Take a moment and tell us a little about yourself. How'd you first hear of LLB? Where do you live? What are your interests? :)

Ok, i'll go first.. I'm Rosie from Mass. I've been a fan since 2005. I saw the boys at the "Big E" Eastern States Expo. I was amazed, and have been a fan ever since. When I saw Henry play "man to beat" & "Real Emotions" I had goosebumps. It was like seeing what I would play IF I COULD. It was like a part of me came alive. Sounds weird, but it's the only way I can describe it. Anyways, I have seen the boys in 7 states, and 15 times in 2 years, and I'm going to keep going. It's never enough. I have met some great friends here. I guess I'm addicted? Is there a 12 step program for LLB? Well, if you seee them LIVE, you'll know what I mean. Hope to see some newbies around the boards.

Hi, Everyone! I am Bela (not to be confused with Belle) and I live with my husband in Rockport, Massachusetts. I am completely addicted to Los Lonely Boys music.
I was driving home one day in the Spring of 2004 when I heard Heaven for the first time. I loved it, but had no idea who the artist was. When I got home I asked my husband, Mike, about it. He knew the song but not the artist. As the weeks went by I heard that song many times over and finally realized that it was by a band of brothers from Texas, Los Lonely Boys.
Sometime toward the end of the summer I heard More than Love. When I found out it was the same Band, I had to have the CD. I was completely amazed when I heard that CD for the first time. I loved every single song on it. I couldn't get enough of it. Then I started to search around the internet for information on the Boys and came across the fan forum. I started to read it on a regular basis. I had never been on a forum before, so I had no intention of joining it. I just liked to read it. As time went by, I realized I had tons of questions and the only way to ask them was to join the forum. In November of 2004 I finally joined and became completely addicted to the forum as well as the music.
On the forum, I found out about Blue Cat Blues and the Live from Austin DVD. Once I saw that DVD, I had to see a live concert. I kept looking for dates in the Northeast, but nothing. Mark from Austin mentioned to me that I should consider coming down to Austin for my first concert. One had just been scheduled for 5/4 in Austin and 5/5 in San Angelo. Once he put that idea in my head there was no way to let go. I tried and tried to convince Mike that we should take our vacation in Texas. He was non-committal. It was driving me crazy. I finally asked all my new Texas friends to write to him and invite him down. Many people did. My favorite plea was from Velvet Sky. Finally on 5/4/05 I saw my first concert at the Backyard in Austin, TX and my second in San Angelo the next. The San Angelo concert is the one that they filmed for Cottonfields and Crossroads. I have pictures of the movie cameras but I had no idea it was such an important concert. In San Angelo I got to meet Tio Lupe and his family as well as Enrique. It was a long, long time before I met the Boys.
Since then I have seen concerts all over the country. My last concert was on 10/7/07 in Perry, Georgia. That was number 29 in 29 months. I can’t believe I have been fortunate enough to keep up that pace. Not only has the music enriched my life but so have the many wonderful fans I have met all over the country. Some have even become good friends. My husband has been a wonderful sport about the whole thing. At first he would go to all the concerts with me, but after a while he encouraged me to go with ‘the girls’. He has been to Texas three times and has seen at least 14 concerts, maybe more. He loves the Boys’ music but refuses to act insanely like the rest of us.

Hi, I'm Rita and I first saw the boys live at the Taos Solar Music Festival in June 2004. After hearing Heaven, Real Emotions, and Señorita on the radio, I had to see them live. I've been a dedicated and loyal fan ever since having seen them a total of 11 or 12 times live in concert to date.
They are so awesome especially when they play Onda and EOANB at the end of the show! :) :) :)

Hi! My name is Rebecca, I live in Tucson, AZ.
I've seen the boys in every concert they've done here. I have the CD's, DVD's, I'm a big fan and try to get every one I know, to hear their music, because there is nothing else like it. I try to keep up with what the Boy's are doing by logging in here.
I hope to be able to keep in touch with others here.
Have a wonderful evening, everyone

Hey everyone my name is Sara. I first heard about Los Lonely Boys on Feb. 4th 2004 it was the Super Bowl and the concert series was sponsored by Pepsi Smash. My dad came from the other room in a hurry saying, "Who are these guys on TV, they're pretty good!" We watched with our mouths wide open, but I did not know who they were at that time. A few weeks later my mom (La Sonrisa) says, "Hey Sara, come check this out!" She was watching the Heaven video on VH1. We found out who they were and went and bought their CD right away. And in the following weeks and months and a year we listened continuously and contently to their self titled album. My Mom favored Senorita, me, Dime Mi Amor and my Father Heaven and Velvet Sky. They sang straight from the heart, that much was obvious. These first impressions will remain with me forever. I've always been a major Santana fan and I never thought a new generation of musicians could come along and steal my heart. But Los Lonely Boys did just that. I still can't explain it to this day but something very special happened to my family and I when The Boys came into our lives. Our very first concert was in Park City, Utah on August 16th, 2005. Only then did we realize what talent, what passion, what a God Given gift these fine young men truly posessed. From then on we discovered the LLB Fan Forum, and an amazing and loyal Street Team by the name of ~LA ONDA~, who helped to educate my mom and I on how to promote The Boys and make swag. We met many fans online who in time became our very dear friends and met up with at concerts, most of them from other states. So here we are, a 3 generation familia, my parents, myself and my son, thankful to have a band like Los Lonely Boys and La Onda in our lives, getting us through the hard times, giving us strength and happiness everyday. Hey, they say things happen for a reason right? We will remain LLB fans for life! My favorite sayings are "A Band of Brothers that brought us together" and "Mi Onda es Mi Vida"!

Henry, JoJo and Ringo words cannot describe what you mean to us, thank you for sharing your gift with the world. You are special and unique, there has never been a band like you and there never will be.

Rebecca if you are interested in joining La Onda be sure to go to Reverbnation to sign up. Not too many ST'ers in Arizona BUT we have members from NM and Texas (ElPaso) who have traveled to Tucson to shows. You don't have to wait till a show to get to know the team that's for sure or to start STing .

Hello from Tucson Arizona. I love the Lonely Boys music and lyrics and listen to them all the time! I sing the lyrics to my boyfriend who thinks it is sexy for me to sing to him in Spanish. I hope the boys come back to Tucson soon. There are a lot of fans here that want to see them again. My favorite song of theirs is Dime Mi Amore. But there truly isn't a song of theirs I don't like! I hope they will be making many more great albums for decades to come. Long Live Los Lonely Boys!

