i was @ their show up here in CANADA. they were awesome,......these brothers are sooooooo talented. their vocals, their rythym, the original music.....mmmmmm. i work @ the casino, and would really appreciate it if they would come back soon.
i also wanted to add that when my oldest son was in a car accident, and lay in a coma for 11 days, with a brain injury AND a broken neck 'how far is heaven' was one of the songs that i would play in his room to stimulate his brain. that song also gave me comfort. jus wanted to let them know how impressed i am.
'i am the man to beat' is my new favorite song!!!'

Welcome!!!! How awesome that you got to see the boys in Canada. We wondered if anyone would come on-line and share their experiences, give us set lists or share pictures. They've been there since Sunday so this is great news.
"Heaven's" lyrics and music has definately touched alot of the boys fans and many of us can relate to your inspiring story. Do not fear.... the boys read their forums and they will learn of your son's experience and how you stepped in with a song that speaks to our heart.
You picked a favorite of all us loopies and lonelies - and one that we absolutely must hear at any live show. LET's GET LONELY!!!

Welcome to the Fan Forum, Pmrgrl! Congrats on your first show and I can tell already this won't be your only one too :D Sorry to hear about your son, but if there's any consolation, it's knowing that LLB's music really touches your heart and soul. Heaven has brought comfort to all of us in one form or another. You're on the right track! Wishing you both all the best. ;)

Concert Review: Los Lonely Boys in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, April 3, 2008
Written by JC Mosquito
Published April 12, 2008
Rock and roll in the modern age is, in some ways, a forgotten art. Instead of focusing on making music, rock musicians have become, by necessity, businessmen, promoters, entertainers, and fortune tellers, desperately trying to predict "the next big thing" in hopes of riding the front of the wave of cultural significance and/or possible economic prosperity. Whatever happened to setting up your gear and rockin' out?
Apparently an event like that still actually happens, but plays out in obscurity in odd places. This was certainly the case earlier this month at the Dakota Dunes Casino, just 15 minutes south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where Los Lonely Boys, that blues rockin' trio of brothers from Texas, brought their show. Don't ask me why they were playing to a "crowd" of less than 300 people at $35 a pop - I'm sure they headline for major dollars in most markets worldwide. They played well - just bass, drums and guitar on a white lit stage - from blues to rock and roll and most places in between. I don't really know their catalogue, but the music was definitely both familiar and exciting, sort of ZZ Top (the original Texas trio, if you will) meets Santana (the original Hispanic rock guitar virtuoso). Great job, guys!
There was very little for anyone to dislike about the band or its performance, and I would certainly recommend their show or music to anyone that likes good, solid playing along the lines of ZZ Top or Stevie Ray Vaughn. But the question that's been nagging me for over a week now is this: where was the audience? Even the local blues scene regulars weren't there. Perhaps the simple explanation is that maybe the show was poorly promoted. Perhaps, the fact of the matter is, sadly, that we've reached the point that no one much cares about a little ol' rock 'n' roll band from Texas (or anywhere else), no matter who's laying claim to the name.
JC Mosquito spends most of his day keeping the wolves from the door. When he's not occupied with this pasttime, he's interested in all things rock and roll, which may or may not have died back in the late '50's, the late '70's, or the early '90's depending on who you believe.
