It looks like Jojo is trying to do the Haka, which is a Maori (Polynesians from New Zealand) war dance. I was in New Zealand this past January and saw a couple of performances. Jojo, you need to look meaner!

Hey everyone! Here's the official announcement about this.
In early September, Los Lonely Boys will embark on their first trip to the Middle East to perform for the United States Armed Forces stationed in Kuwait and Iraq. The band is honored to be able to entertain the men and women who have dedicated their service to our country and given up so many privileges of American culture including the live concert experience.
The schedule will be unpublished due to security reasons. We will be sharing photos/video from the trip upon their return!

LOS LONELY BOYS ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW RELEASE
1969
A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT YEAR OF MUSIC
DUE OUT OCTOBER 13
FIRST EVER ACOUSTIC TOUR SET FOR OCTOBER
WITH ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO & HACIENDA ON THE BILL
August 19, 2009 (Austin, TX) – Los Lonely Boys (Henry, Ringo, and Jojo Garza) announce the upcoming release of 1969 (Lonely Tone/Playing in Traffic), an EP of covers that pays tribute to one of America’s most musically hailed years.
Five years after crossing into the mainstream with the GRAMMY winning single “Heaven,” the brothers take this opportunity to invoke the sound of a generation that walked the moon and transcended Woodstock. They lend praise to songs that provided a soundtrack for so many and inspired their own multi-platinum success. With their signature blend of Latin rhythms, searing guitar leads and impeccable harmonies, the band takes the opportunity to trace their musical lineage through the following tracks Carlos Santana’s “Evil Ways,” The Beatles’ “She Came In Through the Bathroom Window,” Tony Joe White’s “Polk Salad Annie,” and The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues.”
Legendary engineer Andy Johns provides his signature, timeless sound to 1969. In addition to recording Blind Faith’s “Well All Right” – also a featured track on the EP – Johns is well known for his work on Led Zeppelin II, III, IV and The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St.
Close friend Carlos Santana once told the brothers "When you're up on that stage or when you record, you want to be the tool that shines light through to everybody."
Los Lonely Boys always took his message to heart and more so now than ever with their spirited renditions of these classic tracks that they hope will appeal to their current audiences as well as attract new ones that appreciate this generation of music.
"Peace, love and gracias to Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Tony Joe White, The Doors - some of the many musicians and songwriters that made 1969 a pathway for us to follow,” offers Henry Garza on the upcoming project.
1969 also marks the first one via their new label home, the Austin-based Playing in Traffic Records and their own imprint Lonely Tone Records.
The brothers have been on the road for nearly six straight years with few weeks off in between. This fall they’re switching the format up a bit and setting out on their first-ever, acoustic tour fitly named “The Acoustic Brotherhood Tour” with supporters Alejandro Escovedo and Hacienda.
“This tour allows us to play the way we play in our backyards and really show the tradition of our Texican roots,” Ringo says about the Brotherhood tour.
The brothers met fellow Texan Alejandro Escovedo during a tribute project for him called Por Vida: A Tribute to the Songs of Alejandro Escovedo in 2004 and have been musical comrades every since. San Antonio’s Hacienda was an attractive addition after hearing about their work with Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and the excitement they were creating in throughout their home state.
On the tour, Los Lonely Boys will play songs off of 1969, and their previous studio releases Forgiven (2008), Sacred (2006) and Los Lonely Boys (2004).

Sounds like the boys have an independent label. Well, good for them!
"What band doesn't think about or dream about having their own label, y'know? Now we're really gonna be able to do it the way we want. This is our deal, and people will be able to hear that sound and that vibe and...the independence on what we do."
Garza says the group would like Lonely Tone -- which is part of Austin-based Playing in Traffic Records -- to house other acts, but "right now we're focusing all the energy that we can on us."

Just confirmed... if you pre-order your copy of 1969 from through our friends at doublestereo, it will be shipped early and you will receive it ON OCT 13TH!!

There *MAY* be a few instances where it will come the next day, this depends a bit on where you're located and the shipping/postal carrier. But for the most part everyone will get it on that date.

I could be wrong here, but the point of ordering through the LLB store is that the Boys will get a larger percentage of sales. If you buy through Amazon or B&N, the stores will take a HUGE cut, leaving very little for anyone else. (I sell books on Amazon, so I know from hard experience. If I sell a book on Amazon for $18, I get maybe $2. Not kidding!)
This is one more way to support the band.
Edited to add - the benefit to you is having the CD delivered right to your door. No trying to find parking, or driving to the store.

Mark can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always understood that pre-orders also effect, more importantly, where the EP will make its debut in the Top 100

Pre-ordering definitly helps with the debut numbers/charts, and also gives the opportunity for fans who want to order the CD instead of visiting a store to receive it on the day it's released!

Checkout what the NY Daily News wrote today about LLB:
Carlos Santana once told his pals Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza of Los Lonely Boys to "be a tool that shines light through to everybody." The Texican brothers tried to be just that for the troops when they rocked Iraq and Kuwait over the past two weeks. "They have a cousin in the Marines who was wounded there," says a friend of the multi-platinum band, "and they jumped at the chance." The Boys will be here at the Highline Ballroom Oct. 11 playing hits and their new album, "1969."

pre-order is nice an convenient (having it delivered) but shipping is $2.75 for a $6.95 CD. That's a bit high. I can drive to the store and save about $2.

Outside the Cascade Theatre..the evening was young
We took the nephew to the Los Lonely Boys performance at the Cascade Theatre in honor of his 22nd birthday. The Cascade Theatre is an Art Deco style theatre that opened in 1935 in the downtown area and has been beautifully restored. It was done with community effort and donations. The acoustics are great and you can see well from every seat.

Oh, so lonely waiting for the Los Lonely Boys to come on stage...they took their time...no shi* but it was worth it.
The Los Lonely Boys are a band of Hispanic brothers. The Garza brothers, to be exact. Henry on guitar, Jojo on bass and Ringo on drums. Their father was a musician too but wasn't able to pursue music as a career as he had babies instead. He often tours with the boys and gets choked up when he talks about how proud he is that his babies grew up to find success in doing what he was unable. If they had a fourth brother, it would be a lot easier on them to make all that music. But the way they sound, they really don't need one.

Still waiting...this family left four songs into LLB...I think man on right was with a disability.
The first time I heard the band was in 2003. The husband turned me on to them. They were the official band of the PGA, Professional Golf Association, tour that year and their music was featured during tour telecasts. That year they released their first Grammy winning, debut album that included the hit single, Heaven. Their style sounds like what you would get if you put a Mariachi band, Jimi Hendrix and Chuck Berry in a blender and hit frappe.

Los Lonely Boy's Bus
This is the second time they have played in Redding in two years. Tonight they gave us the honor of being among the first people in the world to hear songs from their new album that will be released next month. The album, 1969, covers songs from that year. The music was wild, driving and the brothers had a great time. I've rarely seen musicians have so much fun playing...last night it was more than a job...that was clear. They tossed picks they had used into the audience. Ringo passed out drum sticks. And one lucky sucker in the front row took home a guitar Jojo gave him. Sheesh! A flippin' guitar!
Los Lonely Boys recently returned from Iraq where they entertained our troops. The boys (men) were truly humbled by what they saw of every day life...on both sides...during war time. They have videos on You-Tube chronicling their trip and invite you to view them. Blessed are we to live the life we do--is their motto upon return. The way the Garza brothers conduct themselves always touches me. It is clear that they truly honor the higher power that graces their music and gives them their fans and their zest for life. It was a great way to end hump day! It was Heaven!
