and whonks me in the arm and whispers "close your mouth, people are staring!".
Let's just say it was all over for me that day.
In rapid succession, I saw LLB play the Saxon Pub, 11PM smoking show, for an empty tip jar...Blues on the Green...Austin City Limits. Could not get enough no matter what I did! The Yahoo group; the VH1 group; the CMT group; anywhere I could post, and reading as much as I could touch. Oh, and making Onda friends (although we were not Onda in the beginning) everywhere. LLBta2Grl (Monica), LosLonelyGirl (Amy), Boss Loopie Dee, JWINTX2003 and tons of others were people I talked to for hours each day!
I was also bidding for LLB items on eBay. The LLB / loslonelyboys.com sticker, and Uno Demo were still in the future, but we were all bidding against each other for shirts and show posters and the like.
And then it hit me...I've got to put up a website. The second site (yes there was an older one...more later on that) was good, but I wanted lyrics and photos and memorabilia and all kinds of stuff remembered. So llbfanclub.com was born as the online museum for the boys with Kevin and Gigifina's help, while I let the forum sites carried the load of discussion groups. LosLonelyGirl became our resident artist - the first of many - creating the Loopie and Lonelie logos, show posters, art for shirts and charity events - heavens, she poured out heart and mind for us!
Not long after that, the Austin surge happened, and Austintacious Onda was more-or-less born at Waterloo Records (Monica and I and a few others were allowed to go in early), the back to back shows at the Backyard where LLB opened for Willie, and capped off by the Auditorium Shores show. The Heaven single and four song EP started us on the road to LLB addiction (although I doubt any of us really knew about Sofaking or the even older Uno Demo at that point). Fan made swag also began to show up in good quantities about this time, although the SoCal team had been making stuff for a while.
The first Street Team badge was born then...and led to the others we now craft annually.
The rest is kind of a blur... :-)
And it's been one incredible ride since then - Onda now boasts almost 15,000 members, and I can't conceive of a world where I don't talk to Onda each and every day - my large and dear family without whom I'd not know what to do, and who I enjoy seeing when I can get out of Tejas and out to a show in another part of the country.
Along the way, some of the family has dropped back into real life. Sadly for me in many ways - for example, LosLonelyGirl - known to many of you - is one that I miss dearly. She used to crack us all up by changing her sig - like LosWhyWontTheCameraWorkGirl...but we've got new Onda, truly wonderful people who I treasure just as much.
My coworker - no, my friend - sometimes wonders if she contributed to the birth of a monster - but not really. (wink) La Onda will have to say how true that is....
If you read this far, there's still work to be done. I help edit the LLB Wikipedia entries, wrote the LLB Guide on eBay, and try to push all of us to call in requests to radio, and do whatever else can be done to build LLB presence out there. We've still got a long sweet run ahead of us, team!
Thanks - thanks - thanks, to La Onda, the LLB team, ArtAttack, and most of all, Henry, Jojo, and Ringo. Your music brought us together as familia.
Viva LLB!

Mamacita Ruth here. The "Ruth" part from my real name, and my daughter dubbed me "Mamacita", her nickname for me. Mine's kind of a strange tale....
I first heard the Boys when a cousin, who was stationed on an Air Force base in Tennesee had come home here to Nebraska for a family reunion. I went with him on an errand in his car to the store, and he had this tape in his cassette tape player. I interrupted our conversation and asked him "who is this? It's not Santana...I don't recognize 'em, but they're good." He said he couldn't remember what they call themselves, but he had seen them off-base at a club. He said the tape was full of other acts he had seen and I could borrow it if I wanted. Well, I did, and I ended up replacing his tape because I wore out this very small section of the tape, playing these "guys" over and over. Still didn't know who they were, never did hear an intro on the tape. He did tell me they were from Texas, he knew that much. Two guitarists and a drummer. He thought they were called the "Texas brothers, or Tex-e-can brothers" (just how he said it). Always kind of looked for them whenever a new song that was similar would come on, but never did hear them anywhere, so after awhile, just forgot about it.
Fast-forward to the Grammys, 2005. I just flipped the channel, and was getting ready to walk out of the room, when I heard the strains of "Heaven". I had heard it on the radio, but with no cable or computer, I had not been able to follow-up my instinct that this might be the band I had heard years before. I loved the song, so I turned around to listen to the announcer say they had WON! I watched and I remember thinking, "this has GOT to be them, I just know it." So, the next day I set about picking up their CD (in Nebraska, only ONE to find) and I snuck time on the work computer trying to find out what I could. The more I learned, the more I became convinced this was them. I almost NEVER listen to a new CD all the way through the first time. I listened to theirs a dozen times before I sent an email to my daughter. "Did you watch the Grammys last night?" "No," she responded and I went on to tell her about "Heaven" winning. She agreed she had heard the song and loved it, but didn't know anything about the band. I told her, "well, you have GOT to listen to this CD --- I can't stop playing it". She said, "Really. Well, I'll order it from Amazon and it'll be here when I get back." She was leaving town on a ski trip. So, even though she joined the LLB fan club before I did, I HOOKED up to Los Lonely Boys first!! :p
First live show was in August, 2005 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. I already had a bad case of Onda-itis before the show, but the next morning, Kelly and I got to meet Henry by chance outside the hotel with no one else around. He spent about 25 minutes with us, talking with us and signing his autograph, taking pictures. I actually could talk to him, because I wasn't awe-struck yet. But after that meeting, I totally was. I was so impressed with what a sweet, sincere, kind young man he was, I was hooked from that point on. I thought "if all three of you are as sweet as you, that's it for me".
Bought a computer. Joined the Fan Club. Created a fan website (mamacitaruth.com) devoted exclusively to the Boys. Transformed a whole room in my house to the "LLB Cave" and my car to the "Ondamobile". Have crafted large volumes of swag for concerts and shipped LLB care packages all over the world. Not many LLB concert dates in Nebraska, so Kelly (diggintheboys) and I became traveling Loopies. So far, we've been to Texas, Colorado, Missouri, Iowa and Wyoming for LLB shows. My co-workers tease me that they never know where I'm headed on my annual week vacation, but they always know it's LLB-related.
My story's not as interesting and heartwarming as Mark's or some others, but my total addiction is complete and forever. God bless the Garza brothers for the wholeness they brought to my life.

