Yeah Rita, THANK YOU for the beautiful earrings and the most recent bracelet that I've been wearing EVERYWHERE! you make fantastic swag. . although I think there are MANY MANY people who've made great swag. .

I got a lot of pics of swag, but figure people will post the ones they've made here. My fav is lilMama's swag BAGS :), Laurie boops Crystals & mardi gras bead necklaces, Musikfans frisbees, JesseV's light up shot glasses, MTS's playing cards, Rachel's FANS, VS matchbooks, roadkings windowstats, senoRITA's patches :) . .I guess I could go on and on :) I think it's my favorite topic :)

I've made all kinds of things, but this one I think is unique, La ONDA memo pads:

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s265/EEVLWYS/memopads.jpg

our Hawaii buttons:

oh those Hawaii buttons are just TOO cute!!!
And I love my memo pad! Thakns! ;)

I've already had a FEW ideas popping in&out of my head this year for SWAG--
But I'll always have the little card with it--- as that tells people where to go to look for LLB on the WEB!! LOL

I thik I enjoyed the carry-all-bags i did ---- as inthey were the best/easiest to do, carry, pack, etc! And they'll also be useful at a later time! (big on the bring-your-own-bags to the grocery store here! hahaha) But they cost me $1 before i even paint them! So, I have to watch the cost of those!

I also made draw string backpacks one year, and painted onthem (of course! hehehe), but didn't thik they went over all that well. <shrugs> It was early on, I was shy................Maybe I'll try it again.

Okay--- NEW ideas

I have Ribbon I sewed at RosieJean's, that has "LosLonelyBoys" onit. White ribbon w/ red lettering. I was thinking of making it into keyring straps.... hook on one end, ring on the other---???? ( I REALLY wnat a machine like Rosie has! It's SO cool! ) I might be able to get 20 out of the roll? if I TRY really hard...hehehe

I found Tissue paks in LLB colors (red/black/grey- stripes & dots! then red/black hounds tooth!). Slapping a sticker on there seems almost TOO easy! LOL But you KNOW how hot it can get at a show--tissues could wipe the sweat easily. Now to come up with WORDS for the sticker!! hehehe (anyone have a golden tongue out there , want to Help??)

And that's it.
I know, for ME it's not saying much! hahaha :p
But winter has only just begun---there's a GOOD 3 months ahead of me, I'll think of more, just give me time!!!!!

Hey Mommy..how 'bout "LLB Swag Rags" for those tissues? If you can fit it on the sticker. :o

and TASINA....YOU'RE the one who made those memo pads??? Someone gave me one and i have it at work. I use it very sparingly and I've always wondered who made them. they are so cool. :D

OOOOHHHHHH I like that !!!!
Swag Rags!! Neat!!
SURE it can fit on the sticker--why not?? You know the pocket sized tissues, right? Those rectangle ones (kleenex), that is the size. I can custom any size sticker to fit on there, so that is no problem at all!!! :D
Thanks Cree!

Cree,
Thanks for the comment about the memo pads. .
I you want to order some, I'd be glad to send you some. . I ordered a bunch and gave alot out at ODR2, and Christmas of 2006 but had been trying to sell some (I had to order ALOT and cost quite a bit) but no one was ordering. . . I still have some though.

and just to contribute to this thread, I
was looking for the grammy art of the boys and found my early pics of the first magnets and pins are started making in early 2004. . wow, it was four years ago :) already.

I'm also working on t-shirt designs for the guys...hahahaha, as I realised that these are pretty Girlie!
Plus I have plastic ornament w/ hard candy inside them. They're still drying now(I painted on them "LLB") so no pictures....and then I have red hearts w/ "I (heart) LLB " on them as well. They have candy & charmies in them too.