Hello everyone. I have been a member since 2005. My husband saw their video on CMT and thought I would like them. Little did he know what he was going to start. My username used to be DJ on the old forum . I have met several of La Onda. I met them this summer and saw the boys for the first time in Colorado. I saw them three nights in a row and actually got to go to a meet and greet which was awesome. I have made some live time friendships due to that trip. Last summer was a time I will never forget. It would be nice to meet others in the future. I love being on here. Everyone is so nice. As we all say familia is important and this like another part of me that I truly enjoy. Hope to talk to some of you in the future. One of my favorite songs is Tell Me Why. I don't believe that it has ever been played at a concert. I just love that song. Second is I Never Met A Woman. Now that song will make any woman who remotely likes JoJo weak in the knees. You have to admit that JoJo along with Henry and Ringo are very easy on the eyes. They are so excessable and that's hard to find in any band.

I have been a fan since 2003 and am so glad to meet the new folks here, and thank GOD that you lifelong loopies/lonelies are here also. I miss the old forum where I had over 3500 posts, will all my experiences archived there. Unfortunately I don't have much saved since my laptop died last year. . so I have very few of my early experiences.
I met the boys (the pic of that in my avatar) May 5, 2004 which was a dream come true for me since I had missing their concerts here in SF the year before. seems every time they'd play here I was out of town. Soon after I met them, I joined the fan forum and have been on the many transitions it's undergone, making new friends and cultivating the richness I have with the old ones. . . so it's home to me, and my connections have been mainly with La Onda, who are working fans, promoting the boys, relentless in their love and commitment for LLB.
I've also met my life partner here. . a life long Santana fan, who supports me in my La Onda lifestyle, although he's always encouraging to slow down, not do so much. . . maybe that will happen when I'm too old to rock. . but that's not anytime soon, right ladies!
So I found an old post that I had made. . . this was after four shows in three days (little did I know that would be the NORM of seeing LLB. . since then I've had several road trips with 4-7 shows in a row). . as of today, I have 54 shows behind me, and three more scheduled in Oregon for March. . possibly one in North Dakota in April. .
but this old post brings back memories. I had been a fan for about a year at this point, already had the beaded purse (which I've retired after 2005 season). I am attaching that old post after this one, kind of helps understand some of my beginnings . .
I just am thrilled to see new folks here, and I hope you feel welcomed by us who've been around for a while. . . I'm just now getting back into the swing of things after a tough December. .
Have a fantastic 2008! and I'm sure I'll see some of you at the shows!
Love, Tasina