February 13, 2005 is a very sentimental night for me...The Grammys!! A few days later, I picked up the CD with Heaven, Senorita, Tell Me Why....The rest is history!! At long last, it was refreshing to be into a band that was around my age. Just when I thought that long hair on dudes was long gone, I saw the most bea-u-ti-ful hair on Henry :o ...years earlier I was into hard rock bands with long hair. Not just that but the bluesy-country- rock-pop sound made me fall instantly in LOVE!!! These boys are here to stay! :) :)

Wow, it's really cool to read all your stories. I've know most of yinz for a while now, but never really knew how you came to be here. And welcome to August Sun, and any other new members! I hope you guys find what we have found here, and stick around for a while.
I guess I should share my story, now. Well, I had heard Heaven on the radio. I liked the song, but never really thought much about it. I would leave it on if I came across it on the radio, but I never really did any research on the band.
Every summer at a park near Pittsburgh, they have free concerts on Friday or Saturday nights. It was always fun to go to these. I happened to be looking through the list of artists and saw the name Los Lonely Boys. I recognized the name from the song Heaven I had heard on the radio. I mentioned it to my parents, convincing them that we should go. It was free, and I liked the song Heaven, so I figured it would be fun, even though I knew nothing about the band, or any of their music.
My mom used to be a wedding coordinator, and she had a wedding rehearsal that Friday night that LLB was playing at the park (June 10th, 2005). The church is about halfway between our house and the park. We decided we would just head out to the park after the rehearsal. We ended up getting stuck in crazy slow traffic, and were a bit late to the show. We didn't miss any of LLB - the opening act, Martin Sexton, was playing his last few songs - but we ended up near the very back of the lawn, and just kind of hung out back at the car with our picnic. The Boys started playing, and just totally captivated me, totally had my attention. My dad and I walked down towards the front of the lawn to get a better look at these guys for a bit. We didn't get too terribly close, but we were off on the right. My dad and I finally walked back to the car, and I believe that's when Henry was starting his intro to Onda. I don't really remember any of the songs they played that night, because I didn't know any of them, but I just remember hearing Onda (well, I remember the song, and later found out that it was Onda) and knowing that I had to look these guys up and find out more about them.
Now here's the part that I could just kick myself for! Towards the end of the show, it started raining...a pretty good rain, too. So everyone is scrambling towards their cars. We ran for our car, and ended up sitting in our car, in horrible traffic, for a very long time. We could hear the end of the concert, though. They played Heaven (I remember hearing Ringo ask everyone for a big H*ll Yeah!), and End of a New Beginning. And I missed it, sitting in our car. EOANB is definitely something everyone needs to witness live at least once (I got my chance this past summer). I later found out that the Boys came out afterwards and just hung around and met with fans, all while I was frustrated with the traffic, trying to leave. I have since gotten the chance to meet Jojo, though. It was great! I stumbled over my words a bit, but it was so cool to finally meet him! Hopefully one of these days I will get to meet Henry and Ringo too. (I might have a little trouble speaking intelligently around Henry though, haha.)
But ever since that "fateful" evening, I have been totally and completely hooked. The next day I searched the internet, and ended up finding the fan forum. I looked around for a while, and maybe a week or so later finally joined. I then went out and bought their CD. I was definitely instant love! I am so glad I have found this music, this band, and have made so many good friends through them. Ruth, like you, we don't get the Boys around here much. We plan our vacations around concerts, too. I have seen the Boys twice in Virginia, and once in Baltimore, so far. They were also back a Pittsburgh this past summer. So far I have seen them 5 times, and hopefully there will be many more to come. At the most recent one in Balimore, I finally got a first row experience. Nothing like it, I tell you. And I was on Henry's side (I guess that makes me a "leftie", eh?)
Just a side note...Cree, I didn't think they were all that cute at first either. Haha.
Okay, I guess I will stop rambling now and go to bed. :p Have a good one, everybody!

Ok, My turn. I'm Rosie from Mass. I've been a fan since 2005. I saw the boys at the "Big E" Eastern States Expo. I was amazed, and have been a fan ever since. When I saw Henry play "man to beat" & "Real Emotions" I had goosebumps. It was like seeing what I would play IF I COULD. It was like a part of me came alive. Sounds weird, but it's the only way I can describe it. Anyways, I have seen the boys in 7 states, and 15 times in 2 years, and I'm going to keep going. It's never enough. I have met some great friends here. I guess I'm addicted? Is there a 12 step program for LLB? Hope to see some newbies around the boards.

I'm Kellie (was Newfan). I don't have an elaborate story, but definitely one that shows how important simple street teaming is.
My hubby had gone to Music Midtown, a festival we used to have in ATL. Some guy handed him a 1/4 page size yellow piece of paper with a little ad for LLB on it. He just said if you love what you just heard, you'll REALLY love these guys.
Came home, mentioned I could get him that cd for his b'day (the first cd). I got it. It sat here for a week or so. Finally he opened it. I heard something from the other side of the house, came back to see what it was, and saw the tiny clip of LLB doing EOANB on my computer screen.
Instantly hooked!!!!
I think that was 3 or 4 years ago... the time is going by quickly...

Hey all! Welcome "old" fans and new! I'm Kelly...most of you know me as DigginTheBoys. I am currently trying to get my username changed, but having difficulty. Hopefully the "Care Team" will be able to rub out the snags for me soon. I live in Nebraska, which feels like a tundra this time of year. Thankfully, I have LLB to keep me warm!
Well, all I can say is I've been hooked on LLB since the beginning of '05. I watched them perform "Heaven" at a bowl game on tv in January, and I really liked their sound and their looks! My husband, who was just my boyfriend at that time, is Mexican, and when I saw these guys I thought they looked like him. I didn't know if they were Mexican or what, but I was surprised that they looked Latino and that they had this amazing bluesy-rock thing going on. Unfortunately, since I had come in late, I didn't catch their name, so I forgot about them....momentarily. I know, I know, how could I forget?!?!
Shortly after, my mother and I were shopping in Target one day and one of us, though I can't remember who, saw their CD. When I saw their picture on the cover, I knew it was them. I was like, "yeah, these are the guys that I saw on tv!" Sadly, I put the CD back down, because I don't usually buy CD's unless I know that I will love at least half of the songs. Haha, SILLY ME!
Well, soon after, they won their first Grammy, mom bought that CD and let me listen to it.....and the rest is history. So, officially, it was February of '05 when I got hooked. Then, of course, I had to get online to see what I could find out about them, and I signed up on the fan forum pretty quickly. Since then, being a fan and a member of the Street Team has not only been an incredible experience, it's been a complete alteration of my life! Seriously, my husband sometimes wonders if I love the Boys more than I love him! :D Well....it's a close race! ;)
Anyway, I'm so glad to be a part of La Familia, and I'm so grateful to LLB for pulling me in, literally, with their music and their heart. I have been wonderfully blessed with their music, their inspiration and their fans. H, J & R - Te quiero mucho con todo mi corazon. Dios te bendiga hoy y siempre. Also, thanks to Ish and Ian, who have each played a part in my amazing concert experiences. You guys are wonderful, te quiero. Lastly, thanks to Gigi, Kevin and the moderators who make it possible for us to come here and share our passion. Thank you!
In Onda Love,