Still need to work on the stickers for the tissues....funny, the EASIEST thing to do I haven't done yet! LOL
Still kind of waiting to see if we get word on the name of the new album, before I go printing out the stickers & cards that go w/ everything else! LOL

So that's what I've beenup to...... :D

Thanks for that pic, Laurie. I met this young man when LLB did a concert here in Park City, Utah in 2005. I remember him getting off their bus and skateboarding down to where some of us fans were waiting. He talked with us for a few minutes. He was so nice and sounded alot like Jojo.

GREAT SWAG LADIES!!

okay- I'm thinking ahead here to FLORIDA in April----
It's C-O-L-D up here in vermont right now, so I'm thinkin' Florida is going to be SO much WARMER come April (hope-hope), that maybe tHIS would be a good idea to have with the Swag----
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o201/LLBmmmbopnmommy/SWAG-srinkmix.jpg
Individual packets of drink mix for your bottled water----
This just happens to be Hawiian Punch(fruit juicy red)- but I also have tea & lemonade flavors
When they're[probably] gonna be charging me $3 ++ for a single bottle of water, I just might want it to have a little FLAVOR to it, you know?? hahahaha---so I figured maybe others would want a little flavor to their water as well...and so here is my latest idea!
Add an address label sized sticer to the back...loaded w/ all the LLB info, and it's a handy-dandy, easy to tote around SWAG item to give to people...Right???
Cost? Well, depends on if you want to use the Name BRand, or the store brand--i.e. Crystal Light $2.50 for a box of 10 packets. Walmart brand $1.88
(Hawiian punch is only $1.00- but it's 8 not 10 packets)== 0.19- 0.25cents each--oh wait, add what, a penny for the label?? 0.20-0.26cents each. That's not so bad, now is it?????

ANYONE can take this idea and Run w/ it!! LOL

P.S. Laurieboop- I used your badge picture here--but I gave you credit! You just can't SEE it in this picture cuz it's kind of small.... :o

Thanks for sharing

Rita, this is a great idea! Thanks for the credit but a special thanks for using my picture. These flavored waters thingys will come in handy for the summer shows!

I really love the candy bar swag. I made some for my sister, when my niece was born and we passed them out instead of cigars...these are better for your health! LOL My labels didn't have a picture but on the top it read "HER SHE" and the back under the nutritional facts, I listed all the baby's info and under ingredients, I put, "sugar and spice and all that is nice, that's what little girls are made of". They were really cute!

I thought of making some of these for swag in the past, but these would never make it. Summer time here in So Cal is very hot, so these would melt.

Just a suggestion...and don't get me wrong, I love your labels with the pictures, but I thought it would be cute if on the back side of the candy bar, you can list the nutrional value and include the boys' name and their birthday on different lines. Also list ingredients: 100% TEXICAN ROCK N ROLL ! I'm sure you can get creative and add other things to this. Mini candy could be used as well... :)

Amor

Wow, I like that idea. That is pretty cool. Just one thing, I have to be careful with the mini chocolate bars because in Florida, it's HOT. You could melt chocolate here in December. But it is definitely something to consider. You guys are so creative, I love it. I was thinking maybe there might be some inexpensive items at the Dollar Store - has anyone checked that out yet?

Yes, I actually did think of this AFTER I posted the pictures of the first 2 I did!! LOL
But thanks for mentioning it--so that OTHERS will think of it too!!!

I don't tend to think much of chocolate melting when it's 20 degrees outside!! LOL And since I've NEVER been in florida in April, I'm taking chances it isn't going to be TOO hot.......in the 70's is still good for transporting candy--- I think! LOL
Mini bars would go farther, true, but I'm too lazy to wrap all of them!! hahaha :D

I just mailed out overnight express, a box of swag for the Newtown, NOrth Dakota show this coming saturday, at the Four Bears Casino. My family is going to that one, and making banners. I hope they take pictures! I also gave the boys, Glen and Ian a heads up that they will be there.

so hundreds of buttons, of course bookmarks, and glowsticks. .(the same kind that we passed out at Grant's Pass)

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s265/EEVLWYS/LLB%20shows/swag013.jpg