___After the Oct. 23-24-25, 2004 Fillmore shows (and Bridge School Benefit)____ my original post____________________
I came home from my 4th LLB concert in three days at 3:00 am last night, and was writing for about 40 mins. When my computer crashed and I lost it all!!!! I had so much energy I was writing about my “double blast” of LLB yesterday that I was including wayyyy too many details.. So I went to bed about 4:30 but ended up trying to write out the words to “MY LONLINESS” . ..anyway. . I have to say I'm feeling so happy, overwhelmed and elated. . I went to all three nights at the fillmore, AND the BSB.. It was wonderful. So look out, this will be filled with so much love and minor details, unless you are OBSESSED like I am. . .
First, I got to Mountain View at the Bridge School Benefit just in time to see Eddie Vedder and I LOVE Eddie Vedder who played right before our boys. The Shoreline amphitheatre is a beautiful outdoor space and it was a sunny day, where I had tickets in the 12th row. I had gone out during the break, and it was around 3:15 when they announced LLB so I ran back into the seating area. . and as I was walking down the stairs. . JOJO saw me and pointed at me, smiled and waved. .. . BIG CHEESY SMILE here because it was sooo affectionate and they looked sooooo beautiful on the three stools (acoustic set). The Bridge school kids were all sitting on the stage behind them so it was such a family setting. They immediately thanked everyone involved with this good cause and then broke out with Crazy Dream… and the rest of the 7 song set. later as I was standing, dancing, Ringo saw me waving my LLB visor and waved back . . . It was obvious most of the crowd weren't sure who they were. . but there were a few pockets of us on our feet dancing and clapping to the songs.. . of course by the end of their set, the STANDING OVATION was a good indication that they know our boys now.. and won’t forget them.
It was the 3rd show (I didn't go on Saturday to BSB) I had seen them at in three days, and as usual they gave it their acoustic all It was my cousins first time to see them, and she LOVED them of course After their set, we went to look around and I felt people looking at me wherever I walked around because I had my LLB visor, black LLB t-shirt, and my LLB beaded purse. . .so I was a walking AD for the boys. I was sooo happy to see them. . . and be visual support for them . People were coming up to me saying, “you must be a big fan. They are fantastic!, they are great!, they were amazing!”. .they were telling me like I had something to do with it. Lol. It was so fun..
So I got to the Fillmore late because the show started at 8:00 instead of the 9:00 time of the previous nights. I didn’t get to stand up at the front of the stage as I did the night before so I was about 5 rows back (10 ft?) from Jojo in a packed house. A different band opened instead of Chris Duarte, and they were really good. I hollered around, “any ONDA people here”.. .no response so I figured most were up front at the stage. I brought 3 ‘llb virgins’ with me so when one asked “do you think they will be tired after all these shows?” I said “oh no, they give their all EVERY SHOW” and man, was I wrong. They gave even MORE this last show. The energy was sooo high from the time they came out at 9:24. They busted out with the first four songs and already with Man to beat, Henry opened with a solo, which became a trend for the night. . ..Jojo broke a string on Man to Beat, and they immediately brought his backup. I love how they do their “acupulco style, and ringo says a capella.. henry: .acupulco, a capella, avacado. . it’s all the same.” For More than Love. And then they acknowledged and honored a special guest, pointing out “Bob Morales” (? Not sure if that was his name) who is a relative of Ritchie Valens in the audience. And I had never heard them do “OOOH MY HEAD” that Jojo sang. . .BEAUTIFUL. even slicking back his hair when he’s sing that part . . .It was so perfect. And again, the opening of ONDA was spectacular. .they were in such top “JAMMING” form. . .all night with Ringo, Reese and Henry doing solos here and there. . .the crowd going wild. And of course everyone singing “velvet sky. . did you wish upon a falling in starrrrrr” which JOJO physically shows love for. .
And then they break out in the main part of the song. .ummmm
Jojo then sang “I WISH” which completely rocked. I was happy to see Ringo use my kazoo again, which I had given him the night before (Veronica lent his to her on Friday night). They have the dueling kazoos during Suppertime Cute as always!
Familia, I have to say. . this was the fourth time I was honored to hear “MY LONLINESS”. . .UMMMM I am soooo in LOVE with this song. . so haunting, so deep. . ..I spent an hour this wee hours of morning before bed trying to decipher the words. I have it on tape and am mesmerized by it, . . absolutely LOVE it! I wish I could figure out a way to share it with you if you haven’t heard it yet. . you will soon when you see them. .I think they love it too. I was crying during this song. . thinking about how much beauty I feel being with them, and realizing what a gift I was given being able to spend this much time with them, and them noticing me each time, being able to go back stage on Friday and hang out and visit. At one point last night, Jojo spotted me in the crowd and did a little intense jam, looking at me as if it was just for me. They amaze me how they make us each feel like we are the most valuable human being. . .I teared up during “my lonliness” because I knew they were going home today. . and I didn’t’ want it to end.
Next they brought their friend Mark Brussard on stage and he sang most “superstitious” as lead, and then Jojo joined in singing with him while they also focused on Reese and his keyboards.. .again many solos . . .henry again intro of Little Senorita was an awesome solo. They played 20 minutes longer then the two nights before, and their energy was through the roof Continuing with Nobody Else. Then during Real Emotions, it looked like security was trying to keep some girls from climbing onstage, I could be wrong but the place was wild..during Real Emotions someone threw a leather vest on stage and Jojo kept motioning to the man, saying ‘thank you’ during the song. Of course then Henry gave all the acknowledgement of the things their ‘daddy’ said and taught them and how much appreciation they had for us, our coming out to hear them, and the love and applause, people were hanging on every word, then cheered so loud. Ringo said “you never know what can happen, this could be our last show” meaning that they never take us or this success for granted. . .that we never know what can happen, and to be thankful for what is happening right now. . It was so moving and bonding as they all thanked everyone for coming. Jojo announced that this man just lost his father, and they were dedicating HEAVEN to him. and the lights come up and the whole house is singing with them. I was sobbing with how much ‘real emotions’ I was having. . . When they came out for the encore, Jojo was wearing the black leather vest over a tight black knit shirt that he wore under his other shirt… they played “End of the Beginning” once more for the finale, with all the wonderful stuff of Jojo playing Henry’s guitar, playing his bass on the floor. They also did the James Brown routine, with Jojo and a towel as a cape. . it was so funny. and then racing side to side onstage. . .it was awesome! The show ended at 11:44.
Since it was Sunday night, they shooed us out of their right away, but I lingered as did a few others. Jojo came down immediately and was talking with the man who gave him the vest and his familia. It looked very intense. I stood back at a short distance feeling fulfilled and content to just be there. As we walked toward the door, I didn’t want to leave yet, and said “wait” and we turned to go back since he was still there. . I saw Kevin and another management woman ready to take him backstage, and right when he was turning to leave he saw me and reached toward me, so I rushed in and he gave me a big hug, as I kissed his cheek. In my ear he said “thank you for coming”. .It was so tender and very heartfelt. I am amazed at how much love and beauty they give to all of us. I walked away in tears feeling so blessed that these guys are here making our world such a beautiful place. What a gift from Creator. . . We stood outside for a while as my friend told the others the details of what she just witnessed and I was sobbing so much that I couldn’t’ speak for a while. So much emotion flowing from me. . .I LOVE THESE GUYS! As I know you all do. . what a precious precious gift.
Thanks for listening to me. Sorry it’s a bit long, but I did warn you.. .smile
I'm sure the other street team folks will have their accounts to add, so I'm excited to hear how it was for everyone else.
This is a culmination of all the love, support and gratitude everyone felt with meeting each other. Great to meet the Texican Onda, as well as everyone here, giving them the prayer card from the prayer team, being backstage showing them my purse, etc. I am sooo lucky. .
while I was near jojo at the end. . a Fan came up and said "what's ONDA" and when I told them who we were he said " I read about your purse on the site.. I want to join, it's so great to meet you". I realized how many people read us here. . thanks all of you for creating this amazingly loving community that we all are a part of. On my photo that they signed (the one here by my name). Henry wrote "Con mucho gusto, mi familia". . .that says it all!

Welcome to the Fan Forum, myrmdz. I am so glad that teacher had the CD out and you saw it. That is more proof of Word-of-mouth advertising. It is the most powerful thing around. What that teacher did (whether or not the person knew it) is called Street Teaming. Many of us are dedicated to spreading the word about these Boys. They are fantastic and I am always surprised how many people still don't know them.
By the way, which CD did you get? I love them all, but I was curious. Tell us more about yourself. Have you seen the Boys in Concert yet? I look forward to getting to know you on the forum.

Tasina, I just loved your older post! My eyes are still watering. I know just how you feel when you get sad that the show's almost over. I went to 4 in 4 last July with all my loopie/LaOnda friends and three 13 y/olds. (aka "The Velvey Sky girls", Remember Bela???) On the first night Jojo said he'd see what he could do about playing Velvet Sky. On the second night he "Pinky promised" my daughter. They really bonded with Jojo when they held the banner that said "Play Velvet Sky" for four nights. On the fourth night, during the show in New Haven, Jojo said "This is for those 3 girls right there (pointing), they asked us for this song for four nights!" After the show, they just hugged Jojo, got a pic, and one started crying, and he said "What's wrong?" I said they are going to miss you guys. He said "We'll always be with you right here"(with his hand on his heart) Then they all started balling. They cried for 30 miles all the way home. It was all I could do to keep it together. It was soooo nice, but soooo sad. I love those dudes.. I miss thm alot. Thanks for your beautiful post.

I remember that very well, Rosie. I was right next to Kristen when Jojo looked at her teary face and said, "Remember, when I am not with you I'm right here" and he put his closed hand over his heart. I almost started crying too. That was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever experienced. I could kick myself for not having taken a picture but I was listening to every word. I forgot all about pictures. It really was too precious of a moment.
We love our three young Loopies. I hope they will join us again this year.