Hey Kelly, welcome to the new forum! I knew that had to be you....when I saw your new username, I thought.."Looks familiar". Glad you're back!
Well, unfortunately, just a coupla days ago, I got locked out...what I mean by that is when I logged in as cyberfan and my password, I was informed that my membership had expired. It was like WTF! I already paid a month earlier. So I called the CS number for the fan club...turns out that when I paid for this membership, I chose the username LLB cyberfan...I was having a bit of password trouble too, so that got reset, so....HERE I AM!!! ;)

Hey all!
I'm Rita...or Bopmom---or just Mommy. (I'll answer to 'Hey You" most times too!!! hehehe)
To those who don't KNOW me , I became interested in LLB in 2005 while folding laundry! LOL I had videos playing on the TV, and on came Heaven. Henry's HAIR caught my attention 1st off( I have a "thing" for long hair)-- and I thought Jojo looked like a Really Young Wayne Newton (from his 'I love Lucy" days! LOL).
My 1st concert was here in Vermont (their ONLY one ever!) where I gave them t-shirts I painted for them & thier kids. I gave them to a venue guy, who later told me the Boys just LOVED them. I was so thrilled, I CRIED! Hubby laughed at me. My 2nd concert was a few days later, & we took the kids(we have 4 of them!) along to the Bie E. I met my very 1st loopie friends there (carolyn & sara! as well as Tisina!), and my youngest son got a pick from Ish--what a thrill! After the show, Jojo stood on the steps of their bus and yelled out "MmmBopnMommy, come see us"... But the security guys wouldn't LET me(us) go in his direction, and one even 'threatened' me by putting his hand on his weapon!! LOL Needless to say, we left quietly--hahha...but I was SO disapointed! :o(
I've gone as far as Virginia to see them.......and last year we did a 4fer4 here in the New England area, doing 4 shows in 4 days...following the Boys on the road. It was truely AWESOME!
I like to make things--- SWAG, friendly gifts, etc. I've made the Boys their own set of DOLLS- which Joey claimed as his very own, and wouldn't SHARE with his two brothers!! LOL (he even SLEPT w/ them in his bunk in the bus! A little birdy named OSCAR & Ringo told me this! hahaha)
I'm a crafty person, and people around here seem to think that's a nifty thing. It just embarasses me, but hey------*shrugs*
LLB has changed my perspective on life. I was a do-everything-for-everyone-else kind of person, but now I have chosen to do THIS for me. LLB gave me back MY life. Am i am SO very glad to have such wONDAful Loopie friends whom I've met right here on this fan forum(okay- the OTHER one, but you know what I mean!). Thank you Everyone for being so special in my life.
Here is to another great year ONDA road w/ the Boys!
Total number of concerts seen: 9 = 2 in 2005, 3 in 2006, 4 in 2007
(hmmm...does that mean i get to do 5 this year?? yippie! I can't WAIT!hahaha)

Hello All:
I've met quite a few on the ONDA fans from the concerts last year. The first time I heard the boys was on a day in early 2004. I was in the kitchen, the TV in the other room was loud and on our local news, KTLA Channel 5. When they go to a commercial break, they always play a song, also along with the name of the song and group, well, let me tell you, I heard this awesome song I'd never heard before, strong guitar and blue-zie!! I ran into the other room and just caught the name of the group and song, which was "Heaven." OMG, I was instantly hooked, went out and bought the CD before even hearing the whole thing, because I just knew by that one song that the whole CD would be good, OMG - was I right !! My first concert was when the boys performed at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, October, 2004. I wish I could see them beyond the California tours, (only been as far as Las Vegas) but I am grateful for seeing them when they are in my area. So I'm truly looking forward to seeing the boys this year and ONDA !

Hello! Great topic here. Great way to get to know each other.
I had my first encounter with The Boys in 2004. I was working for an advertising agency in San Francisco and I needed to escort my Toyota clients to these accoustic, live, intimate performances Alice Radio 97.3 holds. Toyota is the main sponsor. My clients couldn't make it and so I went with a coworker and her friends. I've heard "Heaven" a few times but didn't have their album. What an awesome time. The Boys were playing and I got to ride the elevator down with Henry and Ringo. That's where I first shook their hands...in a crammed, itty bitty elevator. Sweet. They were cool. We got outside and JoJo was having a ciggy. We all chatted for a bit and I loved that they were so down to earth and hilariously funny. I had one of those silly disposable cameras and had my coworker take a photo of the four of us but it never came out. Darnit. Maybe a few months later, my boyfriend at the time was given a burned copy of their debut album and I fell in love with it. Especially after seeing them at The Masonic 2-3 months later, 3 rows back - a night I'll never forget... and it was free. Another Toyota deal.
So, since then, I'm at 19 shows. And being at least 6 rows or closer for the majority of the concerts, it has turned me into a concert snob. It's up close or nothing! Looking forward to three more in Oregon. That'll be the farthest I've gone to see them...and we're driving. With my OndaRoadMate, Tasina. Sooo very excited.
I live in Hayward - a 10 minute drive from the Oakland airport in California.
How bad do I have Onda-itis? Well, I definitely have BAD about a month or two after the concerts...then it's back to reality with work, life, bills, responsibilities. Being with Onda is a great time and being at LLB concerts is such a high. Could it be, that they're my drug? There's nothing else like it.