I gave some extra ones to Ringo when he said to me "I always Love the glowsticks". . we brought them out during HEAVEN. . . (these are great, they are only .35 each at http://www.windycitynovelties.com/glow-sticks.asp )

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s265/EEVLWYS/LLB%20shows/swag018.jpg

RosieJean is bringing some(I believe) to Florida....(I'm ratting her out- but she was printing the stickys for them instead of going to work this AM!! LOL) I'll have to remember to give Ringo a few EXTRA cuz he LIKES them!!! :D

Me- well, I'm TRYING to pack around the swag I'm taking!! Geesh, it's more than I thought!! WAY more! 2 shows isn't enough to hand it ALL out in(maybe)!!!! LOL

And Ev--- I am SO hopeing it is WARM next week!! Just when we get a Taste of warmth here- it hits w/ More COLD! brrrrrrr....but the snow is gone(for now), so I'm glad about that!!!! CHANT W/ ME PEOPLES FLOR-RID-DA FLOR-RID-DA FLOR-RID-DA FLOR-RID-DA.... ;)

Nor was there room for HALF the stuff I've got here, so I'm looking forward to September to give out EVERYTHING I've got packed up in boxes in my bedroom(some of which i forgot I even had! LOL)
my SWAGmaking got WAY out of control last winter---LOL--- I just couldn't help myself---the Boys INSPIRE ME! LOL hahahahahahahahahaha.........

Don't let Rita fool you. She can pack 1000 things in her suitcase at one time! When we went to Florida, she just kept pulling out stuff, then more stuff, then more stuff! I said when's it going to end??? She even had the LLB stage & dolls in there! It was amazing! I think I'll make more buttons, and I like to give out snapshots of the boys with their upcoming tour dates printed on the back. I really want to make something else, but I'm out of ideas... caution about the photo earring. . Poor Rita, had to send me several sets at one point. . from dancing and jumping around at a show, I would lose one right off the hook. . the hook wire wasn't strong enough to hold a swaying picture earring. . . I stopped wearing them to concerts, so I can hold onto them. .lol

also wanted to showcase Laurie boops' forgiven earrings. .

the bookmarks have become the most popular swag because it's great quality and inexpensive. just put a sticker on the back with the website. .

go to:

http://www.alastore.ala.org/SiteSolution.taf?_sn=catalog&_pn=sub_category&_op=127

or

http://www.alastore.ala.org/

the bookmarks are $ 8.00 for 100 bookmarks (so we order 3 or 4 hundred and they LAST a few shows).

the poster is very cool. . .
hope this helps

New year, and new ideas here.....what can i say. Vermont is DARN COLD, and it get boring waiting to pick kids up from school in the afternoon! LOL

I have some, uh, i guess they're lip stick cases ( long rectangle box like things w/ a snap cover...but they are lip gloss length, longer than a lipstick) in black & grey, and have painted on them "Los Lonely Boys" in red or white

Black fabric bags I painted "www.LosLonelyBoys.com" on. They are not quite shopping bag size, more gift bag size.

And then the ever UNorriginal key chain/zipper pull, beaded (in blues for 'Forgiven') thingy.
These i did as something to DO while I wasn't feeling so great last week...hadn't planned on making them, but did it anyhow. hahahahaha

Then there were the photo charms (lighter this time, thank you very much!!!LOL They shouldn't break when you jump around Tasina!!!!hahaha) you can put on whatever you want--chain, earring, etc. they have a lobster claw closure thingy for that...

Trying to think SMALL this year..hahaha....maybe something will strike me...nothing much has yet. "I've got the blues..." hehehe
Which is why I need to snag me some awesome photos for my SWAG card I add to the SWAG I give (it has tons of the Boys info on it in case the person doesn't already know where to go to join us in this craziness!! )

There, that was just MY 2009 update...lol

Michaels Craft Stores have calendar stuff marked down--or the one near me does!!!!
I got Mouse PAds you can put a 4x6 photo in...and it has the months all around the outer edge. I really like these, so i got a bunchof them....for 25cents each!!! Sticker on the back w/ band info..and it's DONE! How awesome is that?? hahahahaha

I've been thinkingof my "special friend" gifts lately...and hav something I think is pretty niffty in the works!!! LOL So here is hopeing you're at a show i go to, huh???? hahaha ( so far the only one in the works is May 14th! H's B-Day! AWESOME!)