I really hope we get some shows to go to!! I am getting a little anxious myself. I keep checking the tour page ALOT! As a matter of fact, the three of them will be giving me the pleasure of their company tonight for a sleepover! 14 year olds!! (rolls eyes) LOL! But they are usually good. Usually. I'll see what shows they could go to, without a flight. Hopefully they'll be listing some more soon so I can make travel plans.

Hi, I finally made it over here after hanging around in the FCF all this time. I know many of you know me, but for those who don't... I'm Laurie and go by "Laurieboop". Why you may ask? Well, aside from being a big fan of Los Lonely Boys, I'm also a fan of Betty Boop. :)
I learned about LLB in early 2004 through a friend Steve, the bass player for one of my favorite local bands, Flirt. One night at a gig, Steve came over during their break to chat and asked me to listen to the song he was playing ...he asked, "do you know who this is" and I said, "hmmmm, it sounds a lot like Santana!" My friend laughed and said well pretty close., it's another very talented group comprised of three Mexican brothers from Texas called Los Lonely Boys! He told me they are influenced by many other great musicians one of them being Carlos Santana. I said, no wonder because that guitar playing sure sounded like Carlos Santana. Later, I find out the song he was playing was "ONDA".
The next week, I went out searching for their cd and couldn't wait to play it. I had already heard "Heaven" on the radio but didn't know it was Los Lonely Boys. I fell in love with the whole cd...including "Heaven", which later started playin on the radio. One day as I was reading the paper, I found out LLB was playing at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Tickets went on sale in March for the show in May, but by the time I went to purchase them, they were sold out!!!! I couldn't believe it and wasn't going to let an opportunity like this go by without seeing these guys. I went to a friend who had connections at the night clubs in West Hollywood and I soon landed tickets to see them. I will never forget my first experience seeing these brothers on stage...I was so impressed not just because of Henry's guitar playin, JoJo's bass strummin or Ringo's drummin...NO, that wasn't it! These guys weren't your typical musicians, it was their warmth and humbleness that lured me in! They are so down-to-earth and always make you feel like you are part of their familia! I have been very fortunate to have met them and families and all of them have been very nice towards me.
The lyrics the boys write have had a big influence on all of us for whatever personal reasons. "Heaven" in particular has always been an inspiration for me. When I first heard "Heaven" on the Blue Cats Blue CD, it was the day after my grandmother's death. I felt such a connection with the Boys because they had dedicated that song to their grandmother who had also passed away. This song meant so much to me because it brought peace and comfort and only this song has helped me move on with my life after my grandmother's death. "Livin My Life" has also touched me in a very personal way. I was going through my divorce when I first heard this song and it has also helped me to move on.
Now four years and 46 shows later, my family and friends know understand what LLB means to me. They know I am a proud member of the LLB Fan Club and La Onda Street Team. I have seen LLB all over CA, NV, AZ and TX and have met so many amazing people. Many of these I consider good friends and familia. My goal is to travel to other places I have never been to see LLB in order to make more friends and to spread the ONDA love.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming release of FORGIVEN and to more shows in 2008! Hope to see you there ;)

I'm John, from just outskirts of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I first heard about these great guys on the radio,(heard Heaven being played). Imagine my surprise when i came across the CD with Heaven on it at the Library,(i'm sooo glad i did). I'f i'd have known how good these "Boys" were i'd have zipped out and bought the CD right off. No biggie though, it gave me the heads up to not forget to pick up every CD from LLB from here on in. What a feeling these guys convey, too bad i'll prolly never see these guys live,(from the sounds of thier playing, they sound like they are having a great time). Oh, "Superman" is on now...cooooool tune.
Anywho, that's me,
Keep being cool guys! (ya...like that's gonna be a problem..lol)

Hi - We just joined - Thelma & I - and we LOVE the guys! I first saw them back when Heaven was out & I think the video played on cmt or vh1 - not sure which one...Anyway was a low key fan for years - then something just happened and now its LLB all day every day! I just went to my first show in April at the HOB in Orlando FL & OMG...it was AWESOME!!! Then the next night I saw then at the Blues Fest in St. Pete FL- AWESOME again!
I took Thelma with me to Orlando and although she liked before after seeing them live she is now crazy like me - LLB all the time! We are now cohorts in crime - LOL.
We recently did a road trip to Nashville TN to see the guys there and had a great time! Their live show is just incredible and we always leave feeling so energized - we had to have a few drinks after the show just to chill us out!
We are so excited that we will be seeing them again soon in St Pete, then driving to Pompano Beach and Ft. Pierce - yes another road trip - therefore our name Thelma & Louise. We had a slight problem registering for the site so we had to flip the names.
And we have been doing the street team thing without really realizing it. Everyone where we work knows about LLB - whether they want to or not - since they've heard the CD's or seen our pictures.
So that's more than enough for now - but we'll keep checking back!
Thank ya'll everybody!

Hi everyone, I'm Carrie Martin I've been a fan of Los Lonely Boys I known most of you for sometime now almost 4 years... I'm a Stay at Home Mom of 4 Two Boys and two Girls. I've been married to my husband Joe for 15 years now..
We've just moved to St.Augustine Florida about 3 years ago from Trenton New Jersey.. Joe is a Tour guide for Ancient City Tours Ghost Story teller and he also works at the oldest Wooden schoolhouse..
My First introduction to this wonderful trio was back in July of 2004 I was sitting in my van with 4 very noisy kids and I had the radio on and all of sudden I hear this awesome guitar solo come on the radio and I hear VAMINOS My Kids got real quiet and listened to the music and I fell hopelessly in Love with them from that moment but the funny thing is they never said who they were..
I finally did and been a fan ever since... I've been to 2 concerts and on my way to a third.. And the best part is My hubby will be coming with me it will be his first time seeing the boys live..
anyway HELLO To all.. and looking forward to talking and maybe meeting you all!!