Ok i've finally made it in here :D I had to sign in several times before it actually brought me where i wanted to be *whew*
My introduction.....
Warning: IT MAY BE LONG!
It all started out with my brother, Joethem, hes always the type of guy who loves to listen to every type of music that he can, he plays drums so he likes to try to learn the different beats... ok so well one day he gives me and my sister a cd - said Los Lonely Boys had a pic of 3 guys on it and i thought cool... my sister was on her way to drop me off at school *yes i was still in school  it seems so long ago now! * and well we both didnt say anything, i for one liked it enough - she usually says something if she likes it too but i didnt get a peep out of her. So i thought she didnt care much for it - next day it wasnt in the car - i thought man she MUST not have really liked them she doesnt have it in here again. This went on for a bout a week, i didnt want to make her listen to music she didnt like and i didnt wanna push getting the ride to school every morning
now i think that its funny that i can remember this day exactly - Feb 12, 2004 i had an appointment at a town thats 2-3 hours away ... i didnt have anyone to take me at all so i begged my older brother Duane and bribbed him with lunch at applebees to take me  We left early that morning and he brought along the portable DVD player we watched a movie i played the video game for a while and saw that there was a DVD in the holder - it said LOS LONELY BOYS i asked him if this was the same cd that Joe gave us - he said well its a DVD they did a live show and thats the same band but just live from somewhere in TX.....
I popped it in and on the way to Farmington NM i fell in love with the boys... ok im lying i fell in love with Jojo :D :o But i did love all of them so much! Henry's guitar playing was AWESOME - and Ringos smile was to die for! It wasnt until after i watched the extra features of the dvd that i made up my mind to find these guys and see what else i needed to learn! I got home that night and Lettie was home - i told her "sissy! you have to see these guys they are great!" i told her right off bat that she'd like henry which of course she did :) And next day i bought the album then did a google search found the Street Team and fell in love with the Loopies! I was a memeber of the ST before i did the public forum *the old version at that* i remember the first time that summer i saw them in Alb, i was so excited to make swag - i made postcards, and bought several glowsticks it was so so much fun! i met up with other Loopies and the rest is now HISTORY i aint goin NO WHERE! :D

:) Okay, this is what I remember.....I believe it was 2004, I had finally decided that it was time for me to take care of "ME", and I was driving to work from the Jr. College that I was attending. I was kinda having a bad day at school and then I had to go to work, and I was also thinking about the rest of the day of having to deal with my kids and the "husband". I was flipping through the radio stations and heard "Heaven" but didn't know who it was that was singing. All I knew was that I was intrigued and I had to find out who it was.
I later found out, (and I dont remember how),that the name of the group was Los Lonely Boys and I immediatley went out to Tower Records to pick up the CD. I was then in love with "Dime Amor" along with "Velvet Sky" and would blast it over and over as loud as I could everyday while I drove from school, to work, to get the kids, and home. Those two songs would cause me to cry all the time but it was so theraputic. I fell in love with the boys for different reasons. When "Sacred" came out, my new credo became "Orale`" and by then I was determined to see them live and try and meet them.
Not only can they cop it LIVE, they are the most humble, sweetest, coolest, loving, sincere bunch of guys on the planet. I just "LOVE" them and I will remain a Loopie for the rest of my living days. I thank Henry, JoJo, and Ringo for helping me get through those bad days, sad days, days of happiness, joy, and celebration. Don't know where any of us would be without you. See you on the road.....Baby Girl ;)

OMG Monica,
No wonder we get along so well. DIME Mi AMOR was my most bestest first favorite along with Velvet Sky.
and My Loneliness was played alot before Sacred came out, so I loved that. but when Sacred DID come out, Orale was the only one I hadn't heard and it became my credo as well. ..and will always be special to me since the boys sang it for me on my 50th show. .
what a blast.. . btw, just had my 58th show :D what fun!

Wow-had such a hard time getting back in here. Been around since 2004, used to be Malieleni on the old boards. Marielle is one of my nicknames, actually it's Marielle Belle, or Elle, and Malieleni I was told is my name in Hawaiian (thanks to my niece Malia) but my name is Mariellen :)
I'm not very vocal here, but always hanging around in the background, reading everyone's awesome stories and checking out the never ending supply of beautiful pics everyone always shares.
My first exposure to the boys was when Heaven was getting a lot of airplay-I went crazy every time I heard it-for some reason it was always the chorus I heard, and they NEVER announced who the band was at the end of the song-I finally googled the lyrics, followed the link to the fan forum (ha-the old orange one) bought the CD and have been hooked ever since.
One of my favorite memories is Grammy Night 2005-running back and forth from the computer to the TV as the boys played, and then WON-it was so amazing and exciting to share that moment with everyone online-and there was a record number of fans on the forum that night-hundreds!!
My first ever LLB show was to be a Jimmy Kimmel show, that was postponed due to the arrival of Henry's baby :D But we all made it back to JK on Valentine's 2005, soon after the Grammy win, for an amazing 3 song mini concert after their interview-it was so awesome, and it's where I met so many great SoCal fans for the first time-always fun to see everyone-in lines (gotta love the waiting-before and after) and at the shows!!
That's the short version of a long story :D Can't wait for the 2008 season and hopefully many more shows!!

there was some northern cali fans there as well :). We passed out 'goodie bags' at that show for fans in line . .I was glad to meet you there Mariellen

Yes, I remember Tasina-I had arrived so early, the same time as Debi, and we were surprised that someone had beat us there-it was you, and if I remember correctly, you had carpooled down to LA with Martha's son?
You had TONS of swag-I still have some of your buttons and magnets!
Poor Tasina-she tried to catch a nap in her car in the back parking lot; Debi and I were snooping around looking for the back entrance to the Jimmy Kimmel set and just as we passed the car where Tasina was napping, Debi's phone went off, loudly, and her Heaven ringtone had Tasina awake in seconds flat-hahaha-true Loopies don't sleep through LLB-even if it is just a ringtone!! :D :D
It was good to meet you too.....