I sent EV a big SWAG bag of plastic hearts for the Valentines Show in Del Ray. I painted "LLB" " I (heart) LLB", "loslonely boys" on the outside of the hearts....and inside there was taffy or a trinket, as well as a 'love song' lyric by LLB. That was FUN writing all those down!!!! But it fit the day, you know????

hey what a deal on the photo-mousepads! i thought i "stole" them at kinko's for $1.19 clearance (and no calendar even).

They are about 5inches long- just the shape- 7 1/2 inches w/ the ketring thingy on it.

I gave out SWAG - 2 birds w/ one stone you might say!
Just returned from the My Little Pony Convention w/ my oldest(who does the ponys & gave the Boys each one in May) where I handed out little CHARMS I made from card stock & laminated them, then punched a hole in them & added one of those clippy/lanyard hooks to make it a 'charm'.
Now true, they WERE Ponys...but they had www.loslonelyboys.com on them, and they were attached to a little card that had a pic of the Boys on it that also had the web address on it!
So, not only did I promote Ponys for the convention, I also promoted LLB!:o

They were a hit with everyone who got one!

Another thing I did was put a few little pony stickers in a tiny baggie, then added the Boys tour scheduale on one side of a business card while the web addy was on the other w/ a promo pic!
I was in VEgas & I wanted people tp know the Boys were going to be at the Hard Rock!

OR are you having a bunch printed and can I contribute to get some?? I know the places I've ordered from need an order of 1000 or so to get them at a decent price. THey are most EXCELLENT for promoting. .although having "PLaying In Traffic" and "Lonely Tone" records would be good to have on them as well.

SWAG ideas...I really don't have any....and what a BUMMER that is!!!

But---- I was looking around for ideas for a pinata, and I spotted something that MIGHT work for a show......
What do you think???
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o201/LLBmmmbopnmommy/2010%20LosLonelyBoys/partylikeaRockStar.jpg

These are guitars on a string...and they say "Party like a rock star"...on them....
I guess on the back I could put an LLB sticker, or something.......

But I'm just not sure about them......not all of them are electric guitars....in fact, out of 2 pkgs I got, only ONE of the 6 was one! 3 were acustic, and 2 were Flying V's.....and then the 1 strat-like.................oopps..just noticed this pkg has a Gibson electric in it..the other didn't.
I'll think about it some more....
These are going in a pinata....but I saved the packaging so if I want to , I can try to order them later on.

I hate the winter blues ... :(

Being a newbie, I don't know the first thing about swag, but I would sure be willing to go look at our local party store to see if they have any guitars like the ones in your picture...if that would be any help...
And cheer up...spring is on its way..I noticed it was still a little bit light outside at 10 mins to 6 tonite. Each day, light a little longer...:)

Janet-
SWAG ideas are just that IDEAS! LOL
It can be anything you think of to promote LLB. Anything at all!!!
From a postcard w/ tour dates on the back ( like the ones pictured before)..to stickers & magnets, mouse pads, beaded items & more!
Your local stores have TONS of printing materials you can use....
My favorite happens to be sticker paper. You can do SO MUCH with it! hahahahahhaa

The key to a good SWAG item??? Portable! hahaha

One year, someone had those glass jar candles?? Not the Huge ones, but the smaller ones.....had wonderful stickers on it, giving details to go to the web site & alot of tour dates, etc.--- But they were HEAVY!! hahahaha! She couldn't carry more than 4 w/ her at one time....and then when WE got them, they were just so heavy in our bags too!!! So yes, it was a great Idea (I still have mine! It's my "go-to" candle when the lights go out! LOL)...but not practical!

