La Onda explained
By VelvetSky0222
La Onda is Los Lonely Boys’ Street Team, a group of die-hard fans who volunteer their time, enthusiasm and creativity for the band. They help to promote upcoming shows or recordings, and educate and inform the general public. Their primary goal is to increase the fan base and help spread the word. La Onda takes their love of the band one step further than the casual fan by hitting the streets in their respective cities to get this job done. This is accomplished by:
• Producing handmade swag i.e. key chains, magnets, flyers, etc. and giving it out at concerts and band events
• bringing friends to the shows
• convincing friends to buy band merchandise
• phoning local radio stations to request LLB songs be played
• putting up posters to advertise concerts
• posting to LLB Fan Forums (public and fan club), online bulletin boards, websites dedicated to bands and music, and TV talk show websites
• being available to help with events when called upon by ArtAttack Productions/Garza camp.
La Onda consists of motivated, hardworking, devoted members who forge a strong force for promoting Los Lonely Boys. Many members travel across the country and continent to offer support to their favorite band of brothers as Los Lonely Boys serve their music burrito to the world.
The Street Team’s most important function is to represent Henry, Jojo and RIngo Garza in the public eye. Family values, Spirituality, Respect, the love of music, and the message of Texican Style Rock-and-Roll are held in the highest regard and are what bond the team together. It is no wonder that La Onda has been acknowledged on the “Sacred” CD as the “Mighty Loyal Ones”.
Here’s what Henry and members of the Street Team have to say about “Onda”…and basically where La Onda took its name:
“That song is both a tribute to Carlos (Santana) and us letting everyone know who we are. “Onda” means a wave that can’t be stopped. It’s like your mother’s love, but it’s also like pure destruction. It’s a very powerful word — it’s who you are. And here we come, bro.” — Henry Garza

“You know what having ONDA really means? It means ‘coming from the heart’. Anyone can be La Onda, but ‘YOU GOTTA HAVE ONDA’.” — Oh Danny Boy (ODB)

“We are not only LA ONDA. It is now a LA ‘TIDAL’ ONDA, A ‘gigantic’ wave of beautiful, hard working, fun loving, honest and dedicated people spreading LLB's music and what LLB is all about; a familia with "TIDAL" hearts and souls, with a mission to show the rest of the world all about OUR wonderful world of LLB and LLB music. Being part of LA ONDA is now a way of life for all of us. And just like a beautiful wave coming toward the shore, we must continue to touch as many shores as we can, because we believe in our mission and we believe that once they are swept by LA ‘TIDAL’ WAVE, they will ride LA ONDA on to OTHER shores with ‘The Mission’.” — Ramos
La Onda Motto: Ask not what Los Lonely Boys can do for YOU but what YOU can do for Los Lonely Boys.