Hello to all.
My name is Cindy....live in Deltona, FL......I had heard Heaven on the radio and thought wow I really like that song, but it didn't really go any further. Then a friend of mine who lives in MN mentioned LLB to me...she had bought the CD and said it was awesome. So I went out and bought the Heaven CD. A few months later I heard they were coming to Tampa, FL with Santana in May 05 so I called my girlfriend and said you have to come down and go see them with me...and that's just what we did, we were way in the back but it was awesome and I had the LLB~itis!! I have three kids, ages 8 (twins) and 11 so it's tough to travel all over to see the boys but everytime they have come to the Orlando area I'm there....I won a meet & greet with them from a local radio station, that was just the most awesome thing...they were so sweet, and I was just so excited I was speechless!! LOL
I saw them again at Mardi Gras at Orlando Universal Studios in 2/07....and just this past Friday night got the pleasure again to see them at HOB, this time I made my way up to front of stage, right behind all the LaOnda ladies....I was one of the screaming ones you heard from Debbie's phone!!! I was a little hoarse on the way home!!!! :p LOL

I'll try to make my re-introduction short and sweet. I've been a loyal fan since about June of 2004, when I first heard "Heaven" playing on my computer via Launchcast. I've made a whole lot of swag since then, and collected enough LLB treasures to fill an entire room in my house ("The Shrine")... but the most wonderful thing LLB has brought to my life is the good friends who have become like family to me. I love you guys!

I'm Dave, A.K.A. South Texas Rocker or STR. I chose that cyber-name about 12 years ago when the Internet was fairly new (shortly after Al Gore invented it).
I was/am a huge fan of classic Van Halen with David Lee Roth and of DLR's solo music.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v508/SouthTexasRocker/Van%20Halen%20DLR/VanFuingHalen.jpg
I joined that Internet fan community and later became a moderator on DLR's official website. That crashed and burned in 2001. I still occasionaly visit diamonddavidleeroth.com (a fan site). What a bunch of dysfunctional crazies those fans are! (Although... not as dysfunctional as the actual members of Van Halen).
I'm a huge classic rock, hard rock, and blues fan. In January of 2004, I was browsing through new cd's at a store and saw a poster of the first LLB cd. I read the band's name and figured it was a Tejano band. Then I saw the Strat in Henry's hand and his long hair. I thought, could this be a rock band? Lucky for me, there was a listening station with headphones. I heard the first few notes of Seņorita and it instantly got my attention. I listened to the rest of the song previews and decided I HAD to buy this cd. I hadn't bought a new cd in a couple of years. Nothing in rock music had gotten me excited in a long time. It all sounded the same to me. Until I heard Los Lonely Boys.
That day, I searched the Internet and found other fans. Three months later, I saw them in Brownsville, Texas. They were even better than the cd! My wife and I met them after the show. We just walked to the back of the venue and started talking to Henry and Jojo while the small crew loaded their van. This was before they travelled in a bus.
Before long, I became active in the fan community and began street teaming. La Onda was born that year and I was blessed to be at the birthplace... Stubbs in Austin. The best thing that has come from discovering this incredible band has been the friendships we've made. We really are like a familia. I'd list all the names of all the great people, but I'm sure I'd forget someone. I'm lookin' forward to meeting more cool LLB fans here and On Da road.
Chat atcha later...

Hello Everyone!!
My name is Heather. I am from the "Land of Enchantment" - New Mexico. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I just joined the fan club and so far I loved reading everyone's postings . . . I just wished I had more time to read them all.
I have only been a member for a few days but, already I wished I had joined earlier. I have been to a couple of the LLB concerts and I loved them-I had great time and met some really cool people. I hope to meet more of the LLB fans out there. . .

Most of you know me as Brenda but I had to get a little creative since that name was already taken. It's so great to see so many of us coming back! I came on board several years ago after seeing the Boys on Willie's Outlaws & Angels TV special. I bought their CD the next day & have been hooked like a crazy woman since then. howdy loopies & lonlies!
i'm new to the crossroads but NOT new to LLB. i was hooked on the first mainstream album, los lonely boys: "los lonely boys", turned on by a friend. when i found out they were from san angelo i flipped because i was born in san angelo eons ago.;) (the one house they mention on the "live in austin" dvd -- 1201 parker -- is right around the corner from where i lived briefly -- 2106 lindell! how freaky is that?!?) then it was on to odessa for a while until my parents divorced. my dad's still there in midland/odessa. aunts and cousins still in san angelo.
i've missed chances in the past to see LLB (soboba casino, san jacinto, would have been GREAT!!) but was able to see them 2 nights in a row a couple of weeks ago: the nissan live! taping at fox studios and the greek theatre show. i met a lot of nice people those 2 nights. one of them, laura, gave me swag and i was like the person someone mentioned on the swag thread -- i was eternally grateful!!! i thought, "dang! what NICE people!!!!!"
err, now i live in the sofaking hot desert in the middle of california. i also read through the lingo stuff and wondered if i was committing a faux pas calling myself "los lonely girl" instead of "los lonely loopie". please advise, as i don't want to be a total dork! :o
i look forward to more concerts and meeting more people. i'm gearing up for palm desert in november even though it's on a school night.
all right, i should shut up now and not bore y'all to death.
peace!

Hey "Los Lonely Girl", you and I almost have the same idea on the names. lol. You are not a total dork. Ha! You are still in school? Me too. Welcome to the fan club! Great to have you!
If you want to, check out the street team site as well. (There is a link to it on the home page of the fan club site) La Onda would be happy to have a new addition there as well.
Have a "lonely" day,

Wow, I see a lot of the old fan club here, and a lot of new members...
My name is Rachel, I started seeing the boys, 3 (or was it now 4 years ago?) years ago at California. There I met Debi, Laurie and a few other wild Loopies (including some crazies!). I drug my then 14 year old son and husband with me, they since come willingly, especially the now 17 year old.
Since then, thanks to Debi and the entire California gang, I have seen them several more times. I am the goober who can snap about 3,000 pictures per show LOL. Debi thinks I have lost a screw, but I have perfected taking photos in a dark setting with no flash :D
We have moved from Alaska to Arizona and added 2  more kids to our bunch. We are seriously considering moving back to Alaska, but then I wouldn't be able to do much concert hoping now would I (not that I do, once last year, none this year). I missed the concert in Arizona this year. We were here in Alaska for a wedding. Fun, fun, fun.... not (my BIL whom I like, but I do not care much for the MIL or SIL).
Seriously though, it is a huge thought right now, as money of course is always an issue. I have had 2 seizures this year ago, one this last weekend, where I turned blue for several minutes. Talk about scary. :(
I don't know what we'll end up doing. If I could get a job taking photos, thats what I'd do, but alas, photo taking is huge in Arizona and I am not that good taking people pictures.
I am currently in Alaska now, Itty bitty got the chicken pox, just waiting for Little Murph to get them next. We'll go visit my dad here in Alaska and figure a way to head home and decide what to do... :)
I probably won't check in much, and when I do, probably won't say much, as I really have nothing much to say  *he he he*.
Oh and I checked the music stores here.... NO Forgiven. How rude!