Some people have button maker machines....which are AWESOME! LOL. A gallon bag of buttons goes a LONG way...lol...and getting to use any photo you have of the Boys? Priceless! LOL But those are kind of pricey...$200-$400 PLUS supplies!( but it sure is Fun to play w/ them!)

Not everyone is "Crafty".....and that's okay! That is what the PRINTER is for! LOL Going to your local copy place---printing press-- is a good option, if you have the money to do that (or the place that CAN do that! LOL...I don't!)

Some people will bead items- keychains, clips, & other jewelry...in the Lonely colors of Black/Red/white/silver..... they tend to be a bit Girly, so the guys don't have anything to walk away with...but thems the breaks sometimes! hahahaha......

It's always fun to have a Glo-Stick at a show....and just adding an Address Lable to it can make it SWAG! On the lable you print on what ever LLB info you want, and wha-la...you have a fun SWAG to give out! :)...& who doesn't like GLOW STICKS??? hmm?? Come on, be honest!!!....you can also arrange that everyone breaks their light at the same time (like when Heaven is played) & wave them around...the Boys Dig this ALOT! Makes them laugh!

PErsonally, I think a sWAG item is something you think another person would like to get.....something useful, that'lll stay in view, to remind you/them of LLB & make them want to go back for more! hahahaha

For me, after 5 years of thinking of things.....NEW ideas aren't popping up yet....but they will...I have faith
Just gotta get my GROOVE going again.....hahahaha (need more video...need ALOT more video! )

And it always bumms me when I find a craft item I like to use, and suddenly it's not carried by my store anymore! :( It's not fair!
Like my photo earrings.....Tasina loves these!.......I can no longer get the square I put photos into...and I'm really upset over this!...So now I have to find something Else to do......I just hate change! hahahahaha

So good luck with YOUR Swag adventure.
Oh, & you don't need to look for those guitars for ME-- I get them at the Dollar Tree Store...but if you want to get them for yourself & give some as Swag-- Go Right Ahead!!...And have FUN while passing them out!
I like to put ideas out there so others can use them......so if you can, please DO!

Rita, as usual has some great swag ideas. My favorites are magnets. They can be a bit pricey and heavy but I have found a way of making them affordable. (The idea behind swag is to be able to hand out as much as possible and tell people about the Boys and how to join us here.) I ordered a ream of high grade paper from Staples. I have a color printer so I can print 12 "magnet pictures" per page. I always add the web site address to the picture. I then cut the card-sized pictures and attach them to magnets that are sticky on one side. I get the magnets in bulk. People love them and have a tendency to keep them. You should see my refrigerator! Actually, I will take a couple of pictures and post them.

Janet - We could move this thread to the La Onda forum and put it up as a sticky for new ST members. Thanks for bringing that up.

As far as SWAG goes ... our main purpose at a ST is to promote LLB and to increase their fanbase. Festivals are a great place to pass out swag to potential new fans. You lure them to the LLB showcase. .... GIFT Swag is what many of the ST members do for "their" shows.

Janet - where do you live. I sent you a PM in answer to your question about becoming a member of La Onda. In areas of the country where we have groups already set up - it's best you team up with them. I can give you information on that.

Thanks Rita for stepping up and giving examples on how to produce, create and distribute LLB swag.

Also, please keep in mind - that Swag is a reflection of LLB.

Very good Bela!!! I love the magnets too! AND I also have a TON of the refrigerator!! LOL A few from YEARS ago have seemed to come apart...so they look really funky now--hahahha-- but I still have them! :)

I like your idea of the sticky magnet/reg. paper better than me trying to use sticky paper on a regular magnet....hahahaha.... might have to give it a try....mine always get a wrinkle! hahahahaha

And yes...always put info on where you can find the Boys on the swag idea! LOL thats a def MUST have!!