It was a birthday treat for myself so of course I took the hubby along. I don't know which one of us was making the most noise, him or me; but we sure rocked Fort Pierce. I am such a huge fan of their music and the Forgiven CD ranks up there with the rest of them. :D
I can't wait for them to come back again. I know I will certainly be there. Who knows? Maybe I will get to meet you two gals. :)

i guess i can be somewhat OCD'ish with my beahavior when i go to a concert, because i have to look at my watch whenever the show begins and let me tell you...
it began with the opening act Alejandro Escovedo!
the lights went off and the curtains opened 2 minutes earlier than the show time, 7:58pm to be exact to the strains of a country song then at 8pm, Alejandro and his band which is a 4 piece came out on stage and then proceeded to tear the house down at 8:01pm and for 46 minutes, showed why they were picked to be an opening act for the muchachos. he has an amazing guitar player who is guerro to be exact, who played acoustic guitar with passion and beauty, the likes i haven't seen since hearing Los Lobos and their album La Pistola Y El Corazon!
at 9:34pm, the boys came out and showed why they where they are right now, they burned through a set that concetrated on songs from the debut cd and their current one, the opened up with the Heart won't tell a lie and just went through their set that ended at 11:17pm to the strains of van halen's happy trails (i don't know if that's their exit song or the song to tell the people at the house of blues to get the hell out!)
this show made up for what i personally thought was a lackluster show at the houston livestock and rodeo in february, 2007 and as i was walking back to my car, i saw Jojo outside and i told him this show, i compared it to the first two times i saw them at the troubadour when i used to live in los angeles, california and he agreed that the show at the rodeo was terrible because of the acoustics and he also agreed with me that this show was just as good because there wasn't enough of the reverb sound coming off the place!
If anyway of you has tickets to see los lonely boys with alejandro escovedo, please check out alejandro escovedo....
trust me, you won't be disppointed and to answer the lady who wanted to know about upcoming shows in california, ig you go to http://www.pollstar.com, go into the search box and type los lonely boys, you'll get dates for upcoming shows!
And belle, i was next to a bunch of people from the street team and they gave ne a forgiven guitar pick! :)

You're one of the lucky ones. Those picks go so fast that we had to put in a second order. I've only got a few left and am guarding them for the next show. :p (Along with a few bumper stickers that are left.)
Someone offered a bunch picks to Henry. He loves to throw them out to the crowd, but he won't use them. He tears them up too fast. :D
CubedThaRyter
10-31-2008, 11:39 AM
your right about that (and sorry for the typos, was really tired when i wrote those reviews), but during ONDA, Henry did play a long solo and you can see the picks just being torn up, well i did since i was on his side of the stage and i saw the picks being ripped apart and it's a good thing nobody gave him this picks either.

*** I wrote a lot here but for some reason I had the ability to kick a usb cable that pushed my pc back and managed to shut it down! Anyway, I'll write it again...
Well, I'm from a city called Salvador, located in the northeast of Brazil in the Atlantic Coast. I study electrical engineering and I love to listen to music, play my guitar and have some fun/spend some time with friends and family. I first heard Los Lonely Boys from a guy from Arizona, which have lived in my neighborhood for 6 months back in 2004. He passed me a few songs, including 3 by LLB: Heaven, Crazy Baby and a live jam session.
From time to time I would listen to them, especially Heaven. I don't know why, I never bothered myself to get to know them better, but I've always thought: what a great song! Every single detail here is perfect! That intro riff, the solos, the bassline, I've always considered they very good musicians. Not to mention the vocal harmonies, they are beautiful! Sometimes two guys singing, sometimes three. The spanish part! Everything is just perfect.
Someday, less than two months ago, I decided to make a quick research about them. When I found out they were from Austin Texas and that they were three brothers it sounded great to me. In that same week, a good friend of mine came over and we were listening to a few songs. He's about to go to Austin to play at this South by Southwest festival, so I said: "hey man, check it out, these guys are from Austin and they are great". A few seconds later we were watching - both amazed - Heaven's performance from this Texican Style dvd on youtube. Then he said: "man, why haven't you showed me that before? they've got the 'groove'! Let's listen to a few more songs". And the trigger was pushed... We managed to listen to the self-titled album and every "next" song was something else. Señorita, Crazy Dream, Nobody Else, Velvet Sky, More Than Love... Everything was hi-quality stuff. A mix of latin with SRV. Perfect!
Then I went to their official site and read that "the boys" section. It says a lot of their new album recording process, but there are also a lot of things telling us how they really are. I could just picture on mind that they're not only excellent musicians and singers, but also three brothers that care about each other a lot. Three really cool and simple guys. Well, just look at that picture on the top of this site... They're not faking anything, you can see that, they seem to be the most friendly people in the world! When they talk about Steve Jordan, that would become Steve Garza while recording with them in the studio just proves that they are a "família" that makes everyone around feels like part of it. Well, I may have overdone it a bit, but I'm just trying to describe what I feel haha
Now I'm listening to them all the time, in my room, in my car, playing their songs sometimes and planning to buy their complete discography. Also hoping that someday I'll see them alive and, even more, have the pleasure to shake their hands and say "thank you very very much for everything!".

Well Vico, thanks for telling us a little more about yourself and how you came to know of LLB. It seems for so many that the song, Heaven, is what draws people in.
I've been a fan since 2004 when I first heard Heaven on the radio here in Northern New Mexico. Now I go to every live concert that I can get to. I was especially pleased when they played my home town last November. Española, New Mexico loves Los Lonely Boys.
I hope you get to see them in a live show soon. They are awesome when they perform their fun stage antics. You just have to see it to believe it. And yes, they are very friendly and love all their fans. They are down to earth young men who love to play and perform for thier fans.
:) :) :)

Well, as I said, I think it's not gonna be that soon, but someday I'll see them. About these stage antics, I've seen it from that Austin gig. It's amazing when they play in the same guitar and stuff like this... I'm really keen to this kind of thing. I've showed it to a few friends already and everybody liked it. I love blues, and I like that "violent" way that they play it, like Stevie Ray Vaughan used to do as well...