I must admit...
for one deliciously scary second there...
I thought Amy Stapler had come back.
But - the give-away was that there's spaces in Los Lonely Girl. And no funny sig.
Still and all, welcome to the team!
Don't fret Loopie / Lonelie. That discussion goes back to the very first days, and there has never been a "right" or "wrong" about that. As a matter of fact, you're among family now. You can pretty much call yourself or do anything you like - as long as there's no bad mouthin' the boys or La Familia Onda. (smile and wink)
And welcome back, Rachel!

hi everyone...its cherienjim here from pittsburgh, pa...we joined the fan club last year after seeing a concert in pittsburgh. we actually got to meet henry and jojo because the concert was at a small area, and we walked backed to the bus beside them. :D they were very friendly. they autograped my shirt that jim bought me at the concert. :) ringo disappeared after they were done playing, so we didn't get to meet him. :( since then, we have seen them in virginia last july or august, and also in orlando this past april. we are going to cleveland in august to see them also. :) :D while in florida we met janine. it was fun meeting someone from the club.
we are probably two of the "oldest" fan club members, because we have a son who is 36!!!!! (we also have been married for almost 38 years, so most of you are probably young enough to be our kids,) but we love the boys, and really enjoy going to their concerts. if anyone is going to cleveland give us a "yell". i'd love to meet you. take care, all, and be safe. :) cherienjim
ps: do you think i used enough icons?? ;)
Hey Cheri! Hope you have fun in Cleveland. Also, welcome to all the new people and the old ones returning!

hi llbeagle, llbgal and senoRita!! sorry, forgot to leave my name. it's kimmie rae.
yeah, i'm in school, but as a returning student. (i'm old enough to be most of the students' mother, by golly! LOL) i already have a bachelor's degree in journalism and am looking to complete all the math and sciences i ignored first time around so i can go for a masters in applied kinesiology. that will hopefully enhance my yoga teaching skills and my pay. so i teach yoga at the college and i'm also a student there. kind of an interesting gig!
i also forgot to discuss my degree of onda-itis! to begin with, i've got "heart don't tell a lie" as my ringtone. i've always got an LLB song in my head. i am one of those who compares henry's guitar skills to that of stevie ray vaughan. i just LOVE that i was born in the same town as the boys!
speaking of stevie ray, i was fortunate enough to have seen him play at a blues festival at the red rocks amphitheatre in colorado. it was stevie ray, bb king, albert king, bobby blue bland, to name a few. pretty awesome!!! :D

Hey there everyone....Melissa here! I am from the southwest Chicago suburb of Morris, IL. I am married to Emilio, and we have a 3 y/o son Dominic. Emilio & I went to see LLB in Chicago at the Riviera Theatre in 2004. Great Show!! I was actually pregnant at that show, so we sat in some nosebleed seats, but even from a distance....boy did they shine.
After that, I still was a fan...just the basic fan tho. Buying the CD's, local shows etc. Then along came 2008!!!
Emilio and I went to the Ravinia show in August, where we met a few Loopies...Racer Pam, Peso Neto(Erni), Donna, Peggy & Kelsey. Let's just say all it took for me was a little loopy love!!!
I ended up with them at the Indy show the next day (where I met more loopies)..and a couple of weeks later I found myself at Rockford(where I met llbeagle)...and now I'm waiting on info about the PBS Soundstage taping in Chicago. Yeah...those boys are addicting..I see what all the fuss is about here in the CrossRoads, and being LA ONDA!! Now I'm ready to spread the love.
Can't wait to see the light-----it's a "lonely place" here!!!
Ondafyingly Yours.....Melissa

Hi :)
My name is Milford, but most people know me as Beef.
i was first introduced to LLB thru a friend, she turned me onto a copy of the self-titled Los Lonely Boys and ever since then i've been hooked on their music!
a lil' bout me. I'm a native from new mexico, from the zuni pueblo- born & raised! getting up there in age,44....
i recently joined up after watching the crossroads special on PBS. was touched by their story, but swayed by the music these guys put out.
i've looked around the boards and noticed it seems to be more populated by women. (just an observation, kinda feel im in the minority here....)
none the less,
Nice to Meet you all

Hey Beef! WELCOME! Looks like you are out numbered, but it doesn't matter, we're all here for the boys! It's the music that matters, right? Looks like you have a show or two (not sure) on the tour page ! Make sure you don't miss it. And tell your friends to go, too! We just had 6 shows here in New England, and now it seems like forever until we can see them again...:(
It's going to be a long winter. Glad to see new people posting! (not that the old ones aren't great! LOL!) So, come back and post often! Rosie
Hey Mr Beef! Welcome to our family! The men I can think of around here are, Mark, James, Jesse and Roadking, so yes you're definately outnumbered! Glad to hear you love the boys. Most of us are about your age and a few younger, many older. There was a guy that joined up last week, steele, at least I think hes a dude, if not SORRY! But like rosie said, post and visit often! :D :D
Hey Rosie & Janine
Man, if you can remember the number of guys on one hand... Boy! we are outnumbered big time!!
And Rosie, Yes! for sure i have picked up some tickets for the northern new mexico show. a lil' closer to my neck of the woods. cant wait to get the 'lonely on'
And yes it is the music that brings us all together...

I am getting tix for Yuma. I have tix for 2 Cali concerts. One I probably won't make, one I will for SURE, it is the first place my husband, oldest son and I saw the boys for the first time in Palm Desert back in 2005. Hard to believe it has been that long!! I have met so many amazing, wonderful people through the boards and at concerts.
Nothing is like seeing them live. I have yet to see them on TV, that really shows the energy they put out! I hope you enjoy the concert!!