Hey All!!!!
I had to REregister, but I've finally made it to the public side of things!! LOL
I am Rita--- not to be confused w/ SenoRita...LOL....... Nope, I'm Rita, MmmBopnMommy! ( Or just BopMom over here)
I'm in Vermont
I have 4 TEENAGERS in the house- so I'm a bit on the nutty side some days!!LOL
And i REALLY enjoy making SWAG ( 'gifts' to give out to promote the Boys at shows- or where ever I can!LOL) during the LONG COLD winter months! I sometimes get a little carried away with it..but it's all for a good cause!! LLB!!!!
(I'm ready for SPRING, by the way!!LOL)
But I'm really into the artistic stuff...and so are most of my kids. My oldest is now in COLLEGE-ugh- and does digital art/graphic designs. My 16yr old son is doing video productions in high school, and even did a music video for his class, for LLB's song "Guero" (my xmas gift!! He got an "A" on it too! ), my 15yr old daughter is really into wood working, and last fall cut out guitar shapes, that she actually got Jojo to sign, and gave HIM one- autographed to just him! He loved it! LOL My youngest is a boy, 13 1/2 yrs old...and no one is sure WHAT he is into- other than playing the Xbox & other video games!! Blah!
I use to paint on clothes and sell them, but stopped, and then picked it up for LLB shows!! I have about 3 pairs of special "concert jeans" so far..... And Countless hand made t-shirts i have done!! Sometimes I'll make shirts, but I'll offer them ""to a good home for free--you pay shipping costs"""...I do it because I get so into the music, and all, but i really do not need to have 20million LLB shirts!! LOL So be on the look out for thoes along the way, okay????
My 1st LLB show was September 28, 2005 here in Vermont in Burlington. I was AMAZED!!! LOL My 2nd show was 3 days later at the Big E, in Springfield Mass......all 6 of us were there, and it was REALLY great!!!!
I amup to like 14 concerts now.
2005=2
2006=3
2007=4
2008=5
2009= ? HOPEFULLY I will do the 6 I Want To do!! We'll see!!! LOL
My 1st encounter with Ish ( the boys guitar tech guy) was at that 1st show in 2005. He saved me from getting cloncked in the head w/ a beer bottle! LOL And i have loved him ever since! hahaha Last fall, he was very sweet to my younger daughter when she went to a show, and again he earned my devotion!! LOL
Okay, I'm tired of typing...so that'll be that....
I'm glad to finally be here, on the public side of things!!

yeah--- it's a tough age for him!!LOL
Tho, to tell a FUNNY story....the other day i was JOKING w/ the kids, and the mention of, uh, well, illegal subtances came up, and i said "Just as long as you share them with me..."...KIDDING, just kidding with them! (they're really good kids!)....but #4 wasn't there, so i went to his bedroom and mentined it all to him. He turned to me from his computer screen, and asked "Who called you?"
I nearly dropped laughing so hard!!!!
So then it was a 20minute me trying to look in his desk, while he was pushing me away.......
"So why was THAT your 1st response?" I asked him... "what else was i to say?" he replied!! LOL
The things kid say sometimes!!!! hahahahahhahahahaha..........
He has some Sreious "Baby-itus"...being last in line, in a small town. Everyone knows the other kids, what they did in school, and things like that. And he hates it! He says he has a "hand-me-down" life. Oh well. Nothing i can do aboutit!!!! hahahaha
And Vico- i'm not all that NEW--- been around over on the other forum for a LONG time.....just since the switchover, uh-- 2yrs ago??-- I haven't been able to log on to here. o finally I decided ro RE register..and wha-la, here i am!! hehehehehe.....
YOUR enthusiasim(sp?) is infectious dude!! I like that!!!

Rich from St. Paul, MN.
I first saw the Los Lonely Boys open for Santana (can't remember how many years ago). They did a solo that was just insane. Playing each other's guitars, behind the head, etc. I was SO impressed with not only their musicianship, but their showmanship too. For my money, their show was way better than Santana.
Can't remember when I first heard their music.
Their music is so soulful. It seems so genuine and deeply felt which is so refreshing in these times of mass produced music.
Can't wait to see them in Duluth this summer.

Ok here it goes. I'm new to joining a forum too so please bear with me. I first became a fan when I heard Heaven back when I lived in my home state of Pennsylvania. Since I got sattelite radio, I was introduced to even more of their music. Fast forward to 2007 when I got an unexpected job offer , it landed me in Los Lonley Boys territory...Austin, TX. I finally got to see my first show recently on April 8 at Antone's and was blown away completely. You can't fake that kind of passion!!!! Best show I have ever seen. EVER! I generally work ridiculous hours and their music in my MP3 player keeps me sane and when things aren't going so well ,their music lifts me back up. I don't think I could thank them enough for sharing their gift of music. Many blessings go out to them and I wish JoJo a quick recovery.
Much Love and Peace to you all,
Kristin

I am so glad you decided to join us. The Boys have touched each of us in a very special way. They are incredible musicians and wonderful human beings.
Make yourself at home here. Look around. There is a great deal of information here as well as many beautiful pictures. Let us know if you have questions or need help with anything. As you will soon find out, we are a very friendly crowd and LOVE newcomers.

Where else can I go to get info on what to expect from the street team and how it works? I'm hoping to meet more people in the area. It's funny in a way that I've been here just over three years and hardly know anyone here outside of work. I can't wait to meet folks and get involved whereI can!

Hi Kristin,
Welcome to the LLB Fan Forum, glad to have you here. I'm in Dallas but go to Austin for concerts when we can, so hope to meet you there. I'm not quite sure what the process is of how you are introduced to the street team experience, but I will send a note to our LaOnda Leader, velvetsky0222, and let her know you're ready to get the ball rolling! I know you will make many new friends here, as I have, and love every minute of it. Looking forward to getting to know you!

We (Bela and I) do back each other up and just as she did above - she'll direct folks to me as well. There is much to read on this forum. My name is Vanessa and I'm from Central California. I have been a huge fan of the boys since 2004 when I first heard 'Heaven" I am 35 yrs old, married with four children. I am planning to see them in concert near my hometown in Turlock, CA. I am so excited that my kids think Im nuts because Im acting like a teenager. LLB are so handsome, talented and thier voices are beautiful.
Im so proud to be a Latina and loving LLB. I love to hear JoJo sing "Staying with me" I just want to find him and give him a huge kiss. I saw them in San Francisco last year and they were standing 5 ft from me outside the Filmore. I was so shocked I couldn't even move or ask them for a picture. That's one thing I will regret for the rest of my life. I hope i get another chance this time in August. LOVING YOU ALWAYS LLB

Welcome Vanessa, I am a big fan of the "Boys". I just saw them last weekend in Richardson, Texas and saw them in New Braunsfuls, Texas last month! I know what you mean about being as I say "dazzled"! I was able to get my picture taken with Henry (with) autograph and my picture with JoJo. I find them to be very down to earth, very cordial and they are so into what they do! So go up to them and ask for a picture and you will also get a nice hug for a bonus! Here are some pictures from last weekend! Welcome again! Kathy

Im recruiting alot of friends to thier music. I get so excited to share what I love about them. I'm so happy they are living the dream. I also enjoy this forum because it gives me a chance to share the passion for LLB with all the other fans out there. My youngest child is four and whenever I play LLB she is right there singing along. It is so adorable. She wears my LLB bracelet wherever she goes and when we see a picture she tells me "Look mommy, your boys".

Bella, it was such a great show! We all were so hot but I really didn't feel it until later that night because we were so hyped! I would love to go see them in Lake Charles, but finances won't allow it. Maybe I can make it to Beaumont. JoJo looked really good! I was hoping we would have a report on how he is coming along! Nancy's banner was really great. I forgot to ask if she got it signed. Nancy was so excited about getting her tattoo signed, the only pin we could find was a SILVER pen that was Jeanette's. I am going to have a necklace made out of white gold with the "LLB" and I have two diamonds that I am going to have mounted and I will have to buy the third one. Would love a tattoo but hubby would have a cow and I mean a cow. Welcome Vanessa and be sure to take you daughter if possible. It is so obvious how much the boys are into family and love children! :):) Kathy

Hi Everyone -
My name is Gisele and I'm from the tiny little state of Rhode Island. I heard Heaven on the radio a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Luckily my radio station identified the artist and that night I went and bought the CD. I listened to that CD FOREVER!!! I still listen to it! I'm surprised I didn't wear it out! I first saw The Boys at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Luckily, my husband was able to see them with me, my two sons as well. (My husband unfortunately passed away in 2008). He was a guitar player in local bands here all his life and he was greatly impressed with LLB. I've seen them 7 times now, my most recent concert was in Tarrytown, NY just last night. And, I have to say, I don't think I've seen The Boys play a better show. Henry was just screaming on that guitar. They all play with such emotion and feeling that it gets to the core of your soul. So many of their songs seem to speak right to me, especially after losing my husband. LLB means a great deal to me. Especially the song More Than Love, which my husband had cued to play in my car on my 50th birthday before I went to work. Sometimes it's hard for me to listen to that song, it just brings back so many memories of my husband....but it is truly, I think, one of the most beautiful songs they have ever written.
I am, now, and forever will be a loyal Los Lonely Boys fan. (My next show is next Friday in Salisbury, MA).
SOMEONE SEND THESE GUYS TO RHODE ISLAND, WILL YA?? LOL

Welcome, Bunny. It is great to have you here. From what I have seen of these Boys over the years, I don't think we ever have to worry about them forgetting their roots or the real source of their talent. (They thank the Lord at every single show I have attended and I am been to 57 so far.) They continue to be the sweetest, most humble and caring people imaginable. Success has not turned them into "super stars with an attitude". Their talent is God given and they know they are simply channeling a great gift and "shinning the light" on all of us. (Santana said something along those lines to the Boys a few years ago.)
Hope we will see you here often and hopefully meet you at one of the concerts. By the way, I am BELA with one "l". Don't get me confused with Belle, my fellow moderator.
Giselle, I am so sorry we missed you yesterday. I wish you had looked for us. We were wearing Street Team badges and handing out swag in between sets. Hopefully next met we will meet.

Take a moment and tell us a little about yourself. How'd you first hear of LLB? Where do you live? What are your interests? :)
Totally new to this...I'm Nicole, have been a LLG for many years. I've seen LLB in concert twice now, second time being this past Friday 8/6 in Saratoga, CA at Mountain Winery (beautiful!) My girlfriend Debra (also a LLG since her husband is always traveling) came with me again. It's a chance for us to get silly and forget everything else out there. We were leftys (I think that's your term), sitting second row front/center 10 feet in front of Henry, who was looking as sexy as ever. Wouldn't have minded sitting in front of JoJo, who looked SO GOOD. They all perform so amazingly well together. Concert was GREAT, except I had a gatekeeper witch of a woman trying to keep me in my "space" all night...I think her task was to make sure I didn't jump the stage?? Question: Why don't they sing La Contestcion? That's what I'm waiting for. Such a great song sung from the heart....the feeling brings tears to my eyes. Anyway, probably said too much. When I want to escape again, I will try to make another concert or just come back to this website and check out things.

Welcome Girls!! I know what you are saying Nicole. I have only heard that song LIVE once (In english ) at Cape Cod Melody Tent in 2007 or 2008, and I have been to 38 shows so far. I still remember Jojo was saying that they haven't played it in like 5 or 6 years, so "Here Goes!".. It was funny. But I haven't heard it since. They may have played it at a show I was not at, but I don't recall hearing anything about it. Glad to see the boys are gaining more fans each day. Alot of people just lurk here, and it's nice to hear your stories. The boys are really such great guys, and I will always wish them the best. Can't wait for the new CD coming soon!
Welcome to the forum Nicole. The song La Contestacion is a beautiful song. I don't know how I'd react if I heard that live. I'm glad you posted here.

I remember you two, welcome! That 'gatekeeper' lady grabbed the set list out of my daughter's hand after the crew member handed it to her!! Fortunately, he got it back for her, can you believe that? Gatekeepers were brutal!!

Welcome to the FF, Nicole. I have only heard that song live once (July 2007 at Cap Cod Melody Tent), but it was in English. Jojo was awfully young when that was recorded. I think the high notes in that song may be hard to hit these days, but I could be wrong.

Dear Lord, I'm soooo tired of living so far from the rest of the world! :( I just found you all, after just finding the boys a week ago! Just go look up Port Angeles, WA, on a map... Discovered you while looking for pics of the boys, am addicted to the (evidently old) "oh henry" pic thread. :o Not old enough for hot flashes, but I think I've gotten an idea of what it's gonna be like, lol! Please feel free to resurrect that thread, I'm living on it!

Hello, wistful. Welcome to the forum and all things LLB. I've been to Port Angeles. Spent a vacation there. It's a beautiful place.
As far as Henry pictures go, there's a thread here devoted to nothing else. :D
Nice to meet you and glad you found us.

Thanks, Belle!
Loving the Oh Henry thread, spent so much time there I haven't looked at all the rest yet, lol. Yes, Port Angeles is beautiful, but so is just about every place I've seen, in one way or another!;) ( I really love the south west, though I've only been through a small part of TX) One of the biggest bummers is that bands from your part of the world don't always travel all the way up here... The Boys don't on their current tour...:(
Now, off to check out the rest of the threads, providing I don't get distracted by the pics again!:o

I try to give a link to all the pictures from a particular show. It is a lot of fun to go back and look through them.