What is the Banner????
It has it's OWN thread here, under Los Lonely Boys....look for-- Traveling Banner.
This is a piece of cloth that travels around the country, with La Onda (street teamers & forum memebers alike) going to shows. Last year that one went over 28,000 miles from Feb1st to Nov 28th? Something like that. It only missed out on about 6-7 shows, but went to just about Every Other Show the Boys did- INCLUDING going to Hawaii!!
This year the banner has the llbTaxas symbol on it. The Boys have come to recognise it as well, and they sometimes make mention of it during a show(if we're lucky!), or they'll just wave and point in it's direction!
Someone is responsible for "Hosting" the banner, getting it to and from the show, and passing it on to another host afterwards. Peoples meet up at the shows, and get a picture with the banner, and usually sign their names on the banner, along w/ the date and town of the show it & they were at.
At the end of the tour season, the banner will find it's weary way back to me, and I will put together a sort of scrap book of all the banner photos everyone took, and after adding funny facts, & trivia info, it will then get sent to the Boys in Texas. The 2007 banner made its way to them while they were recording FORGIVEN in February. They had it Hung up in the studio to inspire them (or so they say! LOL).....and they really enjoyed looking at all the pictures and fun facts.
Whew!
So- as you can see...everyone here is into the Banner, and being a NEW member, it's something for you to be on the look out for!
Does that clear things up for ya?? hahahaha :p

Hey Beef! Welcome to the forum!! I'm a sort of newbie myself... only a fan club member for about a month. Although Louise and I just starting posting a couple of weeks ago I feel like we are already part of the gang here.
Lots to see and say.
As for me, I can recall if I posted much about me so maybe I'll take a second to do so... for you and the rest of the gang.
I'm a recent transfer to Florida. I moved here 3 years ago from San Diego, CA. Now I'm in Clearwater, FL.
My first LLB experience was in April, although I had two of their CDs before that. I didn't 'really' get into their music until I saw them live. You can't watch a LLB show and not come away amazed. As Beef said, Henry's guitar playing sucks you in. You add to that JoJo's and Ringo's infectious personality and you can't help but want to experience their show over and over again.
I am right up there with you, Beef. I'm 44 too. If you say that's old I'll either have to whomp you silly, or take you out back and have a chat with you. :D The way I see it, you are only as old as you feel. Since I am traveling to three LLB shows in 3 days I think that qualifies me as 'young at heart'. ;)
Thanks for the explanation on the 'banner'!! Louise and I have been trying to figure out what it is ourselves. Nicely done explaining.
I hope yall have a great night. The weather here has turned into the 'perfect' range.... and hopefully holds through next Thursday night for the show in St. Pete at Jannus Landing... since it's outside. *makes note to bring bug stuff*
Peace out!

Hey there Thelma/Cate!
April-- were you at the St Pete blues fest??? A bunch of us from Up North went south for the Warmth, and the music! We were also in Orlando at the house of blues. Were you??
Sorry we all Missed you!!! :o
THe banner WAS there, but we didn't get it OUT for public display much.... we just had it where the Boys would be able to see it- untill people behind us complained :( and we had to take it down. oh well.....
Welcome, welcome, WELCOME!
Maybe on another road trip, we'll catch up with you!

I was at the HOB in April but I missed the St. Pete gig... unfortunately. However, Louise was there... also screaming her head off. :p She called me from the show and let me hear it though... now 'that' is a good buddy.
7 days.... which are going to be the SLOWEST 7 days this year. Although the days leading to Nashville crept. Maybe that's how we stay so young. Hehehe

Hi I'm Tammy and have been a member for several years. I just moved to Hurst from Austin :( because my husband of 23 years has asked for a divorce. I've been here 6 months and I'm getting used to it. I actually grew up in Ft. Worth so I have lots of family and friends. I miss Austin sooo much but I was a prisoner in my marriage (even though he wanted nothing to do with me) making it difficult to enjoy the wonderful things Austin is about. Now I have the freedom to see LLB (the cutests boys in world and the very best band) when I want! I'm going 1/25 by myself so I hope to meet other La Onda members. I'm terribly shy but getting out and seeing the live music I love is worth it. I should have bought 2 tickets but "what the heck". I'm retired from the hotel business and I've traveled all over the world on my own. I'm 46 and have Addison's disease. I'll have a gold cane with vaious LLB stuff on it. I'll be wearing a La Onda T and hope someone will spot me and say hello. I want to become so much more involved with the fan club now that I can. These boys have gotten me through some very tough times with their music since I first saw them at SXSW. They're great medicine for the mind, spirit and soul. I'll hop over to the another board and try to find the latest badge art unless someone has it and can email it to me at lovestruckbaby@gmail.com.
Thanks all (I can't wait until Sunday)

I am a long time fan of the Boys. I fell in love with their music the first time I heard Heaven on the radio back in 2004. My first concert was on 5/4/05 in Austin, Texas and my second was on 5/5/05 in San Angelo. (I live in Rockport, MA and made my husband drive me to Texas so that I could see my first concert in their home state.) I am not going to go into too long of an introduction since most of you know me well. For the new people, I have been very involved in the Fan Forum (and Fan Club) as well as La Onda since the Fall of 2004. I have traveled all over the eastern half of the country to see the Boys. (As far west as Chicago, San Angelo, Austin, Etc. and all up and down the East Coast.) Two thousand and eight was a very trying year for me, but 2009 has started out great. My husband and I just got back from a 14 day cruise of Australia and New Zealand. What a great time we had!!! We were celebrating "Being Alive".
I hope to have more time and energy to spend here this year.
Welcome, again, to everyone and I look forward to chatting with friends old and new.

Howdy. As this new site gets organized, it might be a good idea to introduce ourselves. Some of us have returned with new User IDs, or have been absent for a while. Others might be brand spanking new. So, give us a shout out and tell us a little sum'n about yourself. :)
When did you first hear and/or see LLB?
Where do you live
Just how bad a case of Onda-itis do you have?
Hi Belle---my name is Jill and I am in Houston. My husband and I first heard of LLB's years and years ago. We had our first child in 97 with no family here in Houston so to get the chance to get to one of their concerts were few and far between. The first opportunity that we had to get out of the house to one of their shows was at the Houston Livestock show and rodeo. Acoustics in the stadium were terrible but the boys were incredible. We, now, go to see them ANYWHERE in south texas that we possibly can. We are trying to stay informed of their tour dates to make plans for the next show we can be lucky enough to see.
We have joined the fan club and reverbnation. We would love to help in anyway as far as the street team goes. But really not for sure who to contact or how to get involved. If you can help guide us through this we will gladly do whatever is needed to help out. LLB's have help to keep my husband and I together at times---LOL
Thanks for your help
Jill

Jill - did I meet you last night ? I can answer you question about the Street Team as far as this part of Texas goes. Contact me, JayVee2 or Hrosebud - and we'll let you know more about us. As far as the Street Team goes - we are always active (even though it may not appear so on the RVN site). It's still a work in progress and when "missions" come up - we (the members of La Onda) show up to accept the mission and go from there. Everyday P R and when shows come up in our area or even across the country - we do try to help each other out with swag (homemade or custom made at our own costs). Anyway - that's just the tip ..... like I said - we can talk since you're local. Talk to you soon!