Hello Wistful, Welcome! I know how you feel! I lived in Wenatchee for 10 years, but I was born and bred in Texas! I know they play the west coast from time to time so even if it is in Oregon or northern California just get on that Amtrak or the puddle jumper in Seattle and take a road trip! Port Angeles is beautiful and I would love to be able to move back to the Pacific Northwest. It will be 100 degrees here today in North Texas so enjoy the cool for me! I do not get to see the boys as much as I would like to but as you already know you can just spend time here and you will feel like you are there! Welcome, this is a great bunch of people and hopefully you will be able to meet them someday! :D

Enjoy the cool??! Sigh. 50's and raining for the last I don't even know how long, and expected to continue for at least that much longer. Those of us that were raised here sort of forget to notice most of the time, at least until we join a forum consisting mostly of people from warmer/drier climates (who are so 'thoughtful' to remind us that there is anything else)! ;) I've noticed that those same said people are also very adept at rubbing in the fact that we up here are also rather isolated by posting not just amazing pics of The Boys, but even go so far as to use personal shots of them WITH The Boys for their avatars... Have any of you any mercy at all??!
Drama aside, I do love this site and am glad to at least have such great pics to droo...I mean look...at! :o

I watched a program with your dad and family the other night on cable and I was amazed at your talent.SRV music is one of my favorite as is Clapton.Wow, when I heard you play brought back allot of memories of days when I was younger listening to that music.

Hope you visit the forum often. There're all kinds of great folks to meet, shows to discuss and pictures to share!

Just got high speed internet hooked up and have been looking at all things LLB. These guys are hotter than an AZ summer! I first caught them on a PBS special and have been hooked ever since. Their shows amaze me because I can actually get up front, afford the tickets and get autographs. I've seen how nice they are to kids and their older fans(like me). You can't feel out of place because there are ALL KINDS of different people at their shows.
Musically LLB are so gifted. I can't even explain what their music does for me. I just feel it and it keeps me sane.It is very healing for me. Can't find anything that chills me out like these guys do! I never get tired of listening to them but others in my house think I've got OCD.
I notice how Henry always thanks God for blessing them. There is nothing more beautiful on earth than seeing someone use the GIFT that God gave them. LLB brings a little bit of Heaven right here on earth!!!

The CD you have is "Live at Blue Cat Blues", a place in Dallas (now closed).
It's too bad about the Dec 3 show in San Antonio, but it's due to venue troubles, not the Boys.

Jessy, I was at that concert in Ridgefield. It was Henry's birthday and he was presented with a cake on stage. I have fond memories of that day. If you go under Live in Concert you will see a write up of the concert and pictures from it. You will probably have to go back a couple of pages to find it, but it is out there. Hi everyone, my name is Mario Flores and I have recently joined La Onda! I have heard many, many, many stories about your group and of course about how you represent Los Lonely Boys. I am excited to join my lady, DonnaLee in her crusade for Los Lonely Boys. Many of you have befriended me on facebook and so Hello again! I don't get on the computer much so I may not post much. I tell you, I usually listen to hard/metal rock and wasn't interested in Los Lonely Boys and never accompanied DonnaLee to concerts. I eventually attended a concert and had the opportunity to meet Henry before the concert started, I was amazed that he got off the bus to come talk to my step son. My step son told him, "get off the bus and come meet your twin (meaning me)". Henry did and walked up to me with open arms and said "Carnel". At that moment I thought, "That's the coolest sh** ever!" We landed up taking pictures and talking to all three brothers after the concert. I enjoyed the way Los Lonely Boys interacted with my family before, during and after the show. They were so sincere and it was too cool to see that JoJo interacted with my step son while they were performing, he would talk to him when he wasn't singing and too cool that Ringo recognized him after the show and talked to him about his football games. I have since gone to other concerts whenever I am able and look forward to the Colorado shows coming up! Mario

Hello everyone! I was on my way to work one evening in 2004 when the boys were playing at a venue that I drive by on the way. Saw the show advertised on their sign outside but couldn't skip work. Started listening then buying the cd's as they each came out but never got the opportunity to see them live yet. I feel a little nervous about joining the street team without having seen them play but finally getting my chance to. Am going to see them on June 30th here in Indpls and I can't wait. Any suggestions or advice is welcome and there is great wealth of information right here I'm still trying to get all the way through. What makes me love them so much is their family values which are immediately obvious, their love of the Lord, and the way they translate all of that into beautiful soulfelt music. Thank you for the chance to introduce them and their music to as many people as I can.

Pangograndma - hi! First off, I love your User ID. You're not the only grandma running around here, in love with LLB's music.
Glad you're finally getting to see your first live show! Advice? Look for people with La Onda street team badges and introduce yourself. They can tell you what's what and who's who (even the stage hands names and what guitar Henry is switching out to).
If you're interested in street teaming, feel free to send velvetsky0222 (Jeanette, our fearless leader) a private message. She can get you set up on handing out swag, who's in your area, etc.
Also, you might want to rattle around the "LLB Lingo 101" thread in the Welcome Mat message board. It defines a lot of our special terms (Onda-isms) and helps explain how we got this crazy.

Another newbie here. Have always loved the band although haven't as yet had the fortune to catch them live in person. They come thru my area every 1-2 years so I'm sure I'll pop my LLB cherry soon enough.
By happen stance, just came across an old favorite from a rare 1983 compilation, "Los Angelinos" that we used to play at my college radio station (KJHK-Lawrence, KS) and while I'm sure the band and others on here may already be familiar with Thee Royals Gents, hearing this tune again for the first time in 30 plus years made me immediately think of LLB and how cool it would be for them to remake/update this song. Sure seems like something that would be right in their wheelhouse. Oh well, just a thought. Enjoy anyway.

Welcome, pellboy to the fan forum. It is always great to see new fans here.
You have to make it a point of seeing these Boys in person. They are amazing performers. During a live concert they will blow you away with their raw ability. These guys are real musicians. They feel it and let it flow out to us. It really is a great experience. Warning: they are real rockers and love to jam. The song you played is a more pop. That is not their favorite genre, but you never know. Thanks for posting it. It was very pretty.