Thanks to everybody for making us feel like members of the family!
Take care,

Hello all! My name is Nora and I am a HUGE fan of the Boys! Have been for about four years now. I live in western NY and had the chance to see the Boys back in 2006 at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo. I was so impressed by members of the Street Team!!
My son was 14 at the time and some of the members from the Street Team we were waiting in line with discovered my son had been playing guitar since age 5 and they insisted that we had to be right in front of Henry for the show! They saved us a spot and one woman even made sure that Henry's guitar tech, Ish, came out and spent some time talking with my son. As my son was already a huge fan of Stevie Ray Vaughn, you can imagine how impressed he was that night with Henry! Ringo and JoJo were, of course, also fantastic!
I just have to say that this past month my son and his band played at the very same venue, and my son was so thrilled to be on the same stage that he saw the Boys play. He didn't plan it but he ended up in the very same spot on the stage that Henry had been at!!
We are finally going to be able to see them again this May. Can't wait!! I was able to get some great photos the last time and am hoping for the same this time around.
Perhaps we'll be able to see some of you all in May at the Seneca Allegheny Casino! Ciao!!

What a great story and a great experience for your son! I'm sure Henry would be proud if he knew.

Hello Everyone - I joined The Club a few weeks ago. My first fan club ever. I fell for these guys' music and then for them. They did a tv show with Ronnie Milsap a few years ago that made me cry. As the mother of an adult son - I know Mom's proud. My husband and I have gone to Myrtle Beach, Tucson, NY, Florida to see them (helps that he works for an airline and we can fly standby) and were fortunate enough to see them in a really small club here in Charlotte, NC and they were unbelievable! They now have a few more fans from the friends we dragged to that show - who, of course, then went out and bought all the cd's. It's a little embarrassing to have become a groupie in my 50's but good music is good music!!! I don't know what it is but getting to see these guys play live, the way they enjoy each other and performing for the crowd, just makes life better for a few days. They say they want to make a difference to people - well, they've made a difference to us. - Nancy

Nancy - hi! Welcome to Crossroads (and to the subset of 50-somethings who've fallen in love with this music!).
You and your hubby have got some great opportunities w/his job. (I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous. I'm not...) :p
Anyway, jump on in and make yourself at home. As you've probably already discovered, we're a bit 'loopie' about our Boys.

I'm back finally!!!! Got it together enough to rejoin. I'm part of Onda by the Bay. My name is Laura. I've been with the boys for at least 4 years. My first time seeing them was at The Fillmore in San Francisco the night before they filmed the DVD. I had tickets to see them at the County Fair in Santa Rosa they canceled due to their niece medical condition. :(
Went to Onda on the River 3 and am going to ODR 5. :D
Glad to be back and look forward to posting and reading them. :p

Hi Laura! So glad to see you here! Laura/llbwoman has been part of La Onda since 2004. We met at one of the Fillmore shows in October of 2004. She has always been there to contribute to making swag for shows, and supporting the boys. So glad you are coming to ODRV--should be a blast! And so far it looks like there will be 8 of us from OBTB--you and Emil, Tasina and Ronnie, Debbie and Mano, and Rob and I. Don't know yet if Ellenn/llbeagle is coming also. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Hey all!! I have been here before as (itshollywood) but it was a lon time ago, I first joined right after the Boys did their Fillmore show in San Francisco! I was lucky enough to share the center stage with Tasina, she had this most incredible beautiful purse she had made from beads with the Boys pic and the name. It was one of the very best shows i have ever seen!!. and I have seen LLB several times since then, but the big venues just dont compare, after a small awesome place like the Fillmore. I joined back up, cause they are coming my way... I moved to AZ, (boy do I miss my city by the bay) theres a show in Tucson, dont know too much about it, but general adm is standing room only... which should mean first come first in... I hope?? Does anyone have any info on this?? Its called the Rialdo, might have mis-spelled it?? And then one week later... KABOOM, and you better believe I'll be there! Hope to get to know you all, and I might already??? Newbie sorta Deb :D

:) Hi All, cherienjim here. We have been LLB fans since 2007. They performed in Pittsburgh at an outdoor festival. Although, this is not an area for this kind of music, we fell in love with them at first sight. We love their personalities, as well as their music. :D After they played in Pittsburgh, we walked along a wire fence to get their autographs. Well, I scraped the top of my foot. We got to talk to Henry and JoJo, and even got their signatures. Little did I know but, my LLB bond started that day. The little scrape turned into a major infection, and landed me in the hospital for 11 days :( with complications. I almost lost my foot. I listened to the "Sacred" cd for hours at a time while in the hospital, and I have a special bond for "HOME". :) Even my one doctor commented on how I could listen to my ipod when I was so ill. But, thank the "GREAT LORD" in Heaven, my foot healed, and I can thank God on the power of prayers. :) So, welcome to all the new members, and hi to all the dedicated "old" ones. :)
To the newbies, these members are great people with great hearts... cherienjim :) (married 37 3/4 yrs.!!!)
ps: one of my favorite things is to meet members of the fan club when we're at a show. So, if our paths ever cross, please let's stop and say hello. :)

hola amigos! i first saw a tv concert of the boys i think in 2004. it must have been the fillmore west show. anyway, immediately i knew these guys have something special.... they were tight - and the sound (OMG). so being a fan of blues/rock - there just aren't enough musicians today that have music which connects to love, the heart and with the rocking rhythm. once i heard LLB, they brought it all together.
i saw them for the first time in the NorVa - Norfolk,VA promoting Sacred. Then met them at Ram's Head in Baltimore. I traveled to West Palm to catch them with Santana, where i met one of the original outlaws - Senor Garza. i saw them at the Wolf Trap, Vienna VA last summer promoting Forgiven and I saw them recently in Annapolis, MD.
and they are truly in a world of their own ('cause my heart can't tell a lie). i'm planning on catching them in TX sometime this fall, and again here back in the north east later this year.
To the Boys: Keep rockin' and creating that texican sound!
To the Fans: Rock on, LLB are the real deal
